I've name changed for this.
Had a wee look over on that page tonight as I have a ( possible ex) friend who's really active there and shares things all the time.
There is a post on tonight where people are actively threatening to take on the police as they have " weapons to match them ". I get we are all scunnered but I'm really worried by it. It has nothing to do with keeping schools open or protecting children!

Thanks for offering the screenshot Lidl, just checked and the teacher FB group has it too now.

Lidlfix · 14/01/2021 18:13

Is the one where the English teacher's email is shared (complete with her name) any good? Or are you only looking for primary?

Dogscatsandsparrows · 14/01/2021 18:41

Just reading the post about U4T/EIS on the STV news FB page...lots of "I'm a member and we never bash teachers" type posts.

You know when you've read/watched/raged at/discussed so many of this posts on other groups etc but then you read these "it wisnae me guvnor" posts and think "did I dream it all then?" 🤔

Then you look back through your folder of screenshots and realise it's not you that's losing it.....👍

Dogscatsandsparrows · 14/01/2021 18:41

This posts = these posts. Cheers autocorrect

ItsIgginningtolooklikelockdown · 14/01/2021 22:33

I don't know if a lot of new posters have arrived over there, or if some of the original ones are having a change of heart (the current figures must shock any but the most vehement Covid deniers, and many seem happier with school provision this time around) but there are lots of very sensible, positive responses Grin

Dogscatsandsparrows · 14/01/2021 22:38

There's a lot of posts suddenly vanished or have been edited on there that group today 🤔. Might also be something to do with the thread on the STV news FB page. There's a lot of people delighted to be able to call them out in a public forum where they can't get blocked and their posts deleted. I've commented on there but I haven't shared any screenshots. I've sent them to the appropriate authorities and am otherwise keeping my powder dry.

ItsIgginningtolooklikelockdown · 14/01/2021 23:01

I've just lost an hour reading the STV thread, it's hilarious! They aren't used to be called to account.

pinkclouds333 · 14/01/2021 23:06

I’m so bloody happy they’ve been called out on their awful behaviour. Bunch of complete liars and how stupid to deny things that were posted when people have screenshots! 😂😂

Lidlfix · 15/01/2021 08:20

STV thread is perfect! Without the usual delete block combo they are lost.

Cocacola12 · 15/01/2021 11:04

A lot (myself included) are in that group as they want kids back to school, and also don’t agree with the extreme lockdown measures.Yes there are bat shit crazy folk on it, but that’s the same as any Facebook group, or page. Newspaper comments sections calling Nicola Sturgeon Hitler etc.I don’t stop reading the paper because some people having opposing views to me. I don’t engage with that. I’m on a BST clothes group for kids clothes and there are some extreme views on it, and it’s literally a group to sell used kids clothes. Same as on Mumsnet. Loads of things I don’t agree with. I just ignore it. That’s life!

Lidlfix · 15/01/2021 11:35

I can't ignore threats of violence. I can't ignore disablist remarks. I can't ignore encouragement to record teachers and pupils . I can't ignore painstaking efforts from professionals being shared and ridiculed.

They are batshit crazy - agreed.

But not many batshit crazy groups are given a voice on MSM as a grassroots group.

While that still happens I won't ignore. And I am capable of ignoring most crap on the internet like the examples you mention.

So while their bile spouting continues I'll be there screen shotting the evidence. Something to break the monotony and keep my hands out the biscuit tin of an evening.

You want kids back to school with no restrictions or measures in place?
Goingdooolally · 15/01/2021 13:31

We all want kids back in school (I’m a teacher and my teenager is struggling) but not at any cost. Of course children matter but their needs do not trump everyone else’s. That’s what the hard liners in the group seen to think, hence the UsforUs.

Musicalmistress · 15/01/2021 17:15

@Lidlfix their current position, after receiving a strongly worded letter from the EIS, is that there was no mention of recording teachers. All posts with comments like that have miraculously been deleted 🤷🏼‍♀️

Musicalmistress · 15/01/2021 17:17

Sorry @Lidlfix just realised I'm reading this thread back to front (most recent posts first) & you already clearly know what's what

Goingdooolally · 15/01/2021 17:31

Interesting that Jo Bisset is now showing her face. Why’s that? Previously it was faceless “UsforThem Scotland “. Must be a reason...

Also I love how she says the attached- I laughed out loud at that! Barefaced lie!

Us for Them
ItsIgginningtolooklikelockdown · 15/01/2021 17:33

Good lord. If she holds us in the highest regard I'd hate to see what those who don't like us say about us.

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 15/01/2021 19:06

If you can't see it it didn't happen.

Has Mrs #dontblame us #educate us given up her daily protests? Haven't seen one of her videos for a couple of days.

Dogscatsandsparrows · 16/01/2021 17:11

I think she's got her own website or page now where you have to go to get the stats? Inform Scotland or some such tripe.

RaraRachael · 16/01/2021 18:40

Thanks. I must join up Grin

Bloodypunkrockers · 16/01/2021 18:49

Now using some poor wee soul in England's suicide to promote their cause

I'm disgusted with my friends who are members of this group

Vile

Dogscatsandsparrows · 16/01/2021 18:56

Ah it's on Twitter - but every time I try and post a photo on this ruddy app it never appears 🤷‍♀️

Just seen this in their page, information being collected by Education Scotland, might be worth completing the form if you haven't been sent a link from elsewhere
