Results Day 2017

Eek it's only 18 days away!

Dd is convinced Nat5 maths will be another C. She's not too stressed about the highers results.

How's everyone else feeling about it?

we won't find out until lunchtime but are braced for the worst. thank God its the Nat 5s and not Highers and plenty of time to rectify things. Having two older ones who are through uni I have realised that it really isn't the end of the world and there are loads of other options. Are any of you taking part in #nowrongpath on social media?

Argh DD has been up and down all night. She's usually so much more confident than DS1 but I heard her wandering about off and on all night. 🙈🙈

Good luck to all the kids and mums waiting - even though it's almost 30 years since I sat my Highers I can remember that awful feeling when you're waiting for results.

(Although I'm sure back then it was around 20th July we got the results, definitely wasn't into August).

I've been awake for ages. DS now asleep after an unsettled night. Roll on 8 am.

I am working (well trying) from home this morning, when I checked DD1 was still asleep. My stomach is in knots, a bit like going to the dentist Grin, only the dentist is more fun !

Dd has tidied her room. I now have 3 large loads of washing. Keeping myself busy.

I've been wakened on and off all night! I don't think I felt so nervous for my own Highers!!! Not long to go now.

Dd is still sleeping. I've been up since 6 but that's my usual time. However the waiting is getting to me.
I just remembered that about 25 years ago when my dh was a (very young) post man he was offered £50 by a boys parents to walk past the house on results day and give their son a fright as they didn't think he had worked hard enough! Given where dh delivered the boy probably went to a private school. It was not the only time he was asked to do this but usually it was suggested as a joke and no money offered. (He never did it)

I've been told to wake DD at 10 to 8 then we are going to wait for the text together (unless she's changed her mind this morning and throws me out!! 😄)

I've been awake on and off all night. DD still sleeping. She chose not to get a text so waiting on the positive, which will after 11. Fingers crossed everyone.

I was on a campsite in Germany when my Higher results came out nearly 40 years ago Blush I had to go to the main block to ring home. I can still remember skipping bare foot along gravel Shock on the way back to the camper van as I'd got 6xA Grin

Does mean that there's no chance of ds matching that Wink

All A's and B's....DD is now dancing about the house in happy tears. Phew. DS1 doesn't really care as he has his unconditional but he's still sleeping. Wondering if I can prise his phone out of his hand HmmHmm

DS came in at 7.50 and we waited for the Nat 5 text together. All As apart from a B in Music - phew! No sign of email yet. Good luck if you are still waiting.

DS1 got zilch for N5 maths but A's for Adv higher English and History. He came through, mumbled the results and is now back in bed snoring 😂. He's delighted but didn't need these results. He's not even bothered that DD aced maths, he's just glad he doesn't have to do it any more.

B in Maths 🎉🎉🎉 and Modern Studies
Unexpected D in Biology as she thought that went really well.

DS20 resat his Higher Maths at night school while doing an Hnd at college. He got an F two years ago and a D this morning. It's not important, his conditions were to get his Hnd with a A in the graded unit and he met that recently so he's confirmed for uni. A pass in the Higher would have been nice, but he has ASD and finds Maths difficult. I'm glad he improved on his last result which was only 25%, at least he's got over 40% this time.
