Eek it's only 18 days away!

Dd is convinced Nat5 maths will be another C. She's not too stressed about the highers results.

How's everyone else feeling about it?

Might the results be in before 8 a.m? With DS1 (in 2014) his e-mail arrved in the early hours of results day so I was able to open it and prepare for how to react. There was actually no need to worry as he got seven 1s and a 2 , but as I was so nervous I felt I needed to prepare for good or bad news. DS2 is waiting for results tomorrow. He does not work as hard as DS1 but is possibly more clever - his results could definately go either way! Do I have to wait until 8 a.m or is that tme just what the SQA are putting out to stop people moaning?

WaxOnFeckOff · 07/08/2017 20:13

I think it was after 8am last year before any results were received. Just checked last years thread and it was after 11 when the results arrived by post.

When I asked DS1 if he wanted woken at 8 he said "why? the results will be the same whenever I get them". This boy clearly does not understand!!!!!

Groovee · 07/08/2017 20:19

Dd's results arrived by post very early. The rest of the post was the usual time.

She's at her godparents just now. They have a Dd the same age. So they have each other. But she's to come home.

That's a shame - I will be awake and worrying and would have liked to read them earlier. I like your son's attitide waxon Grin

prettybird · 07/08/2017 20:33

I believe that all the text/email results are going out at 8am this year because last year some kids were staying up all night watching their Inbox Shock

So those of you who have dcs who signed up for them Some of you will be put out of their misery earlier.

Our post didn't come noticeably earlier last year Sad - sometime mid afternoon Shock So I've got a loooong wait tomorrow.

Ds says he's going to be stating off all social media until late afternoon! Grin

IndigoApple · 07/08/2017 20:40

DD's text arrived just after 8 last year. I've just asked her if she wants woken up and she says she is going to set her phone so it rings when the text arrives Confused. I am sure if it was me I'd be awake already staring at the phone! I may be listening at her door! Blush

Figleaf · 07/08/2017 20:40

Probably a good idea Prettybird as it means Mums like me won't be waiting up either.

SwiftAnchor · 07/08/2017 20:49

DD told me earlier that her text arrived at 8.06am last year, she looked back to check.

I assume if she was signed up last year then she didn't have to do it again this year?

WaxOnFeckOff · 07/08/2017 20:50

I'm off work tomorrow. DS1 might wake to me sitting on the end of his bed staring at him :o

WaxOnFeckOff · 07/08/2017 20:50

Oh no idea Swift Ds1 didn't sign up last year.

Figleaf · 07/08/2017 21:16

it says if you sign up once swift they will consider you signed up the next year. I will be waiting with my son waxoff. Best of luck to all our DS and DD .

Palmreader · 07/08/2017 21:23

Im really nervous - DD painting her nails. DD worked really hard, praying it pays off for her.

WaxOnFeckOff · 07/08/2017 21:27

Hopefully everyone gets a decent sleep tonight and best of luck to all our DC.

dementedma · 07/08/2017 21:35

Ds didnt put in enough work for his Nat 5s and prelims were a disaster. Didnt sign up for text so we will have to wait for mid day for the postie. I think at the very least a resit for maths is on the cards...
And its our 30th wedding anniversary tomorrow....

Groovee · 07/08/2017 22:33

Dd is nervous. She refuses to go to her own bed 🙄😩

Makingalist · 07/08/2017 22:50

So nervous. Good Luck everyone, not long now...

prettybird · 07/08/2017 22:58

Ds has arrived home from Edinburgh much earlier than we expected and then snapped at us for discussing his "managed expectations" (we thought he'd gone upstairs but he was still in the kitchen).

Apparently it will be the end of the world if he gets a B in either Physics or Maths Hmm But he told me on Friday his "2nd" B (assuming his worst case: the other one would be English) could be either Maths or Physics or Geography Confused - he says it depends on how the assignment is marked.

YerAWizardHarry · 07/08/2017 23:02

Waiting on my results, scary to think this literally defines my future! I predicted myself AAAB after exams but I've lost confidence recently. My uni offer is ABBB so I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed

WaxOnFeckOff · 07/08/2017 23:31

Right. I'm off to bed, hopefully get a better sleep than last night (got to sleep sometime after half 3 and was up for work at 20 past 6. :( ).

See you all in the morning where hopefully everyone has good news and gets what the hope for/need etc

Teenagers are definitely the hardest part of parenting even though mine are as good as gold.

sparkli · 07/08/2017 23:34

Sleep is going to be hard to find tonight. 2 DC waiting on Higher results which will determine which uni they start next month, and one DC with Nat5s. I feel sick - they're currently watching movies and eating popcorn. Roll on 8am!

Good luck to everyone!

Cadsuane · 07/08/2017 23:40

Good night. I hope some of us sleep well. Wink

Migraleve · 07/08/2017 23:51

DD is expecting hers to be quite bad, she missed a lot of school due to illness (fully recovered now) and no mater how many times I tell her it doesn't matter she is still worried. Roll on morning.....

Mrscaindingle · 08/08/2017 06:01

Aagh!! something woke me up at 5 this morning and I couldn't get back to sleep when I remembered what day it is. We are expecting the text at 8 don't know whether to wait for DS to come to me, hover expectantly in the hall or get up. Will get up and make some tea....good luck to all today. I'm off work and if we don't get the results we are hoping for I may wish I had gone in.

Groovee · 08/08/2017 06:58

I've been up and down all night.

Dd has changed her message settings so she can see the text when she's ready and not on the main screen

Superjaggy · 08/08/2017 07:20

Morning all, both DS and I have had sleepless nights, but we're not expecting the postie until around 9:30am.

Good luck to you and yours!
