If so, did it work out?

If it did, did you ever have doubts?

Would be interested to hear anyone's stories, good or bad!

Yes. Met my husband at the age of 19 and he was 20. Married 3 years later and had 2 children. Still together 44 years later and very happy.

ArabellaRockerfella · 19/03/2022 17:42

Yes. Was married for 22yrs had 3 children. Then he left, wanted a new life! I'm still single 4yrs later and he has a new younger girlfriend :(

vdbfamily · 19/03/2022 17:43

Had first boyfriend at 33 and married him at 34 and had 3 kids by 38. About to celebrate 20 th anniversary. Have never regretted it for even a day

bruffin · 19/03/2022 17:47

Yes, celebrated 30 wedding anniversary , been together 34 years.

SecondhandTable · 19/03/2022 17:47

Yes.

Did it work out - so far it has, but admittedly we are still in our twenties, have only been together a decade and both of our kids are very young. So there's plenty of time for things to go pear shaped I suppose!!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 19/03/2022 17:48

Not me, but DH did

Posted too soon. We’ve been together 25 years, married for 22, two dc. We were 22 (him) and 26 (me) when we got together.
Blushingm · 19/03/2022 17:52

Yes and I wish I hadn't......I feel I was too young for dc and he was t very nice

Love my dc but wish I'd waited

BigFatLiar · 19/03/2022 17:55

First serious relationship for both of us. Been married ages now children & grandchildren. Just us at home now, just as well we enjoy each others company. We've had some issues in the past but overall we're happy and I want us to grow old together.

Lulu1919 · 19/03/2022 17:56

Yes
I was heading towards 19 he was 21
Still together and happily married
I'm 53 years old

tirednewmumm · 19/03/2022 18:01

My brother and his wife met as teenagers, first 'proper' relationship. Still together now, seemingly great relationship, lovely house, gorgeous baby girl and a fulfilling career each Smile

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 19/03/2022 18:02

Yep. First real boyfriend. Met at work and just fell together from being friends and going round in a big group.

First time I spoke to him thought 'ooh you're nice'. 23 years later my suspicions have been confirmed.

My only regret is it means I've never been on a date. We just went out a few times as mates and then snogged and then weren't just mates anymore. But as trade offs go it's a pretty good one.

Sunnytwobridges · 19/03/2022 18:04

@Ceriane

I always wish I had just done this, would have made my life so much easier, I really envy those who do.
Me too. I had the opportunity but didn’t take it. He’s now been married for 30 years.
SouperNoodle · 19/03/2022 18:05

Nope. I played the field and discovered what I did and didn't like in men and then found the most amazing man and married him.

TicTac80 · 19/03/2022 18:14

I often wonder what would have happened if I did. I don’t seem to have had much luck with guys though. Dated 5 in total : 4 cheated on me. The other was abusive. I’m staying single from on but would have loved to have met someone lovely early on and just stuck with them. Never mind. I have two amazing kids and I wouldn’t change them for the world :)

DaydreamerBetty · 19/03/2022 18:15

Yes, dated at 18 and been together for 23 yrs next week. Happily married with 2 DD’s. He really is my best friend.

londonladyttc · 19/03/2022 18:15

Yes. Together from 16, married 3.5 years ago, now early 30s and first baby is on the way. Smile couldn't imagine life without him.

Fridafever · 19/03/2022 18:16

Yes. Met DH when I was 18, gone married at 29 and had DS at 35.

Mixed feelings if I’m honest. Mostly good life and DS is worth everything to me. I do wonder how life would be different though.

GeneLovesJezebel · 19/03/2022 18:18

Yes.
Only ever slept with him, and do wonder what it would be like with someone else.

MangshorJhol · 19/03/2022 18:19

Yes DH was my first serious relationship. I was sort of his first as well (the first he could see himself marrying) but he was with someone for 18 months before we met. We were 21. We are now in our early 40s. Two kids. So far so good.
He was also the first and only guy I have ever slept with. I wasn’t DH’s first.

spacehardware · 19/03/2022 18:22

Not the first ever person I had sex with, but the first serious relationship yes

This was a massive mistake (although I wouldn't undo the kids)

Met my second husband when I was 35. He is bliss.

Hellocatshome · 19/03/2022 18:23

Yes first real boyfriend anyway. Met when I was 18, first child at 23, married at 24 second child at 26. Been together 20 years and apart from the usual sorts of ups nd downs of relationships still going strong.

cptartapp · 19/03/2022 18:25

Yes. Met at 19. Moved in together at 24. Engaged at 28, married at 29, two DC at 30 and 33. Still together 31 years later. All good.

lizziesiddal79 · 19/03/2022 18:27
