Most annoying thing your DP does

What’s your pet peeve against your DP?

Mine is that whenever he hoovers he will just leave cobwebs or that he’ll ‘do’ the kitchen and not wipe any of the surfaces and leaves everything that doesn’t belong in the kitchen in the kitchen😂

If I mention I had a bad night sleep he only got 45 mins or if my toe hurts he stubbed his the day before and thinks its broken

Fitbits for both of you solve that problem about sleep. He shouldn't complain again about it once his graph is compared to yours.

Warspite · 18/01/2023 18:29

Can’t seem to read my body language when I’m changing direction (say) in the kitchen.
Stands in my way so I have to spell it out. “I need to get to the sink so could you step to your left please?

Oh and he picks his nose!

BeginningToLook · 18/01/2023 18:34

This is an ex, thankfully.

Farting
Fingers in mouth
Not washing hands and touching my face - gag
Not washing hair properly
Leaving a big arse sized pit on the sofa
Putting dirty cigarette smell soaked clothes back in the wardrobe
Throwing dirty rucksack against pristine freshly painted wall - barbarian
Massive amounts of clutter left on kitchen counters
Obsession with packing the fridge and never letting me put anything in it
Never changing bedsheets - possibly the worst one
Leaving stains on sofa
Spilling red wine on my cream carpet

strumpert · 18/01/2023 18:35

@Kikimusnik how do you tuck a chair?

Alcemeg · 18/01/2023 18:36

Sometimes when he comes to bed, he leaves the bedroom door open, even though I have explained that leaves us prey to the mad axe murderer who could come in the night!

Essexexile · 18/01/2023 18:39

Leaves the door open when he pees
leaves doors open; I’m trying to keep the heat in rooms and he just leaves doors wide open
gets home from work and either immediately sits at the table on his work laptop or puts some shit tv on
doesn’t listen, I can tell him something 3 times and he’ll still question it
while watching football and I’m very obviously not, he’ll say things like ‘look at that, he was offside wasn’t he?’ I don’t know, I’m reading.
puts non recyclable stuff in the recycling bin

All that said, he’s a fab husband and has been for 30+ years, I just pick my battles these days 😂

Owlplant · 18/01/2023 19:34

When I'm I'll, DP is also ill/coming down with something. Also, noisy eating.

Kikimusnik · 18/01/2023 20:39

Sorry I mean just leaves the chair out instead of putting it back with the others..drives me insane

Pradapopsyloulou · 18/01/2023 20:47

Mine always manages to spill something on one of his best shirts. Usually oil/tomato/red wine based so I can’t get the mark out and it then goes for round home shirt! He’s very good at doing more than his share of stuff though so that’s a minor irritant!

ImBlueDab · 18/01/2023 20:48

Dh - are you ok
Me - yea, just a bit tired
Dh - are you sure you're ok
Me - yea, honestly I'm fine, just knackered, didn't get much sleep last night dogs/kids woke me etc
10 mins later
Dh - are you ok
Me - I've just told you I'm fine, just fucking tired!
Dh - see I said you weren't ok, you don't normally snap at me
Me - oh ffs

When he cleans he likes to leave out proof; hoover in the middle of the room, cleaning products out in the bathroom!

Yes or makes a real point of telling you exactly what he's done!

GettingStuffed · 18/01/2023 21:02

He slurps his coffee first thing in the morning, that's the only time he does this, so does DD

VickerishAllsort · 18/01/2023 21:10

He'll wait until I'm dishing up dinner and then announce that he's going for a shower. Does this at least 4 times a week.
Never wipes down worktops in the kitchen, and when he washes up doesn't rinse the soapy water off.
Snores.
Will often let me know what time he'll be home, which is very thoughtful. Except what he actually does is leave wherever he happens to be at that particular time, even if it takes an hour for the journey.

TwigsAndPebblyShit · 18/01/2023 21:16

Sneezing.

Repeatedly and very very loudly.

bakewellbride · 18/01/2023 21:20

Loud sneezing
Screws the lid too tight on everything so I can't undo it e.g nappy cream, water bottles
Leaves the kitchen a mess after he's made something to eat
Never wipes the baby's High chair

BUT he's amazing in so many other ways and I love him.

rightsaidfreddie · 18/01/2023 23:26

Every morning he blows his nose (loudly) into a tissue. It makes me feel sick!

Joeylove88 · 19/01/2023 08:36

As soon as I serve dinner he then gets up to quickly do a couple of things and/or go to the loo then comes back and takes the food to heat up in the microwave 😭

Constantly moving things that iv purposely left in certain places to remember them that aren't in the way he just decides to do his own little 'tidy ups'

I get a system going for the washing but he sometimes decides to do some washing of his own and there ends up being various different piles of it on the floor so I have no idea what's clean or still needs washing etc. Because it's all got mixed up 🙈

There are more things but he also does loads of helpful things too.

Surely nothing that's on the floor would be clean?

Joeylove88 · 19/01/2023 09:13

Not necessarily because sometimes he will put clean clothes from the dryer on the floor instead of in a basket, so he can quickly dry what's come out of the washing machine 😵‍💫

Isme1908 · 19/01/2023 09:37

My list could last forever!

cables and chargers for gadgets/laptops/phones/fitbits get left everywhere

random stuff/tools/clothes/clutter of his just left lying around the house- currently looking at a hat he has left on the bedroom floor! he brought stuff from his parents who had passed away to ours more than 5 years ago and lots of it is still sitting around in boxes waiting to be sorted….

always losing his keys/Wallet/charger

his noisy eating drives me mad, I have to turn the tv up if he’s eating as it sounds like he’s crunching stones or something

he does washings but rarely puts clean stuff away or if he does it takes weeks!

instead of drying wet dishes and putting them away he leaves them on a tea towel to dry 🙈 tea towels always end up soaking wet and he doesn’t put another one out to use!

always takes Tupperware to work and leaves it meaning I never have a tub for my work lunch!

if we are watching tv he will pause it loads to keep going to get himself drink/snack etc so annoying!

always has a big idea for a new project and spends so much time researching or talking about it but then never actually does anything about it.

I think I better stop there as starting to dislike him 😂

I've NC because I feel like this is outing for some reason but whenever we have company coming/getting ready to host a party he "helps" by breaking down any boxes in the garage... the place no one goes. Or cleaning his car or some other chore that doesn't have any affect on the guests. He's not stubborn about it though, he redirects if asks! It's just funny that's where his head always goes.

I know you posted this ages ago but mine is EXACTLY the same. WHY? WHY? Always, he goes straight to the recycling.
