I didnt imagine NS saying exam year pupils who would be allowed in to do practical work?

Sootess · 02/02/2021 19:50
@Peppafrig I wouldn't think a gp would have a register of carers, why would they?
My mil cares for disabled bil, wonder if she should contact her gp
Does she normally get the flu jab when she takes him for his?
That's how our GP knows who are carers as they get offered flu jab every year

blowinahoolie · 02/02/2021 19:51

My 10yo slightly miffed he can't go back to school when his younger siblings return to nursery. It's going to be difficult to keep everyone happy🤷

Cocacola12 · 02/02/2021 19:53

I wonder how it will work for children in 3/4 4/3 composites. My eldest (p3) is in a class with 6 p3 and 18 p4. I’m presuming he will still go back though?!

She did say that but with absolutely no details on how that's going to work.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/02/2021 19:56

A bummer for working parents; Care Inspectorate have just confirmed that after school care is not allowed to reopen except for keyworker and vulnerable.

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 02/02/2021 19:59

I’m glad for everyone who’s had good news from today’s broadcast Flowers
Commiserations to those still frustrated Wine

The stuff that would make a difference to our life feels/is bloody months away - I wish they would just get on with jabbing people!

anon444877 · 02/02/2021 20:07

That is a bummer re asc - it's amazing isn't it, that this wasn't included in the announcement. Let's hope we are seeing if the start of the end of the last lockdown.

fluffyugg · 02/02/2021 20:21

I'm miffed that my two aren't in the groups to go back but am pleased about the AZ news and the thought of more school years/easing of restrictions come March. Just got to hang on a bit longer, how many times have we all said that nowHmm

fluffyugg · 02/02/2021 20:22

And obviously pleased for the ones that are going back Smile

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 02/02/2021 20:31

my BF who has been struggling has both her kids going back to school and cousin with 3 under 5s also very relieved with nurseries going back. I thank god every day I decided to only have one and she's in S2, it would be absolute hell for me to try to do this with toddlers.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 02/02/2021 20:41

going to name change btw ( I think someone in RL has identified me so need to protect myself and keep my posts as private as poss Sad )

Peppafrig · 02/02/2021 20:52

Sorry to hear that iwillnever it’s always a worry on here isn’t it. Hope past posts weren’t too bad that someone IRL would have seen them .

MissEliza · 02/02/2021 21:09

@MaxNormal if you can't have the vaccine, then you clearly aren't a vaccine refuser and my comment doesn't apply to you. There are a lot of people refusing the vaccine because they don't think it's safe, been rushed through, can alter your DNA etc etc. I'm sure you're well aware of that so it would have been obvious those are the people I'm referring to.

MaxNormal · 02/02/2021 21:12

@MissEliza sorry Sad I'm a bit defensive because everything is rather fraught feeling just now.

kurtrussellsbeard · 02/02/2021 21:18

@MaxNormal me too. I've been a cheeky moany bastard all day.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/02/2021 21:24

The people who genuinely can't have vaccines are dependent on those who can to do so. Folk refusing because put everyone at risk.

MaxNormal · 02/02/2021 21:26

@kurtrussellsbeard I hope you have a better one tomorrow. I'm so not my best self at present. Thinking of everyone thats struggling.

kurtrussellsbeard · 02/02/2021 21:30

@MaxNormal you too. Tomorrow is a better day!

LetItGoGo · 02/02/2021 21:30

MMR was in the news when I had my first. I remember reading with relief that Scotland maintained a high enough level of coverage for measles cover. So fingers crossed vaccine hesitancy won't be an issue.

kurtrussellsbeard · 02/02/2021 21:32

Even people I know who are generally a bit vaccine anxious are really keen to have this. People just want normality back I think.

titsbumfannythelot · 02/02/2021 21:35

According to the briefing today, take up of the vaccine has been high.

Hope tomorrow is a better day max/ kurt/ anyone else who had a rotten day.

kurtrussellsbeard · 02/02/2021 21:36

Plus, although you're very likely to only have mild illness there still feels like there's a bit of a Russian roulette feel from covid. A healthy 44 year old in our local community died recently. She was quite high profile as she ran a very successful business. She died very suddenly really all things considered. Tested on the Wednesday, hospitalised by the weekend and dead four days later. People are frightened and want to protect themselves.

WouldBeGood · 02/02/2021 21:37

They can jag me with anything if they let me out

Oh that's so sad.
