That candle is gold Grin

Yes Biking I know what you mean DH said something today about ooh weekend & I asked how it differed from weekdays - he couldn’t answer! I’m ok for presents but my “to sew” list is worse than usual & I keep spending my evenings staring at it but not getting anywhere for some reason. Took me 3 evenings to trace/adjust a pattern this week 🤦🏻‍♀️

Itison made me cancel a trip to north Lanarkshire to see Santa, because I don't like in north Lanarkshire. Ironically it's after the Christmas free for all has started, so it seems you can travel in order to crowd into your grannies front room with all the windows closed but you can't go to an outdoor event in another authority.
I was thinking about Blair Drummond but that's also another authority. Angry

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 05/12/2020 21:09

Who made Itson the bloody police?!!

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 05/12/2020 21:14

Aww, I'm glad you got there @JudgeRindersMinder - hope you have a great time. I love Tenerife.

Outsidemum1 · 05/12/2020 21:20

Where can you see santa in NL? Hmm

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 05/12/2020 21:20

@Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons

Who made Itson the bloody police?!!
I know. After I applied for the discount I did think that. But then I thought if I bring the kids along and they do have some address thing and don't let me in the kids will feel crap.
icanboogieboogiewoogie · 05/12/2020 21:21

Summerlee Museum.
Outsidemum1 · 05/12/2020 21:51

Thank you, sorry you couldn't go.

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 05/12/2020 22:00

You get used to everything being cancelled. Smile

Bikingbear · 05/12/2020 22:50

I have no idea where to see Santa. I haven't booked on mainly as I couldn't workout how Santa could socially distance. So I envisaged most would be cancelled.

I'd love to go to Blair Drummond but it could be a waste to buy tickets and then for them to knock you back.

Covidnomore · 05/12/2020 23:17

Living in Englandshire does have its occasional advantages. Especially in Tier 2.

We will have breakfast with santa.

And turn a few other things booked too.

Doesn't really make up for missing Christmas with the grandparents in Tier 4. But most of what we do is very low risk, and would be up the road too

JamesMoriarty · 06/12/2020 00:03

I've bought tickets for a day out next Saturday. No Santa though. Hope it goes ahead...

Bikingbear · 06/12/2020 00:32

Where are you off to?

I should maybe have a hunt about. This is the first Christmas my youngest really really gets the whole Santa thing. It feels rotten for him to miss out.

WouldBeGood · 06/12/2020 09:28

@RJnomore1 that candle 😂

WouldBeGood · 06/12/2020 09:36

I saw some food places in filthy SL were offering breakfasts with Santa.. maybe worth asking on a local Facebook page?@Outsidemum1

anon444877 · 06/12/2020 10:04

The botanic lights we had planned cancelled due to weather, plus the social distanced Christmas theatre as too risky apparently.

Bah humbug!

JamesMoriarty · 06/12/2020 10:18

The farm park in Clyde Valley, just up the road from us.
What about M&Ds for NL? Haven't been in years but I remember they always had something.

JudgeRindersMinder · 06/12/2020 10:24

My kids are way past the Santa stage now but it’s such a shame the wee ones are missing out 😢
That candle is genius-I may have to get one for my sister...Sturgeon (or Titler as we call her) passes within 3 feet of me at an airport a couple of years ago...the sights you see and you haven’t got a gun...

goodname · 06/12/2020 10:27

Surely if the travel restrictions are lifted for those five days we can go where we want?
We aren’t planning on forming a bubble as our families are massive and the fallouts over choosing who to bubble with would last for years 😂.
I Was planning on doing trips out to places we can’t go just now (all outside) just to break up the school holidays a bit. Blair Drummond was on my list as it’s prices are low just now 😳
Also can I just ask if anyone is starting to feel a little panicky about Brexit looming. I read that They’re planning on using military planes to get the vaccines through the port chaos. I think it was supposed to be reassuring but it just makes me think oh no what about all the other stuff that will be stuck in port. Sorry if that’s slightly off topic

JamesMoriarty · 06/12/2020 10:31

Anyone watch Politics Scotland there? Freeman wouldn't say if tier 4 will be lifted this week and "all options are on the table" 🙄

rookiemere · 06/12/2020 10:32

I think you are allowed to travel between tiers 23 - 27th December. Nicola will - of course- implore us not to.

I can't bring myself to think about Brexit. I think - hope- that some deal will be thrashed out at the very last minute and all this grandstanding is part of the process.
