Just thought I would start this thread as the results day will be here before we know it as the summer is flying past!

Dd has already seen next year's timetable and has 4 exams in 5 days!

Not long now! 🤓

Steppenwolfe · 08/08/2016 21:49

Hope everyone gets good news tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you all. Our post doesn't arrive until around noon so it'll be a long morning 😯 I've optimistically bought cards and then we'll take it from there 🎈🎈🎈🎈See you all back here tomorrow!

WankersHacksandThieves · 08/08/2016 21:54

I'm with you Steppen - it'll be a long morning, slightly broken up with my baby boy turning 15 and opening his presents :)

Fingers crossed everyone, hope everyone gets what they hoped for, worked for and/or need.

seb1 · 08/08/2016 21:54

I am sure I didn't feel this nervous waiting for my own O grade results !!!

hidingwithwine · 08/08/2016 21:56

Last year it was almost 3 O'CLOCK before the postie arrived here. I was gibbering in the kitchen to myself and trying to keep DS1's spirits up. He's supposedly signed up for email results this year but just said he isn't sure that it went through as he had no confirmation email etc. I knew I should have done it myself Wink

seb1 · 08/08/2016 21:58

Anyone know over how long a period of time the results arrive electronically, I know the SQA have said unlike 2am last year, it won't be before 8am tomorrow ?

BeJayKayven · 08/08/2016 21:59

Yes, it's a text for Ds, hopefully it will come first thing.

WankersHacksandThieves · 08/08/2016 21:59

I'm thinking Postie might be busy and so later than usual. I was away from home when my o'grades results arrived. My mum posted them on to me - 2nd class!!!! can't really remember being that bothered.

DS says the results have been the same since he sat the exam so a few more hours isn't going to change them or improve them. Damn that sensible child - where did he come from?!?!

Groovee · 08/08/2016 22:06

I'm trying to get some sleep. Dd won't sleep.

I'm waiting on Higher English result need a C or more. Need this to get into my post grad for Teaching. How's everyone's kids feeling about Higher English?

hidingwithwine · 08/08/2016 22:10

Hopefully DS1 has aced Higher English even if he fails everything else. Like his mother, he can sleepwalk English yet maths is a foreign language. Last year he got an A1 for N5 and has enjoyed the Higher course. He's so like me in male form that it's spooky.

WankersHacksandThieves · 08/08/2016 22:11

Hope you get it dog it's Nat5s we are waiting on, so no clue about Higher English.

prettybird · 08/08/2016 22:23

I was on a road trip with a friend and her dad & brother in Germany when my Higher results arrived. I had to phone home from the campsite public phone to get them. (My parents then informed the Uni on my behalf and got my accommodation sorted).

I remember skipping with bare feet on gravel Shockback to the camper can! Grin

Lidlfix · 08/08/2016 22:26

Doglover, my DD was mixed about English with good essay question, average Scottish Text and struggle with RUAE. Her Folio is decent. English teacher here and had 3 Higher classes this year (buried alive in marking) and most of my pupils thought as hard as they expected, essay questions not great for our poems but a gift for prose.

I was in your shoes 10 years ago. Wanted an A - wasn't disappointed. Enjoy your course , what's your intended subject?

dogloverxoxo · 08/08/2016 22:49

Plan to teach Modern Studies! I found close reading alright, one essay question good and the other pretty poor, my lecturer was "very impressed" with my folio so here's hoping! Only need a C so just praying I've scrapped that. I did distance learning while working full time so it was difficult to fit it in and self motivate myself ha :-)

ootsideinbacktaefront · 08/08/2016 22:51

Good luck everyone 😃😃

Groovee · 09/08/2016 05:42

I've barely slept and kept dreaming that dd's results kept changing.

kua · 09/08/2016 06:40

Good luck everyone. DS has set his alarm for 8am for his Higher results. I've been informed I have to be away to work by then!! His reasoning is that he wants to have time to adsorb the news by himself before he calls me! WTF I will be on the bus at that time. My nerves are already shot.

Kr1stina · 09/08/2016 06:42

Nothing here yet . Last year they came about 2am.

Not that I've been awake every hour checking. Not me. I'm totes cooooool

kua · 09/08/2016 06:48

I've just had a look at the SQA site, they say the results will come out from 8am onwards.

dotdotdotmustdash · 09/08/2016 07:08

They SQA rep on Studentroom has been emphatic for months about the fact that they won't be sending results overnight any longer, just from 8am. It felt weird going to bed last night!

Kr1stina · 09/08/2016 07:14

I know, but they said that last year too . So I didn't believe them .

And now it looks like they were telling the truth < shock >

Kr1stina · 09/08/2016 07:16

Are you kids all getting up at 8am or do you have to wake them when the phone pings ?

Hope you get what you need , dog lover

AssembleTheMinions · 09/08/2016 07:24

I feel sick. Dd needs 2 'C's at AH maths and AH Chemistry to get into the uni she wants. I have two bad dreams so far tonight that she didn't make her conditions. She wants it so badly, she felt maths wasn't too bad (especially after the farce that was last years higher maths) but some stuff came up in chemistry that no one in her class had been taught. Sad

Good luck to everyone waiting. Flowers

Groovee · 09/08/2016 07:31

Dd is away to work. Not sure if the supervisor will let her check her phone or not! 29 mins to 8am!
