I have just shown this thread to DP.

He finds some of your attitudes towards men depressing in the extreme.

FWIW, I have been cheated on in the past BIG time. The man I was going to marry - we have to wedding booked and everything prepared. I found out a month before the wedding he had been shagging my "best friend" for months.

Do you know, they never met up late at night? They used to get together in the day while I was at work.

However, this has not stopped me from trusting others. I am not saying everyone should be like this because I know how hard it is. I am just saying that for every bastard who can't keep it in his pants, there are 20 (probably more) men who can.

A male faced with a female doesn't automatically want to shag her you know. They are not all sex maniacs who should get their nob chopped off before the ink is dry on their marriage certificates.

I find it very sad that some of you have such low opinions of men. Most of the men I know are lovely, faithful and respectful.

Going to someone's house for coffee after the pub in a group is not disrespectful to a partner.

Someone of this thread said something about most affairs happening in the workplace - how do you get round this one then? Do you stop your husband going to work in order for him to not be put in temptation's way? DP sits next to a really GORGEOUS woman at work. She is stunning. I am jealous of her (mainly because she is young and THIN ) Howvere, I trust that DP isn't having sexual intercourse with her over the watercooler.

I am roffling at

"I think there is evidence of shrivelled pudenda here."

That should be quote of the week.

scaredoflove · 10/12/2008 12:45

oh gosh, I would be wearing a big red S going by some of these responses! I have 2 married men that pop in for coffee together many a saturday night and I don't even go to the pub! I live 4 steps from it and they come in here for a coffee and to wait for their cab home. Been happening for over 3 years and not once has anything inappropriate been alluded to

To OP, I wouldn't worry, it isn't your responsibility to worry what his wife thought. It is his

chamomilequeen · 10/12/2008 12:53

scaredoflove

you are obviously a freakish woman

GraceGrapello · 10/12/2008 13:05

I have just been in my child's bedroom with a man and my husband was not here.
We did not have sexual intercourse.

ChristmasCakeYerbouti · 10/12/2008 13:15

Was he there to see your holly wreath?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/12/2008 13:16

Idrankthechristmasspirits · 10/12/2008 13:31

I have hidden this thread for so long but have finally succumbed to it's temptations and promises of shiny baubles.

I haven't roffled this much for ages. It's like a time warp circa the Victorians.

GraceGrapello · 10/12/2008 13:32

He liked my festive ring and wanted some stollen.

cheerfulvicky · 10/12/2008 13:44

I've never laughed so much at a thread on mumsnet...

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/12/2008 13:49

Yes yes yes. But what must his poor wife think???

Freckle · 10/12/2008 13:51

I suspect that Harman's manic sex-after-the-pub scenario was more like this.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/12/2008 13:55

Let's put it into context here. who wouldnt pop in to Harman's for coffee?

Freckle · 10/12/2008 13:57

Only wearing sunglasses

CliffRichardSucksEggsInHell · 10/12/2008 14:54

God this thread is LOW!

It's just your average typical thread and yet you have Mumsnetters who have been, up until now, fairly sane and reasonable, shrieking like banshees.

Posts from either side are just downright nasty and rude.

As for the patronisation and sarcasm - well this is Mumsnet at it's best!

I'll leave you all to scavenge then, since it's what you do best.
