What is this? Play detective on husbands bloody dodgy bank account (think hookers)

At first I thought it said HTTPS://LQS. Τhis takes you through to the page of a local Indian company who deal with Suzuki. We have no connection to India or Suzuki.

I looked a bit closer though and it’s not what it seems. The first forward slash is shaped like a j with a ball shape in its cup. The second forward slash seems to be a letter of Cyrillic script which incorporates the L, so it just finishes QS.

i can work out the Cyrillic but the J with ball is beyond me. Anyone seen it before or can decode it?

Thanks a million.

Hey, I'm not sure I would be any help but I am unable to locate that Web page, so I googled the first thing was LONDON CLUBS LSQ LIMITED this is a casino but unfortunately I can not locate a website for them.
There's also other sites from help with investments or to help with businesses
Not to much to go on, does it have any transaction details

AreWeThereYet69 · 03/05/2023 15:17

Ring the credit card company and ask them what it is

Anyfeckinusername · 03/05/2023 15:17

To be honest I think it IS a regular and link,

though I do see what you describe.

CindersAgain · 03/05/2023 15:23

I’m sure it’s just HTTPS://LQS

Can you take a clearer photo?

CindersAgain · 03/05/2023 15:26

But yes, phone your bank and ask.

I think so too.

NoFault2023 · 03/05/2023 15:28

I’d be more worried there’s only 25p left.

CatchHimDerry · 03/05/2023 15:38

It’s just HTTPS://LQS, no cyrillic

few different things it could be I guess?

Season0fTheWitch · 03/05/2023 15:42

It's not cyrillic, it looks like the font used is quite curved so easy to mistake.

UnfinishedUserna · 03/05/2023 15:42

There's loads of possibilities for LQS a quick google shows everything from healthcare providers to a fruit stall

I agree, especially if you zoom in.

I don't think it's strange, like a PP states there are numerous things it could be.

I don't know if I'm naive but would "hookers" take card? Would your Husband be stupid enough to leave evidence behind if he was using them?

NetballHoop · 03/05/2023 15:47

That's not a valid web address. It's possibly been cut off.
The amount doesn't suggest an escort though. 99.75 would be an odd amount to charge.

It’s odd that there was £100 in the account and nearly all of it has gone though. Feels a bit ‘oh I’d better not clear it out, can I leave 25p off?’

Might just be coincidence.

HeidiUpTheMountain · 03/05/2023 16:27

What information do you get if you click on Get Help With This Transaction? The similar thing on my banking app shows me the location and the type of business.

I agree that you’ve got the Cyrillic bit wrong.

Jellifulfruit · 03/05/2023 16:37

I see what you’re saying but I ageee, I think it’s just a slash

riotlady · 03/05/2023 17:45

IAteAllTheTomatoes · 03/05/2023 17:28

I honestly think it's just car accessories.

https://www.marutisuzuki.com/genuine-accessories/exterior-accessories

Ring the bank if you are still unsure.

£99.75 as an amount seems much more likely for car accessories than hookers or blow, gambling also unlikely as that tends to be round numbers and bits at a time (eg £20 then another £20 then another)

Is there any particular reason you’re suspicious OP?

IAteAllTheTomatoes · 03/05/2023 18:11

Using the converation rate, £99.75 is about 10,000 rupees and based on the website stock, it looks like it may have been an alloy wheel, a spoiler or a car bumper unlesshe purchased multiple items.

Do any of them seem familiar?

That said, it seems to deliver to India only but I haven't created an acount to see if they do international delivery or allow for sterling payment.

Not a joint card.

It is Cyrillic but cursive not print. This letter. л without the spit of the L.

He didn’t have a car at the time let alone a Suzuki. He tried claiming it was fireworks on fireworks night but that’s not 23rd March.

99.75 isn't a prostitute - it's clearly a purchase of some variety.

We live up north and he’s not fussy so £100 would do. He’d buy blow in cash.

Plenty of reason to be suspicious. Not least because the reason it can’t be car spares is he has had no car since late Jan when it disappeared and he claimed it was in the garage. He’s in no rush to get it back, more than 4 months now. No updates, no return date.

He seems to expect me just to forget we ever had a car and stop asking. Probably seized for unpaid tickets or by a loan shark.

Yeah, he has looooooong, loooooong form with money. Earns a reasonable amount but the rest of the family live big standard life. No holidays, nights out, days out. All the jobs we need done round the house neglected. Broken drawers and cupboards, slates off roof, no household bills paid, no hobbies for kids, can’t travel to see family. He’s always been shit but a lot worse recently.

Just nobody can figure out quite where the money goes. It’s weird.

If they were paying through some sort of bitcoin to currency app it often cuts off weird like that.
