Get the chips. With sauce.

littlbrowndog · 01/12/2020 19:18

Think the filthy tier 4s don’t get sauce

Explains a lot

Covidnomore · 01/12/2020 19:20

No brown sauce - wrong just wrong!

theotherfossilsister · 01/12/2020 19:31

hello, joining this thread now, thank you for saying 'hi' when I was lurking.

Gutted Edinburgh is in Tier three again, but not surprised. Walked past a lovely restaurant today and imagined having Moules Frite and a glass of dry white, or Beef Bourginon and some hearty red.

Wax, our cats look the same. x

weirdly, I found the last referendum exciting, but I was working as a freelance feature writer then, and it was because I kept getting stories/meeting people. I managed somehow to avoid the nastiness before the referendum, but saw some afterwards.

Waxon yes it would need to be private. I can't even get a NHS appointment for the 3yo. I know it's a 30 second job for the dentist to remove it. And I'd do it myself if could but I'm too scared I'd hurt him and put him off the dentist for life.

I'm mildly irritated by the narrative that Scotland is doing about the same as England in terms of covid deaths per population. I've taken some plots from this thread twitter.com/EasyPeasy_3/status/1333128060837765120?s=19 which are straight off Travelling Tabby.

I'm not an SNP supporter, Nicola Sturgeon gets on my tits about loads of stuff, and I don't agree with some of the Scottish govt policies on covid. But, I'm a scientist, and it's pretty clear that when things are generally good, the two nations are doing similarly, but when there's been a surge in cases (followed by deaths), more people in England are dying.

Are us dirty tier 4s allowed decorators in? I've spent so long indoors I'm starting to really hate my wallpaper.

Bikingbear · 01/12/2020 20:27

Yes the mingers are still allowed to get the painters in. Queen Nic still wants her cleaner so people are still allowed to carry out work in other folks houses.

Especially now that sanpro is free

Ps I hate the use of the s word, but couldn't resist the urge to comment along those lines there 🙈

WouldBeGood · 01/12/2020 20:32

😂 painter next week here

LizzieMacQueen · 01/12/2020 20:32

I'm not sure you are allowed decorators. I think on the radio I heard only essential maintenance allowed re workmen in folk's houses.

WouldBeGood · 01/12/2020 20:33

It’s essential

WouldBeGood · 01/12/2020 20:34

I promise not to lick him

I noticed this looking at the stats too. I have to admit I'm not terribly confident in them (from either side) as there have been a spectacular number of fuck ups. Good data gathering doesn't seem to have been anyone's priority.
WouldBeGood · 01/12/2020 20:39

Do the stats not vary week to week?

WouldBeGood · 01/12/2020 20:40

Scotland and England are both pretty horrendous in the world order

A conversation with a Geordie man he called them fannypads and its totally stuck!
Cismyfatarse · 01/12/2020 20:55

We used to call them either bungs or hammocks.

But then my Mum tried to make me use (her ew) old sanitary belt with the loops.

feellikeanalien · 01/12/2020 20:55

I'm really enjoying this thread but I have a terrible confession to make. I live in England. BUT, I am Scottish, I'm in Tier 3 and I'm only 20 miles from the border.
Can I stay please?Grin

WouldBeGood · 01/12/2020 21:06

@feellikeanalien hello..just keep your filthy English germs out of the Motherland and join in

Covidnomore · 01/12/2020 21:14

feel i'm the same although a lot further from the border.

And I'm Tier 2 (feeling ever so smug Grin)

Covidnomore · 01/12/2020 21:15

We do take a bit deep breath of that lovely Scottish air as soon as we cross the border.

And everyone must think us weird as we (well D normally) peeps the horn.
