Is this is a normal way to have sex?

You know on TV how couples burst the front door open, and start stripping each other while passionately kissing all the way to the bedroom - is that actually a thing?! Reassure me please that even in the first throes it's not like that for anyone in real life!

Yes definitely. In those first heady days full of passion and lust it’s been exactly like that. I can look fondly back on it now as it’s never going to happen again. I choose to be celibate nowadays but it’s nice to know I’ve had some very passionate, movie style sex in my life.

heartofglass23 · 20/06/2023 23:00

Not with teens in the house...

GameofStrife · 20/06/2023 23:01

Yep. Absolutely at the start of our relationship it was!

CockSpadget · 20/06/2023 23:09

I don’t think it’s “normal” in the majority of relationships that are years down the line, but I think it’s pretty usual in the honeymoon phase.

CopenhagenMummy · 20/06/2023 23:10

In the beginning it was like that for us

PurpleFlower1983 · 20/06/2023 23:12

It was for us before kids!

Most people would trip over all the crap in the hall and do themselves an injury. And then have a row about whose crap it was and who hadn’t put it away……

This has made me laugh out loud. Would be so true in our house .

ModestMoon · 20/06/2023 23:14

As a teenager, yes. Not as an adult. I now think I'm missing out.

Jitterybugs · 20/06/2023 23:21

A Lego brick impaled on your arse can be a real passion killer 🤣

Lifeomars · 20/06/2023 23:27

yes, with quite a few of my partners, I was with one guy who lived very close to where I worked at the time and if he was not working and I was, I would pop over in my lunch break for a quickie, no time to fully undress and get to the bed and it felt really naughty!

Same here, I am old and single but really glad I got up to the things I did and reading this thread has reminded me of some of my adventures

eewno · 20/06/2023 23:41

Yes we did/do.

I also need to know how pp knocked her husband down though 🤣 He's either tiny or you're impressively strong.

ShinyBandana · 20/06/2023 23:46

Aw I remember that! I once kicked the internal letterbox flap thingie off doing it up against the wall in the hall. Happy days.

thaegumathteth · 20/06/2023 23:51

For the first few years and pre kids - yes.

23 years later - nope but that's ok. I'm 42 now and not as nimble as I once was!

Laughing at the overpowering dh thing though - I can't imagine dragging dh by his arms being a passion starter

Moro93 · 21/06/2023 00:04

Yep, it used to happen all the time for the first 2-3 years or our relationship. Now 10 years in with 2 young kids it still happens, but very seldom…

Moro93 · 21/06/2023 00:04

*of

Cuppa2sugars · 21/06/2023 00:06

Yes, often. Oh those were the days ! Too old to be wasting time on that malarkey now !

GarlicGrace · 21/06/2023 00:08

Oh, I'm loving these replies! MN at its best 😁

I've enjoyed a lot of clothes-strewn-along-the-hallway sex, but there had to have been some snogging first! In movies there's a 2-second kiss, 1 second of neck nuzzling if they're lucky, and they're at it. How the hell did they get THAT aroused by the 20 seconds of banal conversation preceding their first shag?

Different if you're already in a relationship, of course.
And different again if you've been in said relationship for a long time 🤔

SunIsShininInTheSky · 21/06/2023 00:29

Yep very much like this at the beginning, a trail of clothes through the house, fun times 😁. Can't really do that anymore we have 3 kids now, it's a bit more find a window of time and stick to 1 room these days 🤣.

CherryPosset · 21/06/2023 00:43

i thought this would be a really interesting OP, but it is a bit bland, rom com.
A disappointment to be honest, i was expecting something intricate and wild.

and since we are on page 5 already, i can only assume our culture is as insipid, bland and rom com Grin
prolly a bored moment for the rags to rustle some up ad views via tabloid friendly MNHQ.

Pthagonal · 21/06/2023 00:53

"How the hell did they get THAT aroused by the 20 seconds of banal conversation preceding their first shag?"

Please read this in a Tim Curry voice!

Anticipation!

Nannyfannybanny · 20/06/2023 20:19

Yes, because I was married to a controller, and had very little time. Sometimes I would nip to his house, wearing a Mac and undies underneath. I married him and we're still together 35 years on.

@Nannyfannybanny You mean you did this with the controlling husband or is this someone you sneaked off to shag?

AnyaMarx · 21/06/2023 01:14

Was like this with the ex - but he's still an ex .

SammyScrounge · 21/06/2023 02:11

Apricotflanday · 20/06/2023 20:21

We did it the day before yesterday, 18 months into our relationship, but you can tell we're middle aged, because we timetabled it in — lunchtime — and made the sheets nice first. 😆

😄😄😄

Doggymummar · 20/06/2023 20:15

Not after 10 years, but sure at the beginning very much so

Yep this. Maybe the first few months. I still remember by DH always getting carpet burn 🤣
