I've name changed for this.
Had a wee look over on that page tonight as I have a ( possible ex) friend who's really active there and shares things all the time.
There is a post on tonight where people are actively threatening to take on the police as they have " weapons to match them ". I get we are all scunnered but I'm really worried by it. It has nothing to do with keeping schools open or protecting children!

They would implode.

EachDubh · 13/01/2021 00:37

They need to amend their invoice, average top scale teacher earns around 85p per hour per pupil (based on class of 30).

Live lessons would be so unfair to some. My kids would miss out on half their learning as I am in school teaching my full class as normal and they are with grandparents. They have to do work in evenibg, weekends and days off. Recorded lessons are inclusive and meet the needs of greater numbers.

The EIS have sent a 'cease and desist' letter to Us for Them threatening legal action if the carry on advising members to record lessons. Good.

Excellent news!
ItsIgginningtolooklikelockdown · 13/01/2021 22:30

Good grief I didn't know they were going so far as to ask parents to record a lesson Angry

Excellent. Wonder what the reaction will be
Goingdooolally · 13/01/2021 23:10

Bet they read this

RaraRachael · 14/01/2021 09:10

I'm glad the EIS are standing up to this mob. I looked on their page last night and was surprised they hadn't got wind of it and weren't howling with outrage!

Lidlfix · 14/01/2021 09:46

I suspect they have got wind of it and their "legal advisers" have told them not to post about it. When do they ever stay quiet especially about the EIS and their fave whipping boy? The ensuing bile and possible stronger incitement would strengthen any legal challenge made against them.

ItsIgginningtolooklikelockdown · 14/01/2021 09:47

I think their fb is heavily controlled.

Goingdooolally · 14/01/2021 10:04

I know it founds dramatic but I feel there are dark forces behind the scenes there. How do they have so much influence? Who is funding them?

Outsidemum1 · 14/01/2021 10:33

There is. Look on the twitter that Lidl shared - links with Tories / Farage etc. It's all political. I still feel the eis should be doing more if the admins are indeed teachers.

This is the best thing I've read all day. Bunch of arseholes. I didn't know they were asking parents to record lessons Angry
Goingdooolally · 14/01/2021 13:36

The Tory link to unseat NS and SNP would make sense. It’s interesting how the Scottish branch have a much bigger following than the English one? All my (ex) friends on it are rabid Tories and hate the SNP.

RaraRachael · 14/01/2021 14:24

I had a quick look at the English version and it seemed quite civilised and full of normal people. Not sure how the Scottish site has become the can of worms it has Hmm

Outsidemum1 · 14/01/2021 14:36
  • copied from the primary teacher's wellbeing page- Anyone still got screen shots of when they were sharing someone's lesson plans and the survey and posts that were specifically asking to name and shame teachers and schools? I have a contact in The Scotsman so happy to forward them on to him.
Iwillneverbesatisfied · 14/01/2021 15:06

it will be a GDPR issue or something to record lessons?

I wasn't happy with the first lockdown teaching and joined UFT at the time just to see what other parents thought and to see if there was any helpful suggestions etc but I then left as the group was actually batshit

Lidlfix · 14/01/2021 15:08

Outside mum I have screen shots of the shared plans.

Lidlfix · 14/01/2021 15:14

The name and shame ones are on Twitter as the delightful statistician and (her new website) tried to deny that was ever said. Was said by an admin...

The one that yesterday was saying she wasn't going to post her graphs on FB again until everyone went to view the website pretty please, please, please 😂

Has Paghnam had any further protests outside her kids school? #dontblameus

Groovee · 14/01/2021 16:26

That jo bisset is on the group with a reply to the EIS. Course there is no posts as you removed them 😂

If that’s the case (that they were deleted) then the EIS will have actual proof these posts existed, I presume?. Otherwise anyone could just make an accusation about usforthem to the EIS and claim it was deleted...
Dogscatsandsparrows · 14/01/2021 16:50

I know personally of 3 groups who are now compiling a bank of screenshots of some of the nonsense posted on that group and now deleted . My "favourite", which isn't to do with online learning, was the post where the poster was going to the school to "chin the bitch". No wonder so many pupils display disrespectful attitudes if that is how school staff are spoken of at home.

DumplingsAndStew · 14/01/2021 17:23

They are also now deleting comments where people say that admin asked people to "name and shame". Please screenshot these posts if you see them, before they are deleted.

Lidlfix · 14/01/2021 17:53

Don't worry Dumpling they have provided so much. Denial just confirms zero decency. Smile
