And propping it up at a weird angle Grin I have one charger like this too! (& no cat to blame the bare wires on)

Michelle Ballantyne would appear to be appealing to people, at minimum pissed off with restrictions and some Covid deniers, to get votes so she can continue to be a list MSP. In a recent Facebook post, she said people should be allowed to make their own risk assessments. No useful suggestions as to what the UK and Scottish governments should be doing. Which I find concerning as she used to be an ICU nurse and worked in health care management.

WouldBeGood · 10/01/2021 22:07

@Perihelion I like that she’s trying to hold them to account and to justify measures. Government should be held to account and questioned

WouldBeGood · 10/01/2021 22:08

And her experience has probably given her some perspective, unlike those in the ivory towers

Can also recommend Scholastic for home learning resources - some are paid for but lots of free stuff. Www.scholastic.co.UK
Would also suggest looking at the website of your local library authority - usually links to free online resources there.

Another vote for orchard games rather than twinkl worksheets. We have the times tables one and a great one called rhyme robbers. Have had lots over the years

WouldBeGood · 10/01/2021 22:47

My kids used to love the pop to the shops orchard game... takes me back

Rae36 · 10/01/2021 23:06

Aww my guys liked the orchard toys Red Dog Blue Dog bingo game. We probably still have it somewhere, maybe I'll make them play a game when tempers are frayed this coming week

runningpink · 11/01/2021 06:32

@MamaTookMyEyebrows I can pm you some times table games if that would help?

No helpful suggestions for telling the time though I’m afraid

Groovee · 11/01/2021 06:59

B&M has a learn to tell the time clock. Dd bought a few as resources 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm all set for work. Been nice having a lazy morning as I can leave 45 minutes later. Dd and dh will be leaving soon so breakfast in peace.

anon444877 · 11/01/2021 07:03

Both of mine loved red dog, blue dog too, great game.

Good luck - mine are bouncy this morning!

titsbumfannythelot · 11/01/2021 07:12

Good luck today everyone

Rae36 · 11/01/2021 08:20

Have a good day all teachers and home-schooling parents. And everyone else who is slightly dreading another Monday

Lidlfix · 11/01/2021 08:31

Trying to replicate my typical day and showering, face on and dressed before coming down and having breakfast. Would normally answer a few emails at this point so logging on for that.

And so it begins again ....

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 11/01/2021 09:21

DD in a foul mood this morning. Promised me she'd set an alarm. 5 to 9 and still not stirred so I had to go in to get her up. Cue a mouthful from her for waking her up - non sweary though. She knows better Grin.

Apparently she has 4 Google Meets today which sounds better than last time so hope it lasts and doesn't tailor off.

I am banned from going upstairs or into her room or even for a pee in case I disturb embarrass her.

Lockdownbear · 11/01/2021 09:42

9.39 and I'm stressing already.
Computer decided to do up-dates. Back to using tablet.

LO viving for attention. He's now watching telly.

Perihelion · 11/01/2021 09:45

An hour into home schooling and Microsoft Teams has stopped working. Hmm

NotAnActualSheep · 11/01/2021 09:48

And Edinburgh's Microsoft connection has decided not to work, so we can't access teams/ one note where all the class work is. DHs colleagues are panic-texting the same... Who'd have thought that several thousand people trying to access the same thing on the same day would scupper plans. Luckily we'd cached it, so can revert to printouts.

Perihelion · 11/01/2021 10:06

Yep, Edinburgh....

titsbumfannythelot · 11/01/2021 10:12

Well I've just had a work email to say teams is down which I'm not entirely unhappy about!

titsbumfannythelot · 11/01/2021 10:13

Appreciate that this is a major pita for school kids though

anon444877 · 11/01/2021 10:15

We've spent the first hour and a bit listening to IT problems - was inevitable really.

WouldBeGood · 11/01/2021 10:18

Ds is manfully going through his google classroom assignments...

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 11/01/2021 10:31

I think Teams had been patchy everywhere. All this enhanced, intense online engagement has crashed the internet.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 11/01/2021 10:32

Its google meets here and I can hear DD chatting away so seemingly no connection issues and I'm not working (redundant) so not an issue for me although I do have a Teams interview tomorrow.
