The threads moved fast today! Haven't had a chance to catch up much with what's been going on.
Hope you all have a nice Friday night. I'm off to bed - rock on!!

NearWildHeaven · 29/01/2021 20:46

@titsbumfannythelot

I'm wrestling with what levels of alleged facts may be untrue. I can quite believe that there was an unwritten rule not to allow females to be alone with AS due to what friends with previous access to him have said. But now I'm wondering if that was an overstatement?
Did you read the Murray court script that someone linked to on here? This thread or the other? My mind was blown by what he was saying. I'm far too naive I think
WouldBeGood · 29/01/2021 20:47

Where’s @Lidlfix, she’s a cocktail maker?

WaxOnFeckOff · 29/01/2021 20:47

@anon444877

Have you seen the speculation that Sam Heughan would be the next bond?

The tartan watergate, snort.

Lashana Lynch has been confirmed as the new Bond.
NearWildHeaven · 29/01/2021 20:48

@MrsRockAndRoll

^ Irn Bru!
That would be murky. Or manky.

I have a total (dry January) craving for a Long Vodka. Remember those?!

WouldBeGood · 29/01/2021 20:48

@NearWildHeaven it’s a really horrible business.

It's truly shocking.

Someone at work this week reckoned there was a full moon. Kids are playing up all over the place. Everything's going a bit off the rails. The I logged in here and saw this chat. It's like something has gone wrong in the Matrix.

WaxOnFeckOff · 29/01/2021 20:51

I was just catching up on stuff and Jeanne says that we've now increased our testing capacity to 65k? We've never used much over than 30k on a very high testing day so wonder why this is worth announcing on tv - Confused.

I suspect the capacity is more to do with having more testing centres for convenience but why not just set up more vaccination centres instead - 3% behind England now.

NearWildHeaven · 29/01/2021 20:53

I can't follow the vaccine numbers. It's all just spin and feels like smoke and mirrors.

And the inconsistency across towns within the same health boards is already happening if what I'm hearing in my own family and close friends circles is correct.

Tomorrowisanewday · 29/01/2021 20:55

I know two women who worked at Holyrood, who don't know each other (there at different times), both of them have told me they were advised not to be in an office alone with AS

WaxOnFeckOff · 29/01/2021 20:55

I don't drink much so i'll leave the cocktails to you guys

That’s as may be, and I’m no fan of his, but he was found not guilty and there’s mounting evidence of a conspiracy against him by the SNP leadership, including allegations of perjury.
WaxOnFeckOff · 29/01/2021 20:59

I think he said he wasn't always a gentleman. I don't like him at all but it would be awful to be accused of something you didn't do - even if you did do other stuff.

I'm not on either side, i'd just love to know the truth.

Same here.

I'm definitely not a fan of trial by social media.

titsbumfannythelot · 29/01/2021 21:02

I aged @NearWildHeaven and to falsely accuse someone of sexual misconduct is one of the worst things you can do to a person.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 29/01/2021 21:06

hate both of them and want to see both of their careers ruined.

When do we get a verdict on whether NS broke the ministerial code? Would that be determined before or after May elections?

But not if it's based on false statements and outright lies though surely?

That's beyond horrific.

Mud sticks and false accusations ruin lives... not just ruin careers.

We need the truth.

That might all be caught up in other stuff, too many different things happening, potentially actual charges could be made? Anything could happen. We might go into May with everything having "gone away" or with a whole new leadership team or anything in between.
beepbeeprichie · 29/01/2021 21:11

@Iwillneverbesatisfied how can we have May elections I wonder? My understanding is that the SG has been advised that organising a postal only vote would take until November at least. How can we go to polling stations and queue when restrictions will still be in place?

And with one party on tv everyday telling us what to do

Tomorrowisanewday · 29/01/2021 21:15

WouldBeGood - sorry, I wasn't trying to imply he was guilty of the assaults, just that his previous behaviour has helped NS in her crusade against him.

I didn't like him as FM, but I'd swap him back for NS without a thought. She's making our country look small and petty

Tomorrowisanewday · 29/01/2021 21:16

Which in general, we're not

titsbumfannythelot · 29/01/2021 21:17

I think you and I were making the same point @Tomorrowisanewday; there are blurred lines between truth and fiction here.

rookiemere · 29/01/2021 21:20

Well exactly @beepbeeprichie . For someone whose main modus operandi is the ultra cautious approach, encouraging people to group together to vote is a reckless action and should not even be on the list of important things to worry about, never mind right at the top.

WaxOnFeckOff · 29/01/2021 21:23

I think it also depends on from when some of the inappropriate behaviour he's admitted to is from. I know it's never OK, but you can't really always judge things in today's standards.

I had a boss who would always put his hands on my shoulders when leaning over to see what I was working on, there was nothing in it and I never felt uncomfortable but I could make that into something now.

I've also had people who did nothing and didn't lay a hand on me but made me feel very uncomfortable. I've never met him but I could imagine salmond might make me feel like that.
