What do women actually find attractive about men?

Inspired by a a reverso thread, I want to know... what is it you like so much about the Hairy Ones?

When I was 9 years old, my teacher made me sit next to a boy called Jamie who was kind of naughty. He used to swap words in our hymns for other words that rhymed or otherwise fit. Sometimes it would make the song rude. Sometimes it would just mean he was singing his heart out to his dog instead of god.
It would make me giggle and I would think about him, even when I wasn't at school.

The day that I first heard Jamie belt out "to my dirty pants" instead of "to the elephants" in morning assembly, is the day I realised that I love the mischievous ones.

And yes, I married one. 🙊

Oh ... hairy chest! Love that.......

OrlandointheWilderness · 16/02/2022 13:33

And like PP 'physically substantial' love that phrase!!

TheVolturi · 16/02/2022 13:36

Tall, but not too tall, strong arms, not obviously muscular though, beautiful eyes. Confident but not cocky.

Sunnyday321 · 16/02/2022 13:38

I married a good looking man , he clearly worshipped the ground I walked on , was a real gent as well , open doors , held my hand , etc etc . After a few years realised he was boring , and a bit wet, felt just like having an extra child . We eventually divorced.
Then met someone , not particularly good looking , but had something about him , not a gentleman at all , in fact a bit of a nethendral . Been with him years 😂

Theladyinthepinkcoat · 16/02/2022 13:38

Physically? Tall, dirty blond, beard and tattoos.

Personality? Hard working, fun, does his share of housework and child rearing without needing to be asked.

Livandme · 16/02/2022 13:39

I don't think I have a type anymore. I used to be attracted to pretty boys. I married one, he's not pretty anymore and still a boy.
That said I've lost any looks I had too but I am definitely capable of adulting.
So for me, attributes such as kindness, being funny, thoughtful, encouraging and being able to communicate well are important.
Then I find them more attractive.
The man I had the best connection ever with was a long way from being "pretty" but he made me feel safe. I miss him alot and he helped me open my eyes to other attributes in a partner.

@OrlandointheWilderness

Physique wise, big and broad. I love a man who can envelop you in his arms. Hairy, preferably not on the back but everywhere else please. Beard. Love a good beard. The most gorgeous, kind eyes. Steady and dependable, but also good fun to be with. Must have a sex drive as high as mine and be bloody good too. Hardworking and reliable.

Must admit that's my bf 😂 😂 😂

Must admit this is my bf too! 😂😂😂

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal

I like kind, funny men. Every single LTR I've had has been with kind, gentle men who make me laugh. I don't get the attraction to "bastards" at all. Two exes tried to treat me badly and found themselves dumped immediately.

Physically, I like either very dark brown or very bright blue eyes. I love a nice strong forearm in a rolled up sleeve too.

You are my spirit animal Grin. Exactly what I like.
OneRingToRuleThemAll · 16/02/2022 13:50

Got his life together, so he feels like a partner not a burden. I fancy DH so much more now he is working after a time of unemployment. Didn't think it mattered to me but it seemingly really does.

OrlandointheWilderness · 16/02/2022 14:05

😂 @Chelsea26 not literally I hope!
Nah, also incredibly loyal too!

Vampirethriller · 16/02/2022 14:09

I like big muscles and shaved heads. Nice aftershave, warm hands. Funny and kind.

ravenmum · 16/02/2022 14:10
  • Emotionally intelligent
  • Pragmatic
  • Bit of a laugh
  • Attractive natural scent
Maireas · 16/02/2022 14:11

Ooooh, beards and tattoos are popular!

Chelsea26 · 16/02/2022 14:16

@OrlandointheWilderness
Yes I’m pretty sure we have one each! Lucky us 😍

TriptotheBog · 16/02/2022 14:19

Intelligence is the best feature. Can make an average looking bloke dreamy to me, it's odd. But it has to be combined with wit and charisma. But I love a bloke who's smarter than me, that I can learn from.

TriptotheBog · 16/02/2022 14:20

Beards and chest hair are ideal looks wise. I'm hair, can't be with a man with smoother legs than me unfortunately

RantyAunty · 16/02/2022 14:21

Tall
Bedroom eyes
hands

Brett239 · 16/02/2022 14:24

Talk, dark hair, light eyes, smart, confident, funny, sporty and handy around the house. Basically my husband :)

Cheekypeach · 16/02/2022 14:24

Hmmm, not too tall as they tend to look disproportionately skinny.

Thick hair, a dirty smile and twinkly eyes.

I like my men traditionally presented, short back & sides and non-fussy clothing. No indie man buns or jewellery etc.

Someone who makes me laugh and doesn’t take himself too seriously.

OrlandointheWilderness · 16/02/2022 14:25

Incredibly lucky I think @Chelsea26

Palmfrond · 16/02/2022 14:28

@OrlandointheWilderness

😂 *@Chelsea26* not literally I hope! Nah, also incredibly loyal too!
Hopefully not, but it would be mumsnet gold if it were.
Easterbunnyiswindowshopping · 16/02/2022 14:29

When I met my now dh we kissed within less than an hour. He had lovely breathe!! He still does even pre teeth brush in the morning!
And he has perfect eyebrows. And never needs to pluck them. Very odd they aren't chin length!

SockFluffInTheBath · 16/02/2022 14:31

Tall, broad, hairy and kind. Looks like a Viking but acts like a decent human being.

sHREDDIES19 · 16/02/2022 14:34

Someone who’s not afraid to sort shit out by themselves, take care of situations and not relying on others. Competent, secure in themselves, being funny helps, caring and focussed on me and not what else is available.

CheesyWeez · 16/02/2022 14:40

Kindness.

It is the single most important thing.
