Can we keep to the topic?

I thought this thread was about Covid-19 restrictions & cases?

I saw the BBC website report about 300 attending a house party - FFS!!!

ssd · 03/09/2020 18:02

I agree people who have lots over at a house party and think nothing of it will still carry on regardless. I don't know what can be done about these idiots.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 03/09/2020 18:18

300!! That my introverted nightmare Grin

Scotslassie1 · 03/09/2020 19:08

Must have been a mansion!!

WouldBeGood · 03/09/2020 19:08

I know! Big house too!

I think it was a commercial thing.

lookingforamindatwork · 03/09/2020 19:22

They will be the same bawbags who insist they don't know anyone who has had covid so it can't exist and wear their mask around their chin (if at all)

waitforitwaitforit · 03/09/2020 20:07

They're renting huge air b&bs and charging admission (apparently). So a nightclub with no licensing or safeguards. That'll go well.

Scotslassie1 · 03/09/2020 20:15

Hope the organiser is jailed.

SockYarn · 07/09/2020 18:09

And now Renfrewshire and East Dunbartonshire added to the list.

20% of the population banned from going into other people's houses because they can't get on top of a few bams having house parties.

Fuck's sake.

MadameBlobby · 07/09/2020 18:12

It’s nuts.

I’ll comply with that but I won’t be isolating if someone else in the house is identified as a contact like they introduced in the other areas. That’s just totally nuts. A whole household at home for 2 weeks god knows how many times when no one even has symptoms?!

MadameBlobby · 07/09/2020 18:14

And I’ll be fucked if I’m downloading the test and protect app when it’s available either.

SockYarn · 07/09/2020 18:19

I'm in East Dunbartonshire.

4 infections here today, 36 over the last week.

In South Lanarkshire, 10 new cases today, 79 over the last week.

We're locked down again and not allowed to go into other people's houses. South Lanarkshire are free of further restrictions.

It makes no fucking sense and it's absolutely unjustified. They need to be looking at the numpties having the parties. It's like when I was at school and the teacher gave the whole class lines because of one bam at the front who wouldn't do as they were told.

Fucking nuts.

angryattrauma · 07/09/2020 18:23

People like you are the problem tbh.

You live in an area of high spread which we are trying to get a handle of, and yet if one of your own household are identified as a close contact of a case, you won't isolate??

Sorry but that's just selfish.

WouldBeGood · 07/09/2020 18:23

I’m having nothing to do with any further lockdowns anywhere. I’ll keep my distance and wash my hands but I’m fucked if I’m not seeing people again.

chocciechocface · 07/09/2020 18:23

It probably makes a lot of sense to a public health expert trained in trying to curtail the spread of pandemics. It's not a punishment. Don't view it like that.

unimaginativeusernamehere · 07/09/2020 18:25

When will the restrictions be reviewed?

I'm in east Dunbartonshire.

angryattrauma · 07/09/2020 18:25

Exactly

@WouldBeGood

And this in a nutshell, is why cases are exploding again. If schools are closed again, take a long hard look at the role you played in that happening.

WouldBeGood · 07/09/2020 18:26

It’s all gone too far. We just need to live with the virus and get on with life.

SockYarn · 07/09/2020 18:29

Of course it's a punishment. We have stuck to the rules, seeing only one household at a time, giving information to track and trace, whatever.

But because they can't get on top of a few utter idiots having large parties, we're all to stay at home? Of COURSE we're being punished for the actions of the irresponsible!

Totally the wrong approach. Come down like a tonne of bricks on the idiots who host and attend house parties. Leave the rest of us to get on with our lives. We're not fucking children and we're able to make our own decisions. It's a fucking joke and I'm sick of this shite we're put up with because of this ridiculous idea that Scotland can be all special and eradicate a virus without a vaccine.

chocciechocface · 07/09/2020 18:31

You appreciate that the 'bampots' having parties are just a few ticks above you on the 'this is fucking nuts' opinion scale.

In THEIR opinion, banning parties is just nuts and 'fuck it, we'll have one anyway'. In YOUR opinion, being prevented from seeing people is 'just fucking nuts and I'll do it anyway'.

The rest of us frustrated as hell by the obvious car crash coming if most people do this.

Schools could close again - and even if you think that THAT is just fucking nuts, you'll have no ability to ignore it and send your kids to school anyway.

Why not just grow the fuck up and recognise this is a pandemic, and trained experts are doing their level best to control things precisely so schools can stay open and life can be as normal as possible?

MadameBlobby · 07/09/2020 18:33

@angryattrauma

Sorry but that's just selfish.

I have complied with every single rule since the start of all this pish. If I am identified as a contact then I’ll isolate and if any of us have symptoms we will all isolate. But the “everyone in the house has to isolate if one of you is a contact” is just nonsensical. People cannot live their lives like this. Being stuck in their houses for fucking weeks on end for no reason and not able to earn money.

I have done nothing to cause this increase. I have barely set foot outside my house for weeks and haven’t socialised with anyone outside my household at all. I’ve not set foot in another person’s house for 6 months. So where do you get off calling me “selfish”? Fuck off with that shite.. if there’s an increase in cases, it’s not me and mine that have caused it.

SockYarn · 07/09/2020 18:34

Because sitting meekly and obeying blindly everything you're told to do by the government without question is even more fucking nuts.

It's our duty to question and challenge. Because no fucker else in government is doing it.

chocciechocface · 07/09/2020 18:35

It's a fucking joke and I'm sick of this shite we're put up with because of this ridiculous idea that Scotland can be all special and eradicate a virus without a vaccine.

You know what, NS irritates the hell out of me. I voted 'no' in the Indyref, but this sort of thing really infuriates me.

This virus is not going to be eradicated. That's the fucking point. If we want anything remotely like a normal life, it has to be controlled. But that requires people to comply instead of behaving like the coronavirus is in a conspiracy with the SNP and their policies.

WouldBeGood · 07/09/2020 18:37

Agree @SockYarn. our council posted on Facebook on Friday basically saying “Don’t be naughty or you won’t see friends and family”.

The bams that have house parties won’t stop anyway. And it’s hardly surprising as there’s still fuck all to do. Not even the gyms round here.
