FFS. Feel like we've had three weeks in October, possibly November.

The football pitch my boys play on is approx 2 in under water, I kid you not, rain water, not flooded from the nearby Clyde.
Which is however the highest I have ever seen it in 10 years (including in the winter) Shock

Surely the sky must soon be rained dry?!

KneeHighScooterBruises · 28/07/2015 22:48

I haven't checked tomorrow's forecast

I assume there is yet more rain to come.

BBC ARE FORECASTING DRY.

I REPEAT, DRY.

ditherydora · 28/07/2015 22:53

I'll believe it when I see it , I'm off to put on my fleecy pjs...

gregorsmummy · 28/07/2015 22:58

Www.xcweather.co.UK is a much better website for predicting our very much unpredictable weather in the west coast, although only 36 hours in advance, not 100% accurate, better than the BBC weather! You could also try windy wilson on fb!

PacificDogwood · 28/07/2015 23:05

We use Windguru for boating purposes (yes, boats. Madness.)

It doesn't matter which forecast I look at it's all fucking depressing. 13 degrees max temperature. In July. The electric blanket in my bed is on FFS.

PrimalLass · 29/07/2015 10:39

xcweather is always lovely and optimistic. I check it if I need cheered up. It is the only one forecasting no rain for us on Sat. We have our annual village 'beach day', and some years it has been like the Med, others we need umbrellas. The kids always end up in the water anyway.

WankerDeAsalWipe · 29/07/2015 23:44

Here is a Public Service Announcement......

I have now booked a holiday to the sun from mid next week until Sunday 16th so guaranteed it will be fecking scorching here as it always is when we cave in and go abroad.

You're Welcome.... :o

KneeHighScooterBruises · 30/07/2015 16:37

Today has actually been better, Wanker Grin

Where are you off to? Somewhere nice?

OP posts:
WankerDeAsalWipe · 30/07/2015 18:06

Thanks KneeHigh

Yeah, weather God knows we've booked so improving already! :o

We are off to Dalyan in Turkey - looking forward to it now, original plan was for Yorkshire, Wales or up North.

WankerDeAsalWipe · 30/07/2015 18:13

You couldn't make it up could you?

Fucking rain forecast for our first day in Turkey!!!!

www.holiday-weather.com/dalyan/forecast/

Historic statistics say that there is an average of 3mm rain in August and a 1% chance of it falling in any 7 day period - so when does it fall? When we get there :(

AgentProvocateur · 30/07/2015 18:42

At least it will be warm rain there, Wanker Wink

WankerDeAsalWipe · 30/07/2015 19:00

True Agent....

ssd · 31/07/2015 08:21

look at the rest of the week wanker, it'll be scorching!

have a plan for the first day if its wet, find the hotel bar and relax in it, let the kids run around and find out wheres where.

have a great time

WankerDeAsalWipe · 31/07/2015 08:52

Thanks ssd. I know it will be lovely and the rain may not even last that long, but it's an expensive 9 days and after constant rain here etc. I was just looking forward to arriving in the sunshine. Think it's to be wet and thunderous when we arrive so hopefully it will freshen everything up.

Grin at kids running about though, DS1 just turned 15 and DS2 turns 14 while we are there. I think the only bit that's had any exercise over the holidays is their thumbs!

I do need to just chill and relax though so might be out on a sunbed in the peeing rain regardless Smile

ssd · 31/07/2015 09:44

oh same kids as me, they will sit for the whole time in reception using the free wifi, they might as well be in their rooms for all they'll want to do Grin

I've just almost thrown the radio out the window, was listening to smooth radio and Andrew Castle has just said "well its going to be another lovely day, lots of sunshine and a good weekend ahead"...arsehole Angry

WankerDeAsalWipe · 31/07/2015 10:03

Wait till mine find out the WiFi is free in the hotel........but we are not in the hotel, so if they want WiFi then they'll have to be out in public........with Mum and Dad Grin

And yes, Andrew Castle is an arsehole. It's hard to explain to people down south just how depressing it is. Especially when they decide to moan about the only rainy day they've had in weeks, when we can't even cut the grass cos the garden is splatching. Sad

ssd · 31/07/2015 10:43

agree

its even on the bloody news, if they've had rain for a few days in July, it pisses me right off

mind you, we went to Spain this year and I complained the whole time about the heat Grin

Shesparkles · 31/07/2015 16:42

I've escaped to Tenerife for a couple of weeks-I was here in May too (spoilt brat emoticon) and using that as a point of reference, on the east coast we have had precisely 3 days between my trips where it hasn't rained at some point during the day-3 days in 8 weeks!!!
I'm going to have to get dd to put the heating on for us getting back amn't I Hmm

PacificDogwood · 02/08/2015 21:24

Just back from long weekend in Germany - 25 to 30 degrees and sunny. At least my 2 youngest will enjoy a bit of a summer….

ssd · 03/08/2015 08:12

its really weird how there is a heatwave in Europe and continuous rain in Scotland, its like God's having a laugh at us.. and its lovely down south grr.

BMW6 · 03/08/2015 08:26

Isn't it caused by the Gulf Stream (or Jet stream?) being stuck further South than it should be at this time of year?

ssd · 03/08/2015 08:27

go away

Angry Grin
prettybird · 03/08/2015 08:57

It's the Jet stream (up in the upper atmosphere) that is "too" far South, with the effect that the weather systems are displaced and falling as rain on us

The Gulf Stream is the current in the sea which means that our winters are warmer than they should be, given our latitude.

PacificDogwood · 03/08/2015 20:42

The Jet Stream has been too far south for years IMO Hmm
Bastard Jet Stream.
And does it care?! Does it hell.

AgentProvocateur · 04/08/2015 08:04

Hideous is Glasgow City centre today already. Horizontal rain and commuters in hats and boots. Sad
