Is this is a normal way to have sex?

You know on TV how couples burst the front door open, and start stripping each other while passionately kissing all the way to the bedroom - is that actually a thing?! Reassure me please that even in the first throes it's not like that for anyone in real life!

Ahhh, memories.

AgentProvocateur · 21/06/2023 12:55

After 35 years of marriage, DH and I strip off our clothes as soon as we come in the door………(but that’s because it’s 38 degrees here! And too hot for sex.)

At the beginning yes, not so much now. When he left this morning he shook his knob at me and asked if I wanted some dick later. Pretty standard behaviour.
I've never understood how they make face to face standup sex look so easy on tv.

Face to face standup sex is easy if your boys are at the right heights and line up. If they aren’t it is near impossible. He also needs to be fairly well endowed.

In our case it only works if a decent set of heels are involved to line things up

justrude · 21/06/2023 13:16

Oh yes!!!

Currently recovering from major surgery but can't wait to have the all clear again!

Your boys??!

coffeedrinkers · 21/06/2023 16:16

@Herbiebanannas Impossible then, I'm 6 inches shorter than him but have much longer legs so we don't match.

Blushingm · 21/06/2023 18:39

Sometimes definitely

coffeedrinkers · 21/06/2023 19:04

@Wherestheheatwave I did wonder myself about the boys meeting up, guessing it was supposed to say bits.

True re tv.

I have just discovered Bridgerton. I know, I know. Late to the party (Late to ALL the parties). In the first episode there was standing up sex against a tree. All I could think was about the poor lady's naked back being scraped and getting grazes and splinters. Plus her back and hips contorting with pain. 'That looks bloody uncomfortable' was my first thought.

Tribblesarelovely · 21/06/2023 19:52

Yes, I’ve had this with several lovers, it’s intoxicating, fabulous. I’ve been with my DH for a long while now, so it doesn’t happen, it’s different but just as lovely.

I had a passionate relationship like that. I was so in love with him.
But he was a druggie and had a job installing cables for the local cable tv company. I had an executive-level position in politics.
I realised that if I stayed with him it’d be a struggle for the rest of my life.
So I left.
I still think about him and that love I abandoned.

Reading that kills many romantic notions that the job was more important ?
The druggie reference couldn’t have helped

BCBird · 21/06/2023 21:01

Never happened to me OP in my previous relationship. Don't feel like I missed out because we had a great sex life. Stark comparison from.my first relationship in my mid 40s🤣

which one?

WhiteChocMocha · 21/06/2023 21:15

It didn't used to be, i thought it was just stuff out the movies.

Then I met my bf and with him it's like that, we don't even make it to the bedroom. It's amazing and I love that this is a real thing.

Why it's different with him is probaby because we have a very open line of communication about sex, talk about what we want and how we want it, and we are both into that sort of thing. Also we don't see each other that often so that probably adds a bit of spice. I hope it stays like that for as long as possible :)

Our priorities were a million miles apart.
I looked ahead at my life with him and saw only struggles with a drug addict and alcoholic. It wasn’t casual - it was serious.
I did not want that for myself or for my future children.
Would you?
Love isn’t really blind.
The job was never more important, but I was.

TakeMyStrongHand · 21/06/2023 21:46

Not when sober, no. Many times after a few beveraginos with DP.

Not as dramatic as in the films tho. They're weird about it.

PaintedEgg · 21/06/2023 21:50

so...any funny injuries someone would like to share? :D

I got a broken scaphoid bone after a sex injury once when DH dropped me. That was an interesting conversation at A&E as to how my injury happened and making sure that he wasn't abusing me 🙄

I'm not that bad... I leave it til a couple of minutes after 😀

Haha that's not too bad then.

DyslexicPoster · 21/06/2023 22:14

Has been known. Not much since kids! Very impractical now

SpringleDingle · 21/06/2023 22:31

Nope and new boyf and I do it a few times every time we meet up. Both prefer a firm surface with good lumbar support to get jiggy on though!! Lots of great passion once we do get in the bedroom though and both been known to suggest and enjoy some afternoon delight!

Great answer and totally get you - but you did also lean towards I think about him sometimes still …
I foolishly harbour the love conquers all vibe but has been discussed here many times and the general feedback was less than positive
Maybe that’s why I’m still single 🥹

bawchops · 21/06/2023 22:57

I have had this yes. Amazing, mind blowing sex. However, didn't necessarily come with best relationships so not sure I would say is a good/bad thing 🤷‍♀️

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 21/06/2023 23:01

We were at the beginning but I was 21 and he was 18!
