who initiated?

I am interested in whether your or your dh/ dp took the initiative at the very beginning, when you started seeing each other. Do you think it has made any difference whether it was you or him? I try hard to understand what went wrong last time, and maybe I don't really remember things right, but part of me wonders whether because he was initially shy / slow to make a move, and then I did, that affected his attitude later, ie made him feel uncertain about whether he really wanted to be in the relationship. On the other hand, we quarrelled a couple of times and then I had full blown courtship from him with champagne, flowers, love letters to make me get back together with him. How important do you think your initial attitude was to how things turned out later?

Yes he did, coz I asked him to.

We got SOOOOOOO many lectures on the 'flirting' thread that I'm a bit paranoid about it all.

I thought so too.

Rhubarb · 06/05/2003 16:07

Does SH's missus know about this too? And how do you know that it was a photo of him and not some hunk download from the 'Net!!!!

Not having a go, but I'd be really narked if my dh was swapping pics with someone on the 'Net. I wouldn't do it either. I dunno, it just doesn't seem right somehow.

Mum2Toby · 06/05/2003 16:20

It was just a laugh!
And far as I know his dw knows.

SimonHoward · 06/05/2003 18:23

MMM and Rubarb

The best way of thinking about what I look like it to think of me as the 3rd Mitchell brother.

Effeminate is definately not what anyone has ever thought of me, well not that I know of.

Mum2Toby

Feel free to describe away.

And yes my DW knows all about me posting on here and chatting to Mum2Toby by e-mail.

As for the pic it is unfortunately me.

SimonHoward · 06/05/2003 18:24

Rhubarb

The picture i let Mum2Toby see is the one I use on my MSN, Tahoo and Lycos chat profiles so it is hardly a top secret picture.

Just rather ugly.

SimonHoward · 06/05/2003 18:25

That's Yahoo not Tahoo

SimonHoward · 06/05/2003 18:27

MMM

If you are that dasperate to see my pic (god knows why anyone is) then let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Mum2Toby · 06/05/2003 18:36

Hi SH

The 3rd Mitchell brother is a good description of yourself.

mmm · 06/05/2003 19:48

SH - I think I can live without your picture thankyou but it was very kind of you to offer. I know I'm on about not having a sex life on another thread, but I'm not that desperate you cheeky monkey !

Mum2Toby · 06/05/2003 21:51

LOL mmm.

mmm · 07/05/2003 08:32

I'm glad I can raise a chuckle from you M2T!

Lil · 07/05/2003 10:02

SH with all these chat profiles you mention I am guessing you are a serious internet nerd? (albeit an Eastend tough looking one!). Being addicted to mumsnet is bad enough but if I used any other sites my children would be climbing up the walls with boredom!

excuse me for being nosey, but are you an internet addict? how many hours do you reckon you sit on the web? doesn't it drive your wife batty????

SimonHoward · 07/05/2003 11:08

Lil

I used to work in IT and yes i am a serious internet nerd.

I am lucky in that my current job can at times let me surf for large parts of my 12 hour shift.

And yes I do surf at home but DW is fine with it as she is usually on the other PC surfing as well.

MMM

I wasn't thinking of that sort of picture

Mum2Toby · 07/05/2003 11:10

SLAP< SH - I've just cyber-slapped your wrists!! Don't you DARE start flirting again. There are enough curtains twitching here already!

Lil · 07/05/2003 11:47

yawn..its like having a couple of hormone driven teenagers roaming the boards.

Mum2Toby · 07/05/2003 12:05

Lil - ????

Lil · 07/05/2003 12:22

Well it is!!!!! Every time I look into a thread with you and SH I feel like I'm peeking into someone else's private cyber canoodling... (I am smiling while I write this!). Can one be a cyber gooseberry???
