What's the worst start to a date you ever had?

Turning up 30 minutes late

I was very young about 17 but I met the guy who was 19 and the first thing we did was go into a supermarket where he wanted me to stand at the end of the aisle and keep watch while he shoplifted a couple of doughnuts. Needless to say I walked straight out the store and back to the tube to go home. No idea if he got caught.

He turned up half an hour late because his car had broken down, wearing what can only be described as fisherman waterproofs as it was torrential rain and he’d walked 40 minutes from home to meet me. I split my hot chocolate over myself due to nerves. My car was parked by the river and had nearly flooded due to rising rain water, so had to leave the date early. We’ve been together 15 years now!

I was really hoping for that last sentence! I loved the first bit about him walking in the rain after his car broke down 💗
