Friend’s dp kept trying to smack her bottom (lighthearted)

Overhead friend and her new dp messing about in the next room, I am staying with them for a long weekend. She kept refusing to get up and leave the sofa as she was too tired and be threatened to give her a smacked bottom if she didn’t get ready. She was giggling and it was obviously lighthearted. But I can’t help but feel the ick a bit albeit second hand!! I know it’s not my relationship. Am I being too much of a prude?

Eurgh.

Tiltymubha · 05/01/2023 19:26

Two people messing around or do I say something to her?

Stay out of it. Just a bit of fun, or make they like spanking

thunderstruckk · 05/01/2023 19:32

She was laughing and it was obviously a joke - saying something would make you sound like a strange eavesdropper imo!

Sux2buthen · 05/01/2023 19:36

There's nothing you could say without sounding strange. And nothing that even needs to be said

thinkfast · 05/01/2023 19:37

Ewwwww. Why were you eavesdropping on your friend and her partner. That gives me the ick. What two consenting adults enjoying giggling about is entirely up to them. Who made you the fun police?

RiceRiceBaby16 · 05/01/2023 19:38

Why would you need to say something? I'm really confused.

girlmom21 · 05/01/2023 19:40

Your reaction is much weirder than their behaviour.

Why the fuck would you embarrass her?!

It’s either just a joke or they are into a bit of S and M. Thinking it’s your business either way is Very Weird OP.

Tiltymubha · 05/01/2023 20:05

Sorry! Can see I’m being out of order. I just thought it was a bit odd, the kind of thing you would say to a naughty child, but appreciate it was a joke. I was going to check she was ok and didn’t feel controlled!!

Agreed. Op it's weird that you're even posting about it.

Tiltymubha · 05/01/2023 20:19

Ok… Point taken. It’s a new relationship and I misunderstood the dynamic. Will back off.

Confused hey friend you know when you and dp were being daft in your room and giggling?...just checking you're not being controlled....

LexMitior · 05/01/2023 20:24

This was not for your ears! Probably in that kinky Mr Tiddles and Mrs Spankykin mode. Ignore it!

Igglepiggleslittletoe · 05/01/2023 20:26

Jesus christ the things that go through peoples minds. Honestly OP go and get a life.

Hang around Mumsnet long enough and it turns some folks into hammers where everything looks like a nail

‘Am I being too much of a prude?’

Yes. Wake up. Grow up.

LadyOfTheFliessssss · 05/01/2023 23:56

You sound very innocent, OP. I've heard a lot worse than that from couples.

Tiltymubha · 05/01/2023 23:58

Ok!! I probably am 😂 would no one else find that infantilising then or just me?

I wouldn’t want to be threatened with a smack for being “naughty” but I get that it was a joke?!

I don't like that kind of talk in my relationship, in the same way I don't like baby talk, find it cringeworthy and gives me the ick. However there's nothing actually wrong with it for those who do! You say your friend was giggling and playing along. What is there to worry about?

lap90 · 06/01/2023 00:04

You sound ridiculous.

It's not exactly a joke. It sounds like they enjoy some mild power play games in the bedroom.

page1of4 · 06/01/2023 00:22

More like foreplay than a joke Grin

Worst. Foreplay. Ever.

Thoughtful2355 · 06/01/2023 00:53

Tbh it's not really threatening to be smacked it's threatening to be spanked. Personally I like a bit of spanking in the bedroom. You may not and that's ok but don't belittle someone else's kinks if it isn't harming anyone.
