Would a used condom still be wet one month later?

Help I moved with my fiance to a new house about a year ago. He never sold our old house but some furniture is still there. We sometimes go to our old house after date night for some sexy time as our kids are being cared for at the new house. We have been together 20 years and its rare we use a condom. What i found by the bed in the corner on the floor was a condom still wet but appears no semen. I used a condom over a month ago with him. My question is i am not sure if this is out condom i found as im sure we tossed it. I am trying to find out if you think a month old condom used out of packaging would still feel wet and oily? The next day when he was at work i went back to th old house and went through the trash hoping to find a green condom wrapper from the one we had used, but it was not there. Since we no longer live there daily there is a huge cardboard box we use as the trash and its mainly just to toss junk mail or paper products. I have not used condom in so long i honestly dont remember if one would still feel wet and oily after one month out of the packaging..please help im so worried.

Well
take one out of its wrapper and see how long it takes to dry out….

Came on to say that!

DrPrunesqualer · 14/05/2025 05:16

Blimey I’m nieve
I thought you were considering using it again

Have you changed details to make yourself less identifiable?

Because I just think the whole 'spare house' doesn't ring true? Like, who has extra houses for occasional sex that are otherwise empty and unused?

If you'd said it's your old house that you're renovating to sell, or you'd rented it out but currently have no tenants, or ditto with air bnb, I could accept it. But having a part-time sex house just doesn't seem plausible.

Sorry, no idea on the condom thing, but no semen in it is surely a good sign?

We had our last one for three years over the pandemic whilst we did it up before we sold.

The secret getaway was rather lovely…..😉……as long as the builders didn’t turn up
Its not really that outing

This may be farfetched, but a while ago I knew someone who allowed himself to be used as cover for a friend of his who was playing away. They all went out for tennis, and then the friend and the OW left together afterward. Could DP be "helping" someone by allowing them to use the house for trysts?

Edited

This, it was my first thought too.

Neemie · 14/05/2025 05:39

Who else has the key?

We still have our old house. After everything that has happened with doing it up and trying to sell it the very thought of using it as a romantic getaway makes me want to retch.

Got to say, I agree with all the previous posters who have stated that the condom would have dried up by now. Whatever your suspicions, I would also agree that it is time to do some detective work. Someone is having sex in your love nest other than you and your partner, whether that is your partner and someone else or someone your partner is giving access to the place.

I would get your ducks in a row before you confront him though.

BTW has anyone seen the OP recently?

Yes, and do this in the old house, in the same room. You have to recreate the exact conditions.

No. My husband puts (our) Condoms in the bedroom bin and I empty it weekly, and the Condoms are always dried out with like flaky white stuff in them (we do it 3+ times a week). They can be a bit shiny on the outside (but I.wouldnt be touching them!)

🤮 OMG, put them in the main or outside bin - the smell of semen and your juices just sitting there beside your bed while you sleep 🤢

mumuseli · 14/05/2025 07:03

Surely if your partner was cheating on you he would be more discreet, ie wouldn’t just leave it on the floor.
Could anyone else have accessed the house?

Annwen · 14/05/2025 07:38

I'm not in a relationship at the moment so I always have any partner use a condom and I find that they're usually dried out on the outside by the next morning, but with semen inside of course. And that's even though I get wet easily and don't normally need to add extra lube. So I really can't imagine how one could still be wet after a month, sorry.

Sunshineandrainbow · 14/05/2025 07:41

I would do a test run of one so you get your answer

BringontheSunAgain · 14/05/2025 07:45

There are so many odd things about your post.

You say you rarely use condoms but did a month ago.
Why?
Is this your only form of contraception?
What else do you use?
How old are you?
Are you hoping to get pregnant?

He never sold our old house but some furniture is still there

Isn't that rather odd? Is it HIS house or jointly owned?

If you're in the UK (I wonder if you are in the US as you say 'trash' instead of 'rubbish') it would be very hard to buy a new house together without selling the house you were in- is he very rich?

I'm calling BS on this.

I think there's more to it- or none at all :)

40andlovelife · 14/05/2025 07:45

I wouldn’t do the condom experiment. Its dryness/wetness is likely affected by many variables!

Listen if you know you didn’t leave it there then despite how dry or wet it is, it has appeared without your knowledge. You need to hold your nerve to find out where it came from. If you confront him and he has been cheating it is highly likely he will deny it and then take his actions underground.
As I said in my previous post, give him enough rope, open your eyes a bit wider. Hopefully it will be something and nothing such as he has let his mate use the house and knew you wouldn’t approve. But if he is cheating, with your eyes wide open you will find more evidence.

How much is it costing to keep this house going? I'm just thinking of council tax and standing power charges, you could pay for a lot of hotel rooms for that.

Of course the condom isn't still going to be wet after a month. Someone is using that house to have sex in it

Or none of this ever happened.

The bin has a lid!!!

Huh? What if PP’s main bin is in the kitchen? 😷 I’d have no issues with a used condom in my lidded en-suite bin….not in the kitchen bin!

Lavenderfarmcottage · 14/05/2025 08:36

Completely unrelated but since learning there are limited zero rights for unmarried women, under UK law, I think this should also be your concern. Twenty years, two houses, kids & you have zero safety net as you aren’t yet married. I would get married before you start doing detective work

Lavenderfarmcottage · 14/05/2025 08:37

Get married and then buy some ctv cameras. All the condom experiments in the world aren’t going to leave you feeling 100%

Chatonette · 14/05/2025 08:39

I’m not sure that advising someone to rush to marry a suspected cheater is a great idea. Even if there are financial reasons…

Posh wankipoos?

I’ve often thought that posh wan is a myth perpetuated by men as a get out of jail free card when caught out. A few men I know think same.

CheFaro · 14/05/2025 09:03

I wish I had a spare sex house…

It's not completely clear if she is a joint owner of these houses or if it's just 'sloppy posting' where she refers to the houses as 'his' rather than 'ours'.

I don't understand the occasional use of condoms. Either you use them all the time if you don't want another child or you're using something else.

Maybe OP will come back and explain.

Maddy70 · 14/05/2025 09:44

Lube really doesn't dry for a long time it's still inside rubber which is kind of s container. How long I don't know. Why don't you experiment and keep one in your bedside table to see ?

JifNtGif · 14/05/2025 09:45

what temp is the beaker for penis dunking next to the bed ? This will be the acid test.

Yes it makes no sense as most men actively avoid using a condom so why would they decide to use one when alone?
