So Scotland has a press conference at 5:30pm, what do you think she'll be saying?

Same rules as England - or with a slight difference?

She usually likes to go one better so who knows?! 😩

SephrinaX · 19/12/2020 16:42

She always likes to have a slight variation. It's hard to say because we don't have as high a problem as South of England.

Same rules, possibly tiny difference but in different words.

If Boris is feeling evil he will delay until 7 then she won't know what to say.

HGC2 · 19/12/2020 16:43

Level 5 no doubt and how she didn’t agree with the 5 days in the first place!

SoddingWeddings · 19/12/2020 16:43

She'll come up with something deliberately different just to spite England. Not that anyone in England cares unless they work over the border.

ActualAl · 19/12/2020 16:44

I think we'll be limited to meeting one other household indoors on 25th and only that day. Also the 25th will be the only day we're allowed to cross to other local authority areas (only if totally necessary, as she likes to say!) Other than that I think we'll stay as we are with the local rules applying to each area.

LizzieMacQueen · 19/12/2020 16:47

How can they expect folk to only meet on xmas day, no overnights when there's no public transport!

I think she'll allow single people only to mix with one other household. ( Outside. With masks on. No alcohol. )

MarchingFrogs · 19/12/2020 16:52

Not that anyone in England cares unless they work over the border.

Some of us care, even if we haven't been anywhere near Scotland in nigh on 40 years. There are times when to feel happy, I have to know that someone else's life is even more crap than my own, but today isn't one of them.

Yours from the North Sea end of the Thames Estuary x

dancemom · 19/12/2020 17:28

Here we go .... how bad will it be?

mondaywine · 19/12/2020 17:30

Tell us that we are not opening schools for two days next week.

HigherHeaven · 19/12/2020 17:39

Closing the borders?

HigherHeaven · 19/12/2020 17:47

Uh oh what about our Prelims?!

Friendsoneuptown · 19/12/2020 17:48

No kids in school until 18/01 with the exception of keyworker children or vulnerable children. Online learning is to be in place from 11th.

HigherHeaven · 19/12/2020 17:54

That’s my DD’s Higher prelims up the spout!

frasersmummy · 19/12/2020 18:00

The kids hade prelims in January!!!! This is a major over reaction

JudgeRindersMinder · 19/12/2020 18:06

So relaxed restrictions Xmas day only, then tier 4 for the majority of the country...happy days 🙄

Lucked · 19/12/2020 18:34

So how is my single brother supposed to travel to visit my widowed mother when travel is now restricted to Christmas Day and there is no public transport. I presume that bubbles are actually exempt but we will need to see the fine print.

The single person in our bubble lives in England, I suspect that even if allowed in final rules we won’t go stay with them on Boxing Day as she isn’t particularly vulnerable but it is crap.

Callisto1 · 19/12/2020 18:48

I thought you were joking when you said tier 4 after Christmas. Bu you aren't 😭

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 19/12/2020 18:50

I've got a kid who's currently failing Nat 5. He WANTS to work, but his flesh is weak. He needs F2F with a teacher who can encourage him, inspire him and, frankly, threaten him because what your stinky old mum says is not relevant! He's got some great teachers who were doing what great teachers do.

This is a disaster for kids like him - there is a real danger he'll disengage with education.

Bridecilla · 19/12/2020 18:51

my brother is due to fly from Norway to Aberdeen then drive to the UK on the 22nd. Any idea whether he'll be allowed?

DecemberDiana · 19/12/2020 18:53

She definitely has an amplifier that turns up to eleven.

Bridecilla · 19/12/2020 19:10

Sorry, driving down to England

alicewasahorse · 19/12/2020 21:06

Does anyone know if nurseries will close too?

C0NNIE · 19/12/2020 22:15

No I don’t think so. No cross border traffic between Scotland and England.

But he could perhaps fly from Aberdeen down to London as a transit passenger.

Or he could change his flight and fly Norway to England direct.

Sunshinehousexo · 19/12/2020 22:31

@alicewasahorse I’ve been wondering the same...
