@Iwillneverbesatisfied I have the hair dye on as well. Did it a couple of times during lockdown the first and as it's been cut recently it's not too thick so hopefully should take ok.
Now we do have plans. DS is to go out and do litter picking- he's doing for DOE - and pal and I will follow behind but obviously not together. It's fine as no self respecting teen would be within 2 metres of a parent through choice anyway. Also have been for run, although more plod than normal due to icy bits, but just good to get outside in the daylight.

WouldBeGood · 10/01/2021 12:15

@Lidlfix I need to sort my weight too, and I’m scared my depression of last time is returning. I vow to take the dogs for a decent walk, dull as it has, every day, rain or shine, eat better and suit the wine.

And the cocktails, though they were lovely! I made a Sazerac and a Bees Knees: first time I’d ever made one! DP is the expert.

rookiemere · 10/01/2021 12:24

My St. johns wort has arrived. It has helped me before it times of sadness. I'm not sure if I should start taking it as feel ok at the minute, but suspect surrounding circumstances will get worse before they get better and I appear not to have much resilience left.

Cismyfatarse · 10/01/2021 12:24

I bought myself something lovely yesterday - a heated throw.

From the chest up I will look like a slightly haggard teacher, on screen, doing her best.

From the chest down I will be swaddled and soothed like a newborn.

Hang on a minute, what is a mac and cheese van? Why don't we have one of those?

I'm cleaning the kitchen and doing some work so I can take time off tomorrow to sort out the inevitable problems with logging in to various school things all day long.

Lidlfix · 10/01/2021 12:35

Had to Google them Wouldbe - they both sound amazing. I am very lucky as DD1 and her DP met working in a cocktail bar when she was at uni. Which is factor in my weight or should I say weight gain.

My work clothes- nice dresses and skinny leg trousers are much more flattering than my slobbing about stuff but I would feel daft wearing them in the house. I really missed my nice clothes and shoes last time.

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/01/2021 12:38

I just wear slobbing about stuff when working but if i'm on a call I put a nicer top on and try for a flattering angle on my laptop - this takes much preparation so I avoid video calls if possible :)

WouldBeGood · 10/01/2021 12:43

I certainly don’t want to get too much of a taste for them!

I’m a full makeup all day every day person and even in extremis will keep doing this.

The medicinal spirits box 😃

At the start of the first lockdown, I had to dress as if I was going to work, it was the only thing that made me feel settled.

It's worn off now though........................

Invisimamma · 10/01/2021 12:47

Mac and cheese vansoubds amazing, you could bribe we with that Grin.

We've had the home learning info from school and I've spent the morning downloading apps and getting evrything set up. So far a much better offer than last time, a mix of live and recorded with far more structure.

Feel a bit better today than yesterday, I went for a long walk, bath, takeaway and started a new Netflix show.

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/01/2021 12:50

Last time I wore make up it was for a funeral. I used to at least shove a wee bit of tinted moisturiser, mascara and lipstick when going out - even to the supermarket. Now I feel done up if i've showered, washed my hair and put clean clothes on. In brighter news, I've lost nearly another pound this week despite polishing of a box of chocolates (with help).

Lidlfix · 10/01/2021 12:51

Wax - in between batch cooking soup I shall now mostly be experimenting with flattering laptop angles and backgrounds Grin.

StatisticallyChallenged · 10/01/2021 13:00

Batch cooking here today, combined with depressing number crunching. 2021 sucks already

anon444877 · 10/01/2021 13:05

I've clearly been doing today wrong, I went to lidl with dc1 to stock up on trashy home schooling crisps snacks which I'm now eating. I've bought but not installed printer toner.

I've got lots of Heinz soup in the cupboard...

I did circle a few unbearably healthy recipes in a book yesterday.

anon444877 · 10/01/2021 13:07

We've been eating a lot of packaged tortilla, cans of ravioli and falafel.

I did get a good deal on hello fresh and that should arrive in a couple of weeks and save us from my dire cooking.

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/01/2021 13:08

@Lidlfix I only ever paint my house in colours that are flattering to me :)

I find laptop on a box, angled slightly back so I'm looking slightly up helps with reducing the number of chins.

My colleague has her window to her back so the glare makes her hard to see.

rookiemere · 10/01/2021 13:09

Well done on the weight loss @WaxOnFeckOff . I've lost one measly pound since the start of the year despite cutting out alcohol and chocolate. It's quite depressing as I haven't got the energy to tackle full on calorie counting and this way usually works because I normally eat so much chocolate. The joys of menopause I suspect.

Still my newly dyed hair is quite swooshy even if it's not covered the ever increasing grey hairs as successfully as I would have liked.

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/01/2021 13:11

For snacks, I've been having pickled onions when feeling savoury, and small ice lollies (about 40 calories a pop) when feeling thirsty/sweet. Also low fat, high protein yoghurts keep you full for ages. Otherwise I think just been putting up smaller portions but mainly homecooked food.

I've not followed any diet or recorded in MFP etc like I did the last time I lost a lot of weight.

WaxOnFeckOff · 10/01/2021 13:13

I was intermittent fasting before and I suppose I still do to an extent as I rarely eat breakfast and found that I don't feel as snacky late in the evening as i used to.

Aurea · 10/01/2021 13:14

Regarding hair colour. This french brand is just the bees knees. So soft, shiny and natural looking with very few chemicals.

I have tried 6.3, 6.7 and 6.77 and they are all fab. 6.77 is my fave though. I'll never go back to the salon for a tint now as it's too good to bother.

WouldBeGood · 10/01/2021 13:14

I think if I quit wine I’d be a lot slimmer 😳

anon444877 · 10/01/2021 13:19

Same here would but then, I'd have quit wine! I may try and do a break from it. Intermittent fasting works well for me. I did fast 800 post lockdown 1 and pulled off 5 kg in 20 days but it was savage.

Wbeezer · 10/01/2021 13:23

@WaxOnFeckOff i wonder if you fell victim to the portion size creep that comes about from having teenage boys in the house, I know I did, I've consciously cut back mine now, especially the carbs, and my plate now looks like a childs portion next to the men's ones, but I have got used to it.
I skip breakfast too, its the easiest way to keep my calorie total down.
