If so, did it work out?

If it did, did you ever have doubts?

Would be interested to hear anyone's stories, good or bad!

Nope. I had a lot of boyfriends. I am a firm believer in trying before you buy.

Littlemissprosecco · 19/03/2022 16:50

Yes, and 25 years later we’re still good.
If it’s right it’s right!

Mermaidwaves · 19/03/2022 16:51

I did. Together from the age of 15 to 39, 2 DDs. We are now separated as he was abusive and a serial cheat. He is now with the OW and his new family, I dont think I will ever get over it.

It would be lovely to see some happy stories here though.

jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey · 19/03/2022 16:55

Been with Dp since I was 15 . I'm 50 soon and we have 2 adult children.
Not been all plain sailing but we are still together and still happy

TamarilloTrifle · 19/03/2022 16:55

Yes, got together when I was 19, married at 24, 3 children. Divorced after 23 years when he had an emotional affair.

Thurlow · 19/03/2022 16:55

Yes, we were 20 when we got together and still happy 20 years later. I’m sure we both have moments of being curious what it would have been like to have other relationships but I have no complaints, so it’s only idle musing.

20viona · 19/03/2022 16:56

Yes 15 years together, Married for 4 and baby number 2 on the way.

gogohm · 19/03/2022 16:57

Not mine but was exh's first. Unfortunately after 29 years he decided he wanted something new. Irony is it's me with the new relationship and he's lonely with ddog

Slagertha · 19/03/2022 16:58

Yes, been together 12 years now and still going well

MrsGHarrison87 · 19/03/2022 17:01

Had my first proper boyfriend at 17, he was unable to have sex so no.

insancerre · 19/03/2022 17:01

Yes
I was 19 when we met, 20 when we married. 22 when our first was born
We will be celebrating 35 years next month and no, I’ve never had any regrets.

ParkheadParadise · 19/03/2022 17:05

Yes
I got pregnant the first time I had sex 🙉
He dumped me
We were both 15 at the time.
The denied that dd was his. His mother walked by us on the street calling me a slag.
We had no contact with him. When I met DH he adopted dd and she was the only dad she ever knew.

My dd died at 23. The prick gave an interview to a local paper!!!
He didn't attend her funeral as he was too upset he spent the day in the pub with his girlfriend he DEFINITELY wasn't invited. He contacted me to ask for pictures of dd he was told to fuck off.

I’m so sorry for your loss! It sounds like your DD had a wonderful mum and adoptive dad.
Bibble69 · 19/03/2022 17:09

Yes, we got together at 18 in 6th form, got married 9 years later, unfortunately my wife passed away last year due to cancer after 24 years of marriage, we were 4 months short of 25. Had our ups and downs, mostly ups I think. We've had 2 wonderful children, 1 at uni now, 2nd hoping to go in September. I wouldn't change anything that happened, except that I wish my wife was still with us.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 19/03/2022 17:11

No, DH wasn’t my first partner.

I had a boyfriend from 15-18 who I dumped before going to uni. Then had a couple of guys I had very casual things with (definitely not boyfriends).

I met DH in the October of my first year at uni. Started going out the following March and DD1 was born the following January. Oops! Together 9 years now, married 3.5 and have another DD.

PurrBox · 19/03/2022 17:12

Married my first boyfriend, 3 kids and 30 year marriage. We have gone through hell because of him having an affair, but we are trying to stay together. It has been 3 years since I found out about his affair, and it has been very hard... still seems like we have a lot to lose if we don't manage to get through this, though.

SquigglePigs · 19/03/2022 17:16

First serious relationship, yes. Got together towards the end of university. Together 16 yrs now with a 3 yr old and very happy.

Tittyfilarious · 19/03/2022 17:21

Yes I did we met young and 25years later we are still really happy together . I've never had any doubts or what ifs I've always just thought how incredibly lucky I am to have met him young and for it to all work out

Ceriane · 19/03/2022 17:24

I always wish I had just done this, would have made my life so much easier, I really envy those who do.

OrlandointheWilderness · 19/03/2022 17:28

I married my first boyfriend. We divorced not long after 😂

MrFlippersPancake · 19/03/2022 17:30

Yes!! Started dating at 18, had first baby at 19 completely unplanned Blush luckily it all worked out. We've been together nearly 20 years, married for 8 and have had two further children. He really is my best friend and a wonderful man.

Deadringer · 19/03/2022 17:33

Yes, got together at 17, married at 23. All good for the first 20 years or so but for the last 10 getting increasingly sick of the sight of him.

Ataliecalm · 19/03/2022 17:35

We met at 18 at uni and we were friends for a year before we got together. It's nearly 20 years now, married with three kids. Occasional petty arguments but no regrets.

Nonnymum · 19/03/2022 17:36

Yes and still married many decades later

Musttryharder2021 · 19/03/2022 17:38

Yes I agree. Whether it would have been "settling" or not, the subsequent partners and relationships really haven't been worth the effort!
