@RaspberryCoulis

And the second one being William Shakespeare is just genius.

I'm getting mental pictures of Queen Covid ordering staff to call round care homes to try to find a William Wallace, Robert Burns or Walter Scott.

We've got a 97 yr old Alec Salmond in here, is he any good? Xmas Grin
Bytheloch · 08/12/2020 13:33

😆raspberry that just made me spit out my Italian coffee (moves to Italy)
I can imagine that happening🤣
Or one of the Krankies- sticks thumb up to say it’s gone in ok 👍🏼

anon444877 · 08/12/2020 13:36

Kenneth MacAlpin(e) still a common enough name!

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 08/12/2020 13:39

My mum is pissing herself laughing at the thought of Nicola finding a William Wallace.

FREEEEEEDOM (from tiers!)

This thread is great!

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/12/2020 13:45

My Dad used to be a security guard at the old scottish Office building. he had the same name as a very prominent minister at the time. After my dad retired, he had couriers arrive on many occasions at his wee flat in quite a rough area with government papers for the minister... You'd have thought they'd have realised their error sooner. He used to laugh and say he could have made a fortune leaking stuff to the press.

I'm always butting in to this thread and jumping back a few posts but the talk of fizzy drinks has reminded me of a regional variation we bought in the Co-op in Portree a few years ago, im curious if anyone else has tried it, it was the worst one I've ever tasted: Moray Cup, lovely label portraying a person of colour of bearing a drink on a tray to a colonial type, bright pink and tasting like fizzy Calpol. It was disgusting but made me nostalgic for all the local soft drink companies we used to have with their own weird variations.

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/12/2020 14:14

That sounds horrible @Wbeezer

So tiers announcement is 2.20 to 3.20 - i'm expecting a damp squib and all 4s to go to 3s and everyone else the same unless they decide to chuck Clackmannan to a 4? Any outbreaks and increases will be put down to Christmas so I think they can get away with anything tbh. And it will all be our fault for forgetting the 6 foot crackers and personal gravyboats.

OP posts:
WaxOnFeckOff · 08/12/2020 14:30

So all 4s going to 3, even though some of those 4s are lower than some already on 3 etc?

Gold star for East Dunbartonshire halving its cases. The rest of you are still manky. Grin

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/12/2020 14:34

Stirling I think had biggest drop but no mention again

Shouldn't have been 4 in the first place though so just pretend we don't exist.

Has she mentioned Edinburgh yet? I can’t bear to look

WouldBeGood · 08/12/2020 14:40

Is this great beneficence to be bestowed upon us on Friday?

WouldBeGood · 08/12/2020 14:40

Edinburgh still tier 3

JamesMoriarty · 08/12/2020 14:44

I can't keep up. I think she said shops can reopen 6am Friday.

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/12/2020 14:45

shops in tier 4 can open from 6am, all other changes from 6pm, which means that hospitality can't open until saturday as it has to be shut by 6

and no travelling to semi dirty Glasgow for shopping if you don't live in Glasgow

runningpink · 08/12/2020 14:46

Thanks @WouldBeGood

I hate her, I actually properly hate her now. Edinburgh should be in level 2 😡

Are you tier 4s getting actual 3 or a variation of level 3?

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/12/2020 14:46

should have said yes, friday.

OP posts:
WaxOnFeckOff · 08/12/2020 14:48

we are getting 3 in Stirling, rates lower and also based on identified specific outbreaks and increased testing like clackmannan who currently have highest rates but retaining T3. Falkirk getting 2 but up till last couple weeks consistently had higher rates than Stirling. For some reason no-one is fighting our corner at any of these review meetings.

OP posts:
WaxOnFeckOff · 08/12/2020 14:50

Stirling lower than Aberdeenshire hat gets to remain a 2 and poor bloody midlothian told to stay a 3 even though they were promised 2 before. and Edinburgh :(

Bytheloch · 08/12/2020 14:52

Go Richard Leonard today- sticking up for Stirling and Edinburgh, questioning the levels.

WouldBeGood · 08/12/2020 14:52

Eh? No travelling to Glasgow?

Bytheloch · 08/12/2020 14:53

I hate the way NS then rebukes him, like a head girl laughing at another pupil who has dared to put their hand up at assembly.
He asked v.valid questions. Angry

WouldBeGood · 08/12/2020 14:55

And yes, @runningpink it seems unfair given their own criteria

Bytheloch · 08/12/2020 14:56

We take complex decisions, blah, blah...the cabinet agonised over decisions...blah, blah bull. Have a stab back at Richard Leonard and ‘telt him’ off for asking. The minions all clap. Urgh😒

StatisticallyChallenged · 08/12/2020 14:56

She needs to remember that being questioned is a good thing, it's an essential part of the democratic process.
