Prince Edward saves the Union

kurtrussellsbeard · 06/02/2021 14:55

Apparently Prince Edward is moving to Scotland as part of a bid to save the union. I'm not 100% on what he'll do when he's here or why this would affect any of us ordinary plebs but I'm sure they have a plan. So if Prince Edward moves to Scotland will that be it for independence?

Is he bringing Sophie and the weans with him?

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 06/02/2021 15:00

Really? Golly that's random.

I doubt he will be moving any time soon or Nicola will be after him

'Yous have been telt, you mad bastards' 😄

RoseAndRose · 06/02/2021 15:01

"The Daily Mail cited a Downing Street source saying no formal request had ever been made and said Buckingham Palace was unaware of the proposal"

Mychitchatdays · 06/02/2021 15:01

Of course!! We all love a royal, don't you know that?! It's absolutely hilarious.

florafoxtrot · 06/02/2021 16:18

Whaaaat? That would be rather random.

Thought Boris saved the Union the other week?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 06/02/2021 16:21

"And the weans" Grin love it

Allegedly, Edward is getting Duke of Edinburgh eventually so it makes sense

kurtrussellsbeard · 06/02/2021 16:27

@florafoxtrot and Gordon Brown is still to have his turn.

Are we playing "It's a Knockout?"

AgentProvocateur · 06/02/2021 16:30

I think that would boost the case for independence massively 😂

Good grief

LizzieMacQueen · 06/02/2021 16:31

Maybe he's behind one of the numerous recent posts about moving to Scotland? What ages are the kids?

I wonder where he would live? I mean if he lived in an ex council house down braehead road in cumbernauld...

I really don't know why they insist on bringing Gordon Brown back from the dead and promoting him as the saviour of Scotland.
Everytime I see him, I think of 'That ghastly woman'- the time he forgot to turn his mike off in the car. I mean, surely they can find a more likeable unionist to sell us 'The Vow'.

StarryEyeSurprise · 06/02/2021 17:02
  • Meant to write 'The Vow Second Edition'
kurtrussellsbeard · 06/02/2021 17:04

I wonder how they decided who it would be.

Grin I think Anne would be a better idea. She loves the Scotland rugby boys.

Surely they sussed Andrew wouldn’t be a good idea!

Agree that I’d have guessed Anne if I was a betting woman!

kurtrussellsbeard · 06/02/2021 18:00

Anne was probably asked and told them to fuck off.

I just keep thinking of Longshanks. We need a nickname for our Eddie.

I dunno, I can see edward and Sophie fitting right in.

I'm surprised you're defending the woman in the Gordon Brown saga, as far as I can tell she was bigoted and she didn't want anymore Eastern Europeans round her getting benefits.

kurtrussellsbeard · 06/02/2021 18:02

Of course they would fit in! And actually they'd be very welcome! Sophie in particular seems a lovely lady.

It's just the ludicrous idea that giving us a member of the Royal Family to walk and live amongst us is somehow a gift of some kind. A wee treat 🤣

kurtrussellsbeard · 06/02/2021 18:04

I have been to Braehead Road in Cumbernauld before right enough and while it's very nice I don't think it's exactly what they'd be looking for Grin

anon444877 · 06/02/2021 18:11

Agree it's utterly preposterous as an idea - unless they're going to stand in the streets chucking out free money, it beats me.

ParkheadParadise · 06/02/2021 18:14

I saw a headline recently that said
Eddie & Sof are the new fab4 along with Willie & Katie so hopefully, they stay in England.
I'd rather have bawbag Boris back for a flying visit 😜😜
