It makes sense that we'd be affected badly too then due to lack of vitamin d.

A friend who is a nurse who is on maternity leave has been told she needs to go back to work early as they are so busy, need all the help can get etc
It’s holidays she is using up now rather than the maternity leave.

I applied last week for the vaccine rollout to do admin Bank shifts and found out today I've been selected for interview. Hoping to do weekends - will mean working 7 days a week. Just want everyone to be vaccinated ASAP and let us all get back to normality.

titsbumfannythelot · 08/01/2021 21:07

Thank goodness for people like you lady Smile

This morning I read a thread (can’t find it now) about the COVID-related dangers of takeaways. The general feeling was that the risk was minimal.

Not two hours later I hear Nicola in her briefing say that takeaways might be for the axe next.

Is she just...scouring mumsnet for ideas now?!

Congratulations xx

I really hope she doesn't close takeaways. Dd will be gutted if I have to cook her birthday meal.

StatisticallyChallenged · 08/01/2021 21:32

Yeah, take my easy dinner solution when I've had a day juggling a toddler, homeschooling and a full time job. Thanks for that

Groovee · 08/01/2021 21:34

Oh man! I've just realised... Dd was meant to have jaw surgery last summer. Put back due to Covid. Planned for this summer... I really hope it doesn't get delayed again 😢 the emotional aspect was hard last year.

jobbyjg · 08/01/2021 21:34

@Iwillneverbesatisfied

My cousin has just caught Covid for the second time. He's in the police.
Hope he gets over it soon.

We’ve a family member in the Force, they got spat at last week breathalysing a driver. He shouted as he spat at them I’ve got COVID!
Shocking behaviour, yes he was over the limit. Some of the public have always spat at Police, but now! shocking.
Now no offence intended by this, is it a rumour that SG is considering giving only teachers vaccine early?

ladylunchalot · 08/01/2021 21:41

I applied via NHS website - that particular job advert closed on Wednesday, that was Lanarkshire. Not sure about the other health boards though, worth keeping an eye out.
ladylunchalot · 08/01/2021 21:42

Nooooo, don't take takeaways away......highlight of my weekend

jobbyjg · 08/01/2021 21:46

Thanks lady I'm in Fife I'll have a look

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/01/2021 21:51

I'm glad we got our chippy tonight then if takeaways are for the chop.

The queue was well up the road and it's obviously baltic. I'd prebooked. They have it on their website and FB page that prebooking is available/preferred but they do walk ins now which they didn't do in 1st lockdown. Anyhoo, i get the text that mine is ready so come out my car, walk straight in the "out" door (as per the process) and pay and take-away - rest of the queue then glaring at me as if i've performed some kind of voodoo Confused

Anyway, the streets were hoaching and that was about 6.15. Got parked without too much difficulty but streets were busy and was hard to actually get out my car due to traffic. Last time it was like a ghost town.

Groovee · 08/01/2021 21:52

@Coquohvan haven't heard that. But in a number of schools that I know off, it's the support staff covering in school while teachers are at home.

See we book and pay online then skip the queue 😂
WaxOnFeckOff · 08/01/2021 21:59

yep, I can't pay on line, just book a 5 minute slot and place an order, but it's wait in car for the text, pop in quickly, tap and pay and out again. You can even just phone if you don't have tech.

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 08/01/2021 22:06

Takeaways and click and collect. She's just dying to give people no excuse to leave the house. I remember someone saying that she doesn't feel like she can be seen to be doing nothing. So she keeps doing things. Even things that have little no no effect.

She'd have been going nuts at the number of people sledging in the parks today. I'm pretty sure transmission risk was minuscule but it's the kind of thing you see tweeted by the crazies.

MamaTookMyEyebrows · 08/01/2021 22:08

It’s not fair to take away takeaways and click and collect. For many businesses it’s all they have these days. Needlessly making it worse for them.

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/01/2021 22:12

Ban anything fun regardless of risk, sex with masks, no laughing, that must be akin to singing? No sledging, no snowmen, can only buy turnips or sprouts, can only drink tap water, no decorating your house, no flowers, smart phones only allowed to be used for 1 hour, 50% of which must be used to access snp college...

kurtrussellsbeard · 08/01/2021 22:16

Is this definitely happening or just a rumour ?

MamaTookMyEyebrows · 08/01/2021 22:17

She kind of threatened it at the update today. It’s not definite but it’s on her radar by the sounds of it
