I seem to have opened a can of worms with my previous thread and now I’m interested in opinions? Will probably be another can of worms.

yes or no? Baby sleeping in own cot in the same room which they should be for 6 months.

I think it's OK if the baby is asleep. I wouldn't do it much past 6 months though.

Justmuddlingalong · 01/03/2023 12:20

Yes

cunderthunt1 · 01/03/2023 12:20

It's a no from me

Spottycarousel · 01/03/2023 12:21

A young baby isn't going to be aware of much. I'd probably draw the line at 6 months plus.

Rowen32 · 01/03/2023 12:24

It feels all sorts of wrong to me

80s · 01/03/2023 12:26
  • how old is the baby
  • how dark is the room
  • how loud is the sex
  • how lightly does the baby sleep
  • is the partner also the dad
Led9519 · 01/03/2023 12:28

Oh Ffs if they’re asleep why not so long as you don’t wake them up? They don’t even know their own names let alone what you’re doing! If you have a brief window with your partner when you’re both tired, time poor etc then why not?

If we had followed this we'd only have one child.

80s · 01/03/2023 12:31

Sounds safe enough to me, if you are both already up for it!

Bunnyishotandcross · 01/03/2023 12:31

Fine until the night a tiny open eye catches yours!

What's actually wrong with it?

MrsJessePinkmann · 01/03/2023 12:34

I'd like to know who's having sex in the first 6 months after birth? 😬

#scarredforlife 😂

80s · 01/03/2023 12:35

I seem to think from the other thread that you didn't fancy it, though?

Cornelious2011 · 01/03/2023 12:36

I don't see an issue with it. The baby had no knowledge of what you're doing and wouldn't remember it. Surely this was how babies have been conceived for centuries all around the world.

Fruitcakesanddogs · 01/03/2023 12:40

its not an issue

Shoxfordian · 01/03/2023 12:49

Just go have sex in another room

WarrickDavisAsPlates · 01/03/2023 12:53

I would be completely unable to get aroused in the same room as a child and I can't understand how anyone could enjoy anything sexual knowing a child was in the same room.

Can't you just go and have sex in another room?

BoredOfThisMansWorld · 01/03/2023 12:55

It's absolutely fine. Not all of us live in big houses.

This

MollyRover · 01/03/2023 12:57

I think I read somewhere before that baby is more likely to stay asleep during the act, something to do with hormones and the survival of the species.

Wouldn't do it past 6 months though.

Soakitup37 · 01/03/2023 12:57

someone saying go in the other room, what if the other room is the kitchen or a small sofa? Or the floor. Or maybe you want to use the actual bed?

it must be how millions of babies are conceived.

with the circumstances op presented I wouldn’t have an issue with doing it or if someone else said they had done.

Learningtofeminist · 01/03/2023 12:57

Those of you who feel this is wrong, just out of interest: are you aware that more than half the world's population (today, never mind over the last few tens of thousands of years) was conceived with a sibling in the room at the time?

Apologies: I can't now find my source, and I don't really want to risk the sort of things that might come up if I spend time googling it 😏
