I've heard of a few examples of MSPs being down right rude to constituents when they complain about the impact of the restrictions on their home life (particularly wrt children). I really don't get it as you'd think they would want to keep the electorate on side, especially with an election coming up. Unless they are so far in their own bubble they feel untouchable whatever they do or say. Sadly, that might actually be the case, especially if they're SNP.

I’d share this widely. Hopefully people can vote for someone else who is not so arrogant or conceited. WFH with children is absolutely shit. I get that it’s necessary but surely the MSP could acknowledge how difficult it is without saying they disagree with the lockdown?

My children’s primary had not one case from August- December. The rates now are are low as they were in that term. What’s the justification for not opening them to all pupils?

That would be terrible.

I’ve got a toddler and a teenager so both ends of the spectrum. Teenager is also really struggling with their mental health being so isolated.

The SNP MSPs just write generic stuff supportive of the party as they are not allowed to disagree. I wrote to loads of MSPs last time

Interesting about the vaccine.
It seems maybe in England they went ahead quicker with the big centres and have then moved down the age ranges while still mopping up those who wanted to stay local at gp centres.
They were too focussed on being sequential perhaps.

Were we still in the Highlands (and they weren't adults) my kids would be in a composite P1 - P4 class of about 10 pupils (but could be up to 20). It would have been awful for some to go back, or just one sibling, in the same class.

Starting to feel like I'm supposed to be grateful for the schools being open to educate my children and allow them to socialise. Pretty sure both of these are the very basics of the "Rights of the Child" they were always telling me were their absolute priority.

We are a very long way from GIRFEC atm.

Suspect there will be a lot of incandescent parents if schools are closed to hold elections. My DM's council already located away from schools to cope with outrage over all the extra GEs etc in recent years.

First experience of Twinkl via the school e-class today. The teacher is very clear but the content is dense so lots of pausing the video to allow you to keep up but then DD loses the thread. OK if you are sitting with them but less than ideal if they are on their own - can almost see the average 9 year old glazing over and loading up Fortnite on the side.
