FFS. Feel like we've had three weeks in October, possibly November.

It's bloody grim.
I could honestly greet at the prospect of just heading back into winter after this.

We were down in Northumberland for a week and it would have burnt a hole in you it was so warm.

SOB!!!!

Behooven · 21/07/2015 22:52

santana amI wasn't it gorgeous! We flew to Venice via Amsterdam (very cheap but I know not ideal with wee ones)
Dh did all the driving, he's used to driving in forrin lands, so no problems at all. This was the view from our room....

This weather is fucking appalling
AmIthatsummery · 21/07/2015 22:54

Smile No let's not all go to,lake Garda. Its special. Thank you santan, i am going to look at prices for, booking my hotel next year vs Thomson crystal thingumy. See if I can get it cheaper. I was thinking today of swimming in the pool at 6 PM and it beings scorchio.

I hate the rain

AmIthatsummery · 21/07/2015 22:59

Beehoven amazingly beautiful. I'm on my,own, don't have a dhnto help, out so,have to bite the bullet and make it memorable for Dd and this year, DN too.

And it so was.
I love Italy

And I love my own country too, but am ticked off with the rain.

YouMakeMyDreams · 21/07/2015 22:59

Ds1 not letting the weather bother him he is out in all of it, even paddling in our car park on the last day of term.when it flooded. We have been lucky with a trip to Landmark and Blair Drummond though. Had rain both times but only a few showers.
Scottish weather gets a lot of stick but actually we do usually get reasonably good summers.
Fingers crossed for September, I'm getting married on the 19th. I even bought a dress with straps so I didn't have to worry about strap marks ha fat chance this year.

Behooven · 21/07/2015 23:00

Thanks Smile I've got a cardigan in case it's cold I'd be happy with just not pissing down.

AgentProvocateur · 21/07/2015 23:51

I'm coming back from two weeks of solid sunshine in Mallorca tmorrow. I have two huge cases full of wet, dirty clothes. Not looking forward to trying to dry them.

friendofsadgirl · 21/07/2015 23:57

I'm scunnered that I'm spending my day off tomorrow buying anoraks in July Sad

YouMakeMyDreams · 22/07/2015 00:16

Well Agent it had been dry where I am today but howling a gale. Actually got some washing put so you may get lucky

maybetomorrow22 · 23/07/2015 09:03

I've just put stew in the slow cooker...... It's July and I'm seriously thinking of making a pot of soup too Confused

OneNight · 23/07/2015 09:58

I've just looked at the local weather report and it's supposed to be hail tomorrow evening. HAIL! I have the heating turned off (which you would normally expect in July) but Scottish Gas are coming tomorrow to service the boiler and I'm very tempted to tell them to forget to turn it off again after the required test. The house is gradually cooling down and is approaching early winter temperatures.

MrsRossPoldark · 23/07/2015 15:39

Just spoken to Mum who says it's still raining and they've put the heating back on.

Updated weather report now shows two days in next two weeks where there's a little cloud, with a sun peeking out - now is that the heatwave coming?

NO - better get to the outdoor shops as we need to stock up on waterproofs! As long as we are actually dry we can still go out. Wink Who am I kidding?!

No such thing as bad weather - only bad clothes!

PrimalLass · 23/07/2015 15:40

Windy Wilson said it's going to get colder Sad

ssd · 23/07/2015 19:33

KneeHighScooterBruises · 23/07/2015 19:38

Today wasn't too bad (East coast) - just the one rain shower and actually warm-ish. Blue sky right now too! Although to be fair, I used to be warmer in the winter when I lived in LA. Why, why, why, did we move back?!

beatofthedrum · 23/07/2015 20:02

It was lovely last year and the year before. It's not all bad.

OneNight · 23/07/2015 20:21

I've just had another look at the weather forecast for tomorrow and the hail has gone and the daytime will be dry with sunny intervals. It will ony be about 16 degrees but I'm grateful for small mercies and I apologise to you if you're getting the hail instead of me.

Timeandtune · 23/07/2015 20:33

Well I am delighted that this thread has so much washing woes. We have a lovely Californian girl visiting U.S. and I was saying it must be great to live in California and be able to hang out a washing before you go to work. She looked at me in disbelief . Apparently no one hangs out a washing in California -they all use driers.
On a positive note she loves Scotland because it is so green and she even described Coatbridge as "cute".

friendofsadgirl · 23/07/2015 21:37

Definition of optimism: Hanging a washing out in July in Scotland.

Time, I think your visitor doesn't get out much if Coatbridge is "cute" Grin

time that's true, we used a dryer all the time. Ours, along with our washing machine, was huge and gas powered, and we only spent about $6 a month on gas! We lived in an apartment and weren't allowed to dry washing on our balcony as it would ruin the look of the complex.
