So if you saw an email / text message sent to your DH which said....

...."OK so you need to meet me halfway. I need to be more understanding and you need to relax more".

Can I ask what your immediate reaction would be?

OP posts:
AnnasBananas · 19/11/2008 20:18

I would flip out.

lulumama · 19/11/2008 20:19

it could be a message to a colleague / boss

or a friend

a relative, maybe a parent

or another woman

don;t flip yet

ilovemydog · 19/11/2008 20:19

My immediate reaction would be to get more information, but at the same time sceptical about any excuses....

FeelingLucky · 19/11/2008 20:19

sounds like an email I'd send to a colleague I'd fallen out with

mackerel · 19/11/2008 20:19

I suppose it could be interpreted a variety of ways dep. on the current state of your r'ship with yr. DH and the context of the r'ship. It co9uld be work related - a diff. client, fraught mtg with a manager etc. Could be something else but do you have any reason to doubt your DH?

Twims · 19/11/2008 20:19

Would definitely be asking questions

GivePeasAChance · 19/11/2008 20:20

But who was it from??

Twims · 19/11/2008 20:20

Agree that when I read it - it sounded like 2 colleagues

Ronaldinhio · 19/11/2008 20:20

if it smells like smoke and looks like smoke....

ambercat · 19/11/2008 20:21

i would assume he was having an affair, and rather than flipping out which is what i did when i found similar i would investigate as much as possible before confronting him with the evidence. I would also realise he will lie through his teeth about every little thing to stop me finding out any more. hth.

shootfromthehip · 19/11/2008 20:22

I would be finding out more information. I here that grabbing someone by the balls and twisting is a useful way of getting a heads up

hf128219 · 19/11/2008 20:23

It could mean absolutely anything - what does he do? It could be work etc.

HandbagAddiction · 19/11/2008 20:23

Well - apparently it was from a colleague and to do with a difficult work situation. It good to get some perspective on it from all you wise ladies I have to say.

Normally, I don't think I would ever have thought any more about it - apart from the wording being slightly odd, but recently things between me and DH have been a bit strained and it just me thinking.

Love him to pieces - just life gets on top of us sometimes...

TheNewsMonger · 19/11/2008 20:24

who is it from. is there a name? or just a number?

tbh, i'd have suspcions, whilst hoping it was just a colleagues' tiff.

HandbagAddiction · 19/11/2008 20:25

Twas a female colleague....

OP posts:
TheNewsMonger · 19/11/2008 20:26

hmm, well, they may not be having an affiar, but each obviously wants the good opinion of the other if you see what i mean.

i'd keep an eye out.

HandbagAddiction · 19/11/2008 20:26

And to add - I have had no reason previously not to trust him, he is a fantastic father and I believe still loves me and our DCs..... It just made me feel really uncomfortable...

OP posts:
Ronaldinhio · 19/11/2008 20:27

why not see if it's still there

deletion speaks volumes

also make a note of the number...

knowledge is power

I think that's it Dittany and Mutt - it's the second half of the message that is not sitting well.
