Domestic abuse but nowhere to go?

Chloe8909 · 28/12/2024 02:06

My boyfriend is extremely abusive, but I have nowhere to go if I leave
I have a dog too. It has got really bad recently,I have had black eyes and bruises all over but I have no idea what I can do

On Christmas day I took too long walking my dog,so he held me under a cold shower

I had my own apartment before we met but he convinced me to move in with him. I have been so stupid
I don't have much contact with friends anymore and no contact at all with my parents.
He stopped all contact with my family after he asked my dad for a loan for a business and my dad said no. He know my dad has plenty of money,so took this really badly.

I cannot contact my mum or dad for help as I haven't spoken to them for months and bf texted them pretending to be me telling them I want nothing to do with them and many awful things.

I'm stuck with nowhere to go. I can't leave my dog
He's away for a stag do until late Sunday
What can I do ? Just try and save a little money to leave eventually?

I know it's late but I cannot sleep

Take your dog to a shelter and explain your situation, then talk to crisis homeless charity, women’s aid and safer places.
get out now before he really hurts you beyond all help.

TwinkleLights24 · 28/12/2024 11:33

Stop worrying about the messages. They will just want you safe.

You have the perfect opportunity to leave while he’s away. The alternative is you stay and he eventually causes you serious harm, if not worse.

leia24 · 28/12/2024 11:35

Ring your parents or just pack your important stuff and take your dog and go to your mum and dad's. They'll forgive you and have hou home because you haven't done anything and they're probably worried sick about you

Hurdlin · 28/12/2024 11:37

Please phone your parents. They must be worried sick about you and will probably have realised the messages weren't from you and were out of character.

This is your chance to leave, just call them.

Catoo · 28/12/2024 11:39

I hope you and your dog are now with your parents.

They will be relieved that you got away from him.

OP, please, please, please CONTACT YOUR PARENTS. They’ll help you.

I was stuck in a bad situation for almost a decade because I was too embarrassed and beaten down to ask my family for help. Just go home.

Santaisinbedalready · 28/12/2024 11:47

Travellodge allow ddogs op. My mate stayed 2 weeks with hers recently fleeing violence from a neighbour...

Did you have have a suspicion that she didn't send those messages?

No we had no idea. We thought she had been vile but she is always family no matter what. Hope you’re okay.

Brilliant news OP.
Block him on every possible channel. If he turns up at your parents’ house, don’t let him in. Tell him to leave or you will call the police. These abusive men can get very dangerous when you leave them. Take no chances.

So glad you and doggo are safe.

💐

ItsFreedomBabyYeah · 28/12/2024 18:15

@Chloe8909 Please don't go back to him! Ever. No matter what he says or does. Block him. File a police report. Stay safe. Onwards and upwards.
