@MamaTookMyEyebrows the walk and coffee were my plans for the weekend Grin. I may decide what takeaway we should have tonight for something to do. Thankfully DH out with rookiedog scaling the Pentlands, so I can sit on the sofa with impunity. Debating if I should make some lentil soup or start watching Bridgerton. Honestly it's a riot here.

Lidlfix · 09/01/2021 11:39

Trip to Next to collect my bargains hoping that they are soft and squishy (ok fat compliant) for WFH before click and collect gets closed down. Take away coffee, before it gets closed down to warm me up during my walk round pretty but popular park in case it gets closed down. Fave Chinese takeaway tonight before it gets ...

I am binge experiencing.

rookiemere · 09/01/2021 11:42

My friend was saying it's not home delivery of takeaways they would stop, it's just picking them up. Mind you she reckoned we'd go into Tier 2 in December and that's not turned out to be true.

Rae36 · 09/01/2021 11:48

I've finally taken the outdoor Christmas lights down, last ones on the street. I might clean the toilets, I might not.

WouldBeGood · 09/01/2021 11:56

I’m having scrambled eggs with feta. First time but very tasty.

I too have a click and collect booked from next: new bedding as my nice stuff was ruined by a pen ds had left in his pocket which got into the washing machine.

Then DP coming over and we will bbq a steak and drink cocktails

WaxOnFeckOff · 09/01/2021 11:57

@MamaTookMyEyebrows

So what big plans do you all have for today? 😬
I've been to collect my shopping and put it all away in correct date order, working up the enthusiasm to take some returns to the post office and then make some lunch. Forgot to take the meat we were going to have for dinner out the freezer so looks like it's spag bol for dinner.

Some housework probably and tree still up but not been mentioned... :o

I might even treat myself to a shower today.

WouldBeGood · 09/01/2021 11:58

Banning home delivery of takeaway would be a very city centric thing to do.. in rural areas you have to collect them.

Plus I need to keep getting to the Japanese place in uddingston

Sturmundcalm · 09/01/2021 11:59

I need to find a way to stop being grumpy... Just fed up cause the forecast had been for this morning having already seen a thaw but it was still -2 by the time I got home from shopping (an illicit but boring cross-boundary trip to Aldi). I'm desperate to get out for a proper 10+ miles walk but it's just too hard work on ice/snow cause I can't get my speed up high enough, particularly on downhill sections, and then I get cold.

We did takeaway last night so tonight is "proper" dinner. I was planning on having christmas pudding as my dessert - may just have that this afternoon and start daytime drinking Wine.

I don't think they can realistically stop takeaway due to the number of people who have inadequate cooking facilities/other needs. It's virtually impossible to write into law that people who are travelling for work, or need to feed their kids can get a takeaway but those who just fancy a trip out for a costa/starbucks/mcdonalds can't get one...

WaxOnFeckOff · 09/01/2021 11:59

I'm last to have lunch today and there are 6 eggs that are supposed to be used by today. I don't even fancy eggs but I' sure they will be fine tomorrow.

Sturmundcalm · 09/01/2021 12:01

I use eggs for about a week after their date without even doing the water/float test - they'll be fine!

Dinnafashyersel · 09/01/2021 12:01

Christmas 1,000 piece jigsaw was such a success with DD3 we broke out the "other one". It is all picture in picture and 90% edges - I am stuck. On a positive note DD3's eyesight is much sharper than mine so she is getting huge satisfaction from succeeding where I fail. Star

Christmas tree still up which is completely abnormal for us. Already had a bath and off to do the ironing.

Lidlfix · 09/01/2021 12:03

Wouldbe Steak 'n Shake Saturdays were a big (blooming expensive for 7 carnivorous cocktail fans) hit in Lidl house in Lockdown 1.

We all went to an effort to dress a bit and it was good for keeping spirits up and making weekends different from the blurs-days.

WouldBeGood · 09/01/2021 12:05

@Lidlfix sounds fun. I think I will glam up a bit!

We have a prohibition cocktail kit we got at Christmas- absinthe and all. Might go the full Gatsby

WaxOnFeckOff · 09/01/2021 12:05

Yep, i'm not usually that bothered but I do have another dozen that are dated for next week so really need to get a shift on eating them. It's DHs fault, he goes through phases and then stops without telling me so I can change my normal food order. He's taken a big tomato in with his lunch box every day for about 5 years and now suddenly doesn't and I wondered why I had so many tomatoes lying around, same with bananas and he was eating tons of eggs but seems to have stopped. I think he's doing less exercise so isn't eating as much. We had about a dozen yoghurts to eat in the space of 2 days last week (not that i'm strict on yoghurt dates either).
WaxOnFeckOff · 09/01/2021 12:07

OOh sounds like some nice plans folks. Hope we manage to get some relaxation and enjoyment in our time off (if you are off).

rookiemere · 09/01/2021 12:16

I have some leftover Feta - well Morrisons own brand salad cheese - might go down the eggs and feta route sounds interesting. I'm just salting some aubergines to grill so could stack it on top.

Gawd no wonder I'm not loosing weight despite banning of alcohol and chocolate- eating is about the only thing she can't ban.

WaxOnFeckOff · 09/01/2021 12:22

Oh, has rationing been mentioned yet? Wouldn't put anything out of bounds. A year ago we would have been astounded to be under this level of restriction.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 09/01/2021 12:25

We just cancelled our holiday in June, I just can't see we'll be in a position to go by then, we certainly won't be vaccinated so I wouldn't fee comfortable really.

So that's great. Apart from that DH and I are both going for an hour on the treadmill, in between keeping the kids amused. I'm hiding in my bedroom with a face mask and a podcast right now.

Lockdownbear · 09/01/2021 12:31

I'm thinking about booking a UK holiday for summer can't see foreign holidays happening this year.

anon444877 · 09/01/2021 12:39

Have foreign holiday booked for July...I really hope we can go!

WouldBeGood · 09/01/2021 12:42

Oh Christ, I need to go abroad. Need some sun and fun

rookiemere · 09/01/2021 12:44

Lunch !
Yes I suppose I should change the Lisbon May flights. No idea to when though. Don't think Easyjet has Summer 2022 out yet.

Ooh, @rookiemere that looks good! Adding aubergine and avocado to my shopping list now.

MamaTookMyEyebrows · 09/01/2021 12:48

I am taking the kids down for a run along the seafront. Might get a wee hot chocolate while I’m at it. Then DH has promised them pancakes so he can do that with them and I’m going to do some housework.

Tomorrow - probably exactly the same (with some work in the evening and a bit of planning for week one of home learning)

rookiemere · 09/01/2021 12:53

@WouldBeGood I'm not sure that avocado or aubergine are strictly essential Wink. I'm sure you could make do with a plate of dust or good proper Scottish porridge oats instead.

For avoidance of doubt there is no current rationing of alcohol or chocolate in Scotland except in my head for NY resolutions purposes. Annoyed I've lost hardly any weight I was mainlining Thornton's and wine towards the end of the year, I must have cut hundreds of calories off my daily intake.
