@Groovee that’s really great! 😊

Lockdownbear · 05/02/2021 19:28

If people were prepared to march for BLM last summer they'll surely be marches/ riots for our own freedom.

fluffyugg · 05/02/2021 19:31

Yes, I wonder how compliant people will be once more are vaccinated.

Reading about the 3 weeks intervals they're proposing for phased school return meaning most pupils won't be back til mid April, that's 2 months away!

WouldBeGood · 05/02/2021 19:48

I’ll march soon. Especially if schools not back for another ten weeks

Bytheloch · 05/02/2021 20:11

Great news @Groovee the waiting for results is horrific, such a good feeling to get clarity.

goodname · 05/02/2021 20:52

I don’t know, it’s like people have just got used to it and have given up complaining. It’s like we are all in this state of depression/despair where we don’t even have the energy to care enough to protest. Or we all feel like there’s no point as nothing will change.

^this. Nobody seems angry, more just resigned. Anybody who objects is still mocked.

Maybe it'll change as the percentage vaccinated goes up and cases drop more.

rookiemere · 05/02/2021 21:08

What have I missed ?

Been away for hours, as mistakenly thought it would be a good idea to order Six By Nico to cook at home. For those unfamiliar with the concept its a six course meal with complex, intricate dishes. Great at the restaurant, not so fun if you have to prep it yourself.

Gave up after 4 courses, so sausage supper and deep fried mars bar tomorrow night if DS doesn't find it in the freezer first.

Gawd I can't wait for restaurants to reopen - but schools first obvs - at least being at home you can drink with your meal.

WaxOnFeckOff · 05/02/2021 21:14

Ha ha rookie. I'll not do that for our nice anniversary dinner then.

I've not long finished confirming my supermarket click and collect, got snacky and thought I'd go get some of the popcorn I've just ordered.....

Doh!🤦‍♀️

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 05/02/2021 21:16

Brilliant news @Groovee 🎉

blowinahoolie · 05/02/2021 21:17

DM getting her vaccine on Monday 🙌

Cismyfatarse · 05/02/2021 21:19

Just heard a shocking story from a friend. Her DH is in a care home. He is only 60s but has Alzheimer's so needs full time care. He has been married twice so has 2 families - adult children and primary aged.

So, lots and lots to live for. He has not been able to see them except through glass since March.

Today he was refused the vaccine. They did everyone else in the care home but he apparently "does not have his turn yet."

So not all those in care homes are equal.

Am so shocked. He would have been so bewildered having been told he was getting it, and could soon see his wife and kids. So heartbreaking.

Glad to hear some positive news today Groovee. Time for 🥂🍻 to celebrate. Such a relief. Feels like a lifetime waiting on results!!

rookiemere · 05/02/2021 21:26

@Cismyfatarse I do think with that story, and the one about the island vaccinations only being given to the over 80s, it does seem as if Scottish rollout very hidebound by doing things in the right order.

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/02/2021 21:27

Surely he should be high priority anyway as a care home resident though? That's appalling

Tomorrowisanewday · 05/02/2021 21:46

I thought they were vaccinating everyone in care homes, I didn't think the age limits applied in those ?

littlbrowndog · 05/02/2021 21:57

Grovee and mr groove 👏👏👏👏💪

WaxOnFeckOff · 05/02/2021 21:57

Travelling tabby notes under the vax stats says that care homes only covers elder care home numbers but that situation just doesn't make sense, surely he qualifies based on vulnerability if not necessarily on age?

Bizarre why not just do everyone while you are there?

Cismyfatarse · 05/02/2021 21:59

Yes. And how to explain why he didn't get one when the care home had told him he would. The criteria were for care homes.

In spite of his "youth" he is in a care home with people with Alzheimer's so might be at the younger end - but still in a care home.

So, so unfair.

kurtrussellsbeard · 05/02/2021 22:02

Appalling @Cismyfatarse is there a procedure for them to complain?

Cismyfatarse · 05/02/2021 22:07

They are on it. He has 2 pretty fierce children who are even now taking the system on.

OP posts:
kurtrussellsbeard · 05/02/2021 22:09

Hopefully it's resolved quickly for them. Must be a worrying time for everyone with loved ones in care homes.

Lockdownbear · 05/02/2021 22:29

That's bonkers re the care home man.
Why on earth would they not just do him while they were there he's not exactly going anywhere.

MissEliza · 05/02/2021 22:59

@Cismyfatarse that's made me so angry.

OMG this is so true. We've lost our hope.
