My husband is still asleep . Since 11 last night . Should I wake him ? I don't think he would want to sleep his whole day away , surely he needs a wee 😂 I'm missing him as we usually spend our sat days together . He obviously really needs it . Bless his little socks . Just a Ramble post really as I could never sleep like that and I can't believe he's still asleep 😂 xx

Wake him up and ask him if he wants you to wake him up.

He needs urgent mental health care. Excessive daytime sleeping is a sign of severe depression. Ring you local crisis home treatment team now and explain the situation.

Failing that, A&E

As a one-off?!

What are A&E going to do - diagnose him with severe tiredness? If so, I wonder what remedy they might possibly recommend he employ to deal with that as a result of an occasional case?!

Notimeforaname · 18/01/2025 14:45

Mumsnet is extra hilarious today 😆

irregularegular · 18/01/2025 14:46

Blimey, unless he has been very unwell or has reason to be seriously exhausted I would be worried! In fact, I would be worried anyway. No-one sleeps that long normally??

behappybee · 18/01/2025 14:47

@HollyKnight these comments are hilarious and entertaining me . Karen's you'll be pleased to know I'm not bored any more 😂😂

My poor partner worked until 1 am last night (he's a crisis worker), we only see eachother weekends and he's fast asleep.

I stayed up last night to wait for him ( we don't live together) , and I'm awake now missing him.

I get it OP.

Nutters. Between this now and the biscuit thread, I don’t know what’s going on here.

@Megifer I just think it's unusual for someone to sleep this long tbh . Just wondered if I should wake him or leave him and thought I would ask for an opinion. What do you mean by drip feed ?

When I was childfree and in my 20s this was normal on a weekend

brassandswitch · 18/01/2025 14:49

Jesus! Wish my partner would do this. We went to bed at 1am after doing a puzzle and a bottle of wine and he was up by 7am

StormingNorman · 18/01/2025 14:49

I can’t leave the thread until this legend wakes up now 😂

behappybee · 18/01/2025 14:51

He's just woke up hurrah . So that's almost 16 hours of sleep . He's got a stinking headache he said I'm so sorry. I said don't be silly are you feeling okay he said he's not sure 🥴 . Had a very very long wee and said he's starving ! I've suggested a film day and a chill he seems really groggy . Least he hasn't done a rip van winkle on me . Best go and smother him with all my neediness now 😅🫠🫠🫠🫠 no jokes I'll make him a brew

I know you are just having a laugh and I hate to be that person but don't use "Karen/ Karen's ". It's a horrible slur used to shut women up. There is not a male equivalent

ClareBlue · 18/01/2025 14:51

Get back into bed with him and snuggle him. It's the best thing on the world to wake up after a long sleep warm and cuddled by a loving partner. Plenty of opportunities for walks and meals. Cost nothing too.

Prone to a bit of misogyny though.

@3luckystars what's the biscuit thread 😂😂

I'm amazed that some people on here are lucky enough to never have been just so tired in life that all they want to do on the odd occasion is crash and sleep in all day on a Saturday.

I wonder if they also diligently weigh all their food, to make sure that their portion doesn't accidentally waver a gram or two over and proclaim, like a Soviet scientist: "No, that is sufficient!"

TENSsion · 18/01/2025 14:52

Got to be a pub dinner/ take away kind of day now surely?

RedHelenB · 18/01/2025 14:52

Let him wake up naturally. He obviously needs this sleep for whatever reason.

Love this update OP it really made me smile/laugh! Sounds like a lovely rest of the day planned and glad you managed to pass some of the time reading some of the ridiculous comments 😅

WhiteLily1 · 18/01/2025 14:54

Really confused. Do you and your husband have different rooms orive in different properties or something?
When you wake in the morning, don’t you bring him a cup of tea or coffee and gently wake him up for the day?

Megifer · 18/01/2025 14:54

More to the point, no one has been even slightly "Karen" anyway 🙄

Cattery · 18/01/2025 14:54

I’d be enjoying the peace and making sure I didn’t tread on a creaky floorboard and wake him up

ScribblingPixie · 18/01/2025 14:55

I'd get him on vitamin D, OP.
