My husband is still asleep . Since 11 last night . Should I wake him ? I don't think he would want to sleep his whole day away , surely he needs a wee 😂 I'm missing him as we usually spend our sat days together . He obviously really needs it . Bless his little socks . Just a Ramble post really as I could never sleep like that and I can't believe he's still asleep 😂 xx

This is how this would go if it was me:

<whisper/light nudging> "Hey DH, it's 2pm, just wondered if you wanted to get up or shall I fuck off and leave you alone?"

Job done 😂

behappybee · 18/01/2025 14:06

@DaringLion not sure I get it ?

Is he breathing?

Sakura7 · 18/01/2025 14:08

I don't think it's healthy to be so dependent on someone else for stimulation that spending a couple of hours alone makes you bored.

There are so many things you could do. Go for a walk yourself, read a book, watch something, have a bath, listen to a podcast, go to the shops, etc.

Clearly your partner needs to catch up on sleep today, just leave him to it.

Notimeforaname · 18/01/2025 14:09

Go the shop and get things for a nice brunch for when he wakes up.

behappybee · 18/01/2025 14:10

@DaringLion oh yeh 😂 of course! Yeh he's breathing well actually snoring his head off. Star fished , mouth wide open . Fast fast fast asleep

Just here for the confirmation that he is in fact still breathing.

Edit: Ah there we are! All good.

behappybee · 18/01/2025 14:11

@Notimeforaname this . I'm going to do this . Good idea . It will be the first thing he says when he gets up . I'm starving !!

Totally get it OP, most of the day has gone now and if I was with someone I loved I would want to spend the day with them too, not hang around for them to wake up!

Does he have health issues or just knackered from the working week?

behappybee · 18/01/2025 14:12

@Sakura7 not really dependent enjoying time with my husband 🫠

shamelessly place marking, although unfortunately the batshit weekend threads usually end up getting deleted when it gets interesting…😛

behappybee · 18/01/2025 14:15

@Kebabbky thanks lovely 😊 That's exactly it .

No health conditions but definitely tired from work . But I didn't think this tired 😂 I wonder what time he will actually wake up could you imagine if it's like 6 tonight .

Partner always does that for me if I sleep in. Because as well as being hungry, I'm always annoyed that I slept in and it cheers me up.
What you gonna make?

pinkhimalayan · 18/01/2025 14:17

Bless, although 11-2 does seem excessive!

behappybee · 18/01/2025 14:17

@PaigeMac
Shall we start a what time he will wake bet I'm going with 5 then he will see it's dark and think it's still nighttime and go back to sleep 😂😂

Bloody hell, have you only been married a week and still on your honeymoon by any chance?! 🤣
I'd be chuffed to little mint balls if mine would have a lie in, beyond 6am at least! But no, work day or not, alarm set or not, 05-30 or just before, every morning without fail!

I'm saying only another hour or so. Half 3. Place your bets now.

weegiemum · 18/01/2025 14:20

My dh is still asleep as well (though he did get up and let the dog out at 8:30!). He has sleep apnea (doesn't sleep well even with the CPAP) and his dad died a fortnight ago so it's been all go since Christmas.

I'd have wanted to go for lunch or something if he was awake but instead just had some bread and pretty much the last of the Christmas cheese. And bingo! He'd put a bottle of wine in the fridge too last night so I've had a glass of that too!

Hope you can spend some nice time together tomorrow!

@Sakura7 not really dependent enjoying time with my husband 🫠

Sounds dependant to me if you can't enjoy your own company and you're bored ?

Barney16 · 18/01/2025 14:21

I'd be ecstatic. Men are a lot less trouble when asleep.

behappybee · 18/01/2025 14:23

@weegiemum ahh bless him I hope he's enjoying his much needed sleep and you're enjoying you're wine . Sending a virtual hug xx

What time did he go to bed? Mine was up at 11am but he went to bed at 4am.

I like it because I can get a lot done in the time before he gets up and he's not in the way or making things worse before I can make them better😂

Some of us enjoy spending time with our partners. Weird concept for MN I know.

3luckystars · 18/01/2025 14:27

No you should not wake him.

DalzielOrNoDalzielAndDontPascoe · 18/01/2025 14:29

If it's not something he does all the time - spending half of his life in bed - just let him catch up on his sleep on this occasion. He might just be exhausted or, as PP said, his body might be fighting off the beginnings of a bug or something.

Healthy non-compromised (and sober) adult bodies won't normally wet the bed, however long they sleep, as your body can 'shut off' the desire to wee until absolutely necessary whilst asleep. Once the point of 'this wee ain't waiting any longer' is reached, it will usually automatically wake you up and have you dashing to the toilet.

ScruffMuffin · 18/01/2025 14:29

I'd take him tea, shake him awake, and ask if he wants to stay there or get up, as it's afternoon.

Failing that, have a bit of fun. Paint his nails or something!
