me once a week
dh three times a week

Blu · 17/08/2005 19:09

Loads, all the time, and whenever I like...according to him.
Never, according to me. Or about two thirds less than him.

emily05 · 17/08/2005 19:09

dh works all day and seeks solice at his desk with a strong coffee! So I suppose he has more time away (if work counts)

we tend to do stuff as a family so neither of us have a lot of alone time really.

I am lucky that my mum is mad about ds and lives 5 minutes away! so if I need a break she is bashing down the door to baby sit!

Mytwopenceworth · 17/08/2005 19:11

Never. Not once. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Zero. Not on your nelly. No.

Hence Large Mytwopenceworth-shaped head imprint on every wall in the house.

i think aq blue moon occurs more often.
or is it halleys comet i am thinking off?

charliecat · 17/08/2005 19:13

The reason im asking is because I think dp is going to compare me taking the kids to the park with a friend with him going fishing on his own.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

NEVER

I have had the kids 24/7 for the past 2 week whilst he has been working (he is supposed to be on holidays), I get no help whatsoever and if I go outside and sit on the patio for a while he lets them come out to me.He goes out and has a few pints 2 or 3 times a month.

PiccadillyCircus · 17/08/2005 19:20

DH goes out more than me. But not very often. He is at work all day as well.

NomDePlume · 17/08/2005 19:21

I go outless than DH, but not that much less. He prob goes out on 'socials' (not always sat nights in the pub) about 3 times a month. I go about once a month.

MummyJules · 17/08/2005 19:38

I go out on average 1 - 2 times a week. One for my gospel choir and another to meet a friend for a drink. If DP can't babysit I get my Dad to if he can.

juicychops · 17/08/2005 19:41

i hardly ever go out without ds. Probably about once every 2-3 months!!

Nbg · 17/08/2005 19:42

I go out far more than dh does but having said that, thats probably only once maybe twice every couple of months.

Dh chooses not to go out. He doesn't drink, he doesn't really have any friends so is quite happy sitting on his behind with his playstation.

fqueenzebra · 18/08/2005 21:26

I sometimes get to go the shops without kids. I'm also released for meetings related to the preschool committee, which is at least once/month.
About once every 2-3 months DH gets out on a meal/jolly paid for by his company; e.g., Alton Towers, meals out, and got an all-expenses paid, mid-week overnight visit to Dublin last month.

homemama · 18/08/2005 21:31

I haven't been out for a night since DS was born. He's 9mths. That sounds even worse when I say it out loud

expatinscotland · 18/08/2005 21:34

Me: anniversary and birthday
Him: anniversary and birthday

We're stony skint. That pretty much puts the kabosh on going out.

I've been on a few times (you can count on one hand) on my own with friends & no DH, then again he has an imprint in his settee as he never moves from it. (Friends of his nicknamed him Al Bundi).

However, when going out in general, to shops etc, then children permanently tied to apron strings.

Also, if DH takes 1 or 2 days off & happen to be when DD & DS are in nursery, then that's were they will stay & he watches TV all day? If I take couple of days off either have DD & DS with me or take them to nursery so can get jobs done in the house?

Argh rant over... or rather not but now breathe, breathe, calm thoughts.....

MarsLady · 18/08/2005 21:44

lots

SleepySuzy · 18/08/2005 21:46

Going out?? This is a strange concept. Can anyone enlighten me?

ThePrisoner · 18/08/2005 23:30

Wait till your kids turn 17. Pay large amounts of money for driving lessons. Pay even more money to buy them cars. Pay extortionate amounts of money to get their insurance. Give them yet more money to enable them to go out and socialise.

Then you can do what you want when you want, with or without your other half. Except that you haven't got any cash left ...

Angeliz · 18/08/2005 23:32

never.

no no no, hang on i tell a lie, i went out for 2 hours last Saturday to clean a stinking oven.

QueenOfQuotes · 18/08/2005 23:52

is this excluding his work???

If so - a LOT more.

He very rarely goes out (when not going to work) without at least one of the boys - or me - in tow) whereas I get out a lot.

jennifersofia · 18/08/2005 23:59

Hmmm, seems to be a bit of a theme here...
