I've name changed for this.
Had a wee look over on that page tonight as I have a ( possible ex) friend who's really active there and shares things all the time.
There is a post on tonight where people are actively threatening to take on the police as they have " weapons to match them ". I get we are all scunnered but I'm really worried by it. It has nothing to do with keeping schools open or protecting children!

...and loads of their members say they will not engage with any online work. How can a school actually win? Thank goodness they are just a tiny minority.

DiscoNapper · 09/01/2021 18:19

Re those timetables somebody has outrageously shared with all the U4T members - They've been moaning about online / live learning for months wondering why teachers weren't doing it and now that it has been timetabled for some it's too inconvenient for them and "how can they expect us to do this". 🤦🏻‍♀️

Groovee · 09/01/2021 18:41

Honestly they are all about whinging for the sake of whinging.

I looked through the work and as mum if I had a child of that age, I would be relieved. As an EYP with early years experience I'd be excited to be supporting that in school.

They've blocked Dd from seeing the group as she tried to join. Yet certain admin have the cheek to be on the Scottish primary Facebook page.😂 she'll be grabbing my phone daily to check up on them.

DiscoNapper · 09/01/2021 19:26

@Groovee oh do they? I thought SPT admins had removed anyone that was associated with that group!

DiscoNapper · 09/01/2021 19:27

I just lurk from afar and report posts left, right and afar.

DiscoNapper · 09/01/2021 19:27

Left, right and centre that was supposed to say 🙄

Groovee · 09/01/2021 19:43

Yep she's used my phone on UfT and searched the member list. What a bunch of cheeky gits.

kurtrussellsbeard · 09/01/2021 20:01

They're moaning that there's no work and now they're moaning that there is! Wtf

That poor teacher. You can see that's a lot of work there.

Bunch of bastards.

Goingdooolally · 09/01/2021 20:04

Surely the vast majority of 12.6k members can see them for what they are? They are turning people off with the moaning and nit picking (not to mention conspiracy theories...)

MintChocAddict · 09/01/2021 20:18

They're just awful and potentially dangerous to anyone daft enough to buy into the mad conspiracy theories about a fake pandemic.
They will never be happy, and prior to all of this I'd bet my bottom dollar that many of the more prolific posters were 'those' parents. The type that school staff and other more reasonable parents Wink can't wait to see the back of.
They'll keep stamping their feet and spitting the dummy no matter what's on offer from school while their (shady) leaders continue to fan the flames.

Dogscatsandsparrows · 09/01/2021 20:19

@DiscoNapper - the admin on the FB group have identified and banned a few of the more active members on UFT. One in particular needs to watch her back - my HT isn't the only one who won't have her back in school and any across the region feel the same. This particular member thought deactivating after pissing people off on the EIS page then reappearing with a slightly altered name would throw people off the scent 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Dogscatsandsparrows · 09/01/2021 20:20

any = many

Groovee · 09/01/2021 20:34

Ooh @Dogscatsandsparrows now I'm trying to figure out who that is now.

Outsidemum1 · 09/01/2021 20:35

I'll be honest, surely if they're teachers they would be facing a disciplinary board? We need to be very careful on social media and UFT is bringing the profession into disrepute.

DiscoNapper · 09/01/2021 22:06

You'd think so @Outsidemum1.

Also does anyone know the symbolism behind the smiley face profile picture? I know one of the main admins changed her name and profile picture to a smiley face but I've also noticed a few other regular, like-minded posters have the same pictures?

DollyMixtureLulus · 09/01/2021 22:19

It is a statement- masks cover smiles. I can't even type that without rolling my eyes.

Outsidemum1 · 09/01/2021 22:29

Ugh! 93 poor souls lost their lives today in Scotland. We should all be doing all that we can.

WaxOnFeckOff · 09/01/2021 23:47

Probably about 170 folk sadly list their lives. Some had covid on the death certificate, maybe the rest don't matter?

Goingdooolally · 10/01/2021 00:28

Yes and those with underlying conditions, like they don’t matter. Many of them would have gone on to live many more years. I’ve only just realised that it was Andrew Slorance’s funeral NS was at. I followed his story, devastating. Sad

There are (ex)friends whose selfish words on that forum I’ll never forgive or forget. People would do well to remember it’s public.

RaraRachael · 10/01/2021 07:28

I've just seen the post of that site where a teacher's plans were criticised. It's awful. A MN member has started a very good thread pointing out the dangers of live streaming of lessons so I hope some of them see it.

I have a friend who is a recently retired nurse and rank SNP supporter who used to go to conferences etc. She has been posting non stop conspiracy theories regarding the non existence of Covid and now appears to be falling out of love with the SNP. I saw her commenting on UfT so that has convinced me that she is truly bonkers Hmm

Lidlfix · 10/01/2021 07:38

RaraRachel - where would I find the thread about the dangers of live streaming?

Groovee · 10/01/2021 07:46

I have to say the us for them exposed Twitter feet is good reading. Some valid points about our so called "teechur". Very valid points on there.

RaraRachael · 10/01/2021 08:02

Have you a link to that Grovvee?

Lidlfix · 10/01/2021 08:15

Thanks Rara some food for thought there.
