Does anyone disagree with Scottish restrictions?

As far as i can see the spread started in Glasgow then spread to the areas around it.
NS failed to sanction them properly.
She locked Aberdeen at 82 cases.

Cases in Grampian and the Highlands are low. We are now being unfairly sanctioned. The whole thing is a joke.

NS doesn't have the guts to fully lockdown Glasgow.

Ppl in Aberdeen have less trust in NS as this goes on.

The public have had 6 mths of guideline sand information and if they are ignoring them, yes they are to blame. We were
trusted to come out of lockdown and proceeded to have parties, family get togethers what did you think would happen?

DosieHosie · 23/09/2020 17:47

Glasgow should have had all hospitality shut down. The figures are still going up there. Instead all of Scotland has to suffer because Sturgeon didn’t want to upset her heartlands.

LegoObsession · 23/09/2020 17:52

I’m very upset by the new restrictions. Can’t stay over at my folks even though we both live in areas of low transmission. It’s depressing and very unfair.

Scotslassie1 · 23/09/2020 17:56

So.. the nonsensical ' the FM hates the English ' has moved onto "the FM hates Aberdonians.'

Ecosse · 23/09/2020 17:57

@SBTLove

Or Sturgeon and Johnson could set up a test and trace system that actually works? People in Scotland are no more irresponsible than those in Germany and Italy or Norway for that matter.

The difference is that these countries all have clear strategies backed up by testing and tracing.

Here we have two totally incompetent leaders- one of whom is a better speaker but still totally incompetent. Only weeks ago she was boasting about how much better we were doing that England and wanting the border closed, and now we have the highest number of cases in the U.K.

peoniesandfreesias · 23/09/2020 17:57

She can go and raffle herself. She's never "spoken for me" and she certainly doesn't speak for me just now. I can't visit my widowed elderly mother but I'm fine in school with 350+ families under one (open plan) roof? Fuck off.

LegoObsession · 23/09/2020 17:58

She should have shut Glasgow hospitality down weeks ago but all of Scotland has to suffer instead.
I live in a area of low transmission but I can’t go to my mums for a cup of tea (They don’t have a garden). It’s total bullshit.

CheesePasty · 23/09/2020 18:07

I just can’t believe that this is happening again. I honestly believed that Nicola had it all under control over the summer but now we are back to square one. We aren’t any further forward that England and it just seems to me that she was talking pish. Less time showing off on TV and more time sorting out track and trace would have been a better use of her time.

WaxOnFeckOff · 23/09/2020 18:30

There should be a travel ban in and out of Glasgow and surrounds to be honest. It's not the central Belt as a whole, Edinburgh isn't that much smaller in terms of population any more but figures are vastly smaller and areas such as Midlothian etc have virtually nothing.

If this is the strategy we are going with then it needs to be done properly. If I was living in Clackmannan for example with 2 cases in 7 days, about 20 since end May and I was now banned from having people in my house, I would quite rightly be raging.

CheesePasty · 23/09/2020 18:36

It’s a shambles.

Tomorrowisanewday · 23/09/2020 18:54

SBTLove - the comments about the soft treatment that Glasgow has had is because the restrictions were much more severe in Aberdeen. You couldn't visit people in their houses, or gardens, but all hospitality was closed down as well, including cafes which didnt sell alcohol and were only normally open in the daytime. In addition, travel was restricted to a 5 mile limit.

EasyOver · 23/09/2020 19:06

It will be a minimum of 6 months living like this. Probably longer.
Can’t wait to meet up with my parents in their garden, in the middle of January, after a 90 minute drive 🙄

If you are allowed to travel that far...
EasyOver · 23/09/2020 19:10

Yeah, 5 mile restrictions will be brought in again.
My parents are in their late 70s and I want to spend more time and not less with them while we still can. I’m beyond fuming.

Bocadilla · 23/09/2020 19:13

NS has lost the plot. She’s making it up as she goes along. No one can be arsed listening to anything she says anymore. She’s lost her captive audience. Unless it’s law .. she can feck off. Had enough now.

EasyOver · 23/09/2020 19:21

I think she’s the absolute definition of “pride goes before a fall”.

Babdoc · 23/09/2020 19:25

There is no logic whatsoever in Sturgeon’s latest diktat, but one does not expect logic from a useless shower like the SNP.
I’m a retired doctor, and I am raging that I cannot invite my daughter for a safe lunch in my own home, but I am allowed to meet her in a restaurant full of potentially infected strangers. How much more stupid can the situation get?
And yes, of course it was a political decision not to lock down Glasgow- the city is SNP central, her major support base, along with Dundee. They are the only two places that actually voted for independence in the 2014 referendum.
Aberdeen by contrast voted for the Union.

EasyOver · 23/09/2020 19:32

What if you’re totally skint? No money to meet in a coffee shop and you have to stand (2 meters apart, god forbid you want to do anything unnatural like give your mum a hug) in the pissing rain in their garden? None of it makes any sense. It just beggars belief that this is happening.
I’ve followed the rules to the letter and I’m fast running out of patience with this entire farce.

Jodri · 23/09/2020 19:39

I disagree that not all indoor team sports have not stopped in Scotland. Curling has been given the go ahead by the Scottish government at the moment in Scotland (season due to start in a few weeks). Curling matches were played today in Scotland.
In contrast, Indoor sports are not allowed in England.

Scotslassie1 · 23/09/2020 19:50

Also EasyOver you can go into your elderly parents house- dropping off shopping etc / helping with chores.is caring for them. That doesn't change with any travel restrictions either.

EasyOver · 23/09/2020 19:53

They don’t need any help with cleaning/shopping. They do want company but won’t break any rules so I’ll be seeing them in the garden for the next 6 months.

waitforitwaitforit · 23/09/2020 20:02

You're lucky you can see your parents in the garden, mine are up north so visiting would involve an overnight stay so I can't see them at all. They haven't seen their grandchildren for six months now, and it'll probably be another six months till they can see them again.

EasyOver · 23/09/2020 20:06

waitforitwaitforit. That’s really shit, must be so difficult.

Scotslassie1 · 23/09/2020 20:07

Same here waitforit.
