How long would you expect before he tries to take things further?

My friend has been seeing a really sweet guy for 3 months. They go on dates approx twice a week. He seems really keen but..... He hasnt made a move on her. He politely kisses her at the end of the night. She's stayed at his in the same bed and nothing. I think he may just be inexperienced or shy. She does like him and doesnt want to lose his friendship but, is started to feel unattractive. She thinks he just doesnt fancy her. They are going out tomorrow day and she wants to take things further but doesnt really know how to bring it up and she would hate to lose him as a friend. What do you think is the appropriate time gap and, what should she say to him?

Okay, maybe it takes a while for his batteries to charge; or maybe he is a tease? I have known a few ladeez like this in distant past.

It is a very fine line that we aspiring gents walk, isn't it. gentle but ravenous is the order

i think your friend should ask him where their relationship is heading at least either way she knows and there wont be any guessing does he love me does he not. It happened to me i was sick and tired of the childish games so i asked him straight up and the answer was lets split up and the its not you its me crap. It might be your friend`s boyfriend is a shy one as someone said before

I think the best result would come by telling him that you are presuming that he just wanted a bit of fun; otherwise the "where is our relationship heading question" could come across a bit heavy if these guys are a bit on the young side?

Seems relevant to me that the shag came about once he realised his friend was making some advances that night?

If I were her I'd show some gentle interest in the guys friend.
Although actually the mate sounds like he's got more balls anyway. Far more appealing.

Ive told her to be careful. You would think once it happened it would be pretty full on in that department for afew weeks at least but they have gone out for drinks as usual and zilch again. Its strange.

i think the poor girl has the right to know which direction his taking it before she wastes too much time assuming things personally i would want to know i think by telling him i presume you just wanted abit of fun ... is abit like saying you used me. two dates in a week come on he must have some idea

kittya · 11/04/2010 18:40

Im beginning to think this will all end badly. Shes seen him twice since they slept together and he has gone back to normal. But now she really, really likes him and he really, really likes her. Its all abit a strange to me.

Just a quick update. They got together intimately one more time but after some thought she finished it and he is heartbroken she is upset also but felt that it was going nowhere even though she loved the social life and his friends. Two days later his best friend (who is a player) has asked her out. He always did fancy her and she doesnt know what to do. Ive told her to leave it for awhile at least.

first guy is a non starter.
If she fancies number 2 go for it!

TDiddy · 01/05/2010 08:27

..So "Mr Player" will make a move, they will have a good time, and then she will be shattered and fall back into the arms of the first guy...the way it goes....

I feel a bit sorry for first guy

kittya · 05/05/2010 21:18

I do really. I wonder how long a gap she should leave without appearing insensitive? Its always the bad boys that get our pulses racing!
