I think my husband has given me the ick

I woke up with this realisation this morning and not sure how I can get past it!
For context we’ve been together 13 years, married 6 with 1 DS3

However he has this really annoying habit of shouting ‘boobs’ or ‘ooh boobs’ whenever I’m getting changed and they’re out. I’ve told him time & time again, I don’t like it, I mean, it’s not exactly a turn on is it?! It’s got to the point where I want to hide when I’m getting changed as I feel it’s childish - yes I have boobs, you’ve seen them countless times and they don’t need an announcement whenever they’re out!
He said it again last night when I was getting ready for bed and something in me just made me realise it’s a really annoying habit. It definitely doesn’t want to make me rip his clothes off, and in all honesty I think it’s given me the ick, but am I being silly?! How would everyone else react? Turn on or turn off?!

Eurgh yep I'd feel the same, my husband can be a bit like this (not about boobs but if i get undressed or something he'll make, what he would see as, a compliemntary comment), it's almost like they forget they're not a 15 yr old with their mates.... it really reminds me of the Inbetweeners. It feels very objectifying.
I think I'd sit down at a random time, and mention it stays with you and turns you off.... If you do it at the time he says it, I think he can shrug it off as a minor annoyance or banter, but if you pick over dinner or something then it's clear it's a big issue you've been thinking about! If he still ignores you, I'd be saying that's the last time you'll see them then.

100% agree. You've been married 13 years and your husband clearly still fancies you and is showing affection. If that gives you thre ick maybe there's some other reason. Rather him be appreciating you than someone else

Not being funny but someone shouting Boobies is not, in any way, affectionate. Showing affection is giving someone a hug, offering a massage, kissing them when they arrive home from work, rubbing their feet when they've had a busy day and all these things are done With Consent. Women aren't just bodies to be stared at and touched for gratification, it's like those men who slap women's bums and then say "it's a compliment", it really really isn't and I feel like people seem to find this a bit tricky to differentiate from real affection and compliments.

So many opinions in here, but a lot of manipulation, "tit for tat" advise, complicated schemes to withhold affection and treat him as a naughty teenager, so to teach the lesson. Maybe I'm just very direct, but why it is the problem to just tell your husband, I don't like it can you stop doing this? Pretty simple and effective in my experience.

It says "I’ve told him time & time again, I don’t like it" in the OP. He continues to do it anyway.

It's also not that deep. Saying tell him to stop or hes never going to see them again or putting him on a sex ban like some people are suggesting is ridiculous. If you don't like your husband leave him. I'm bored of this conversation now goodbye!!

Erugh no, I’d be getting changed in the bathroom til he grows up. Especially if you e already told him it annoys you x

angelfacecuti75 · 28/03/2025 01:04

Tell him ..."this really isn't a turn on you know, in fact it puts me off having sex because I feel like that's all you see...and it makes me feel objectified and to run away from you...not have sex with you."
Let the chips fall where they may.

It would get on my nerves swiftly and not the good ones.
