I love the new series! I know lots of people don’t agree but I’m already addicted.
Anyway, is it just me who is completely over the moon for Miranda? Not even because she’s discovered her sexuality but because she’s been true to herself and sought out what makes her truly happy? Interested to know how others feel watching this.

Che is a player. I mean, if Che was male would we be cheering someone risking their marriage over him? Fine to ignite a spark but not someone to settle down with. I think Miranda will have missed this part

completely irrelevant but the actor who plays Steve has suffered hearing loss IRL so his hearing aids were written into the show.

the woke box ticking reminds me a lot of the virtue signalling found in Grey’s Anatomy now. Schitt’s Creek and a recent binge of ER show how you can be more authentic.

I think Miranda did once say she was worried she was settling with Steve, I think it was early on in the series before they broke up and Steve/Aiden became friends. I am not a huge fan of the bumbling scramble to be PC-but that is not just Miranda, Charlotte as well. Im not surprised at Miranda wanting out, I think it was more out of character when she married Steve and forgave him cheating on her. All the characters have been aged and it does seem to be part of the plot, even Carrie is "Ma'am".

I loved SATC. The first film was tolerable, the second one was awful. This series feels completely different. I am on the fence about it at the moment. I think they have dealt with grief very authentically though, parts of Carrie's response to Big dying have felt very real. The first episode I hated the series, and although there have been some toe cringing moments (that Tennis scene with Charlotte, WTF), I am interested to see where it goes. I dont like the "and just like that" at the end though, its so forced. Its the new "I couldnt help but wonder".

In a way, I am glad that Samantha isnt in this. She was my favourite character. She was also older than the others, I dont think the storyline would have been sympathetic to her and she is best preserved as she was. There are a few whispers about an Aiden return (I hope not, seems so contrite).

Even allowing for the fact the actor who plays Steve wears hearing aids IRL, the way they've turned him into a bumbling, cantankerous old man is disappointing. As a PP said, he was immature and silly in the series, watching cartoons and having no career aspirations beyond bar-tending, so it doesn't fit that in 15 years he would have a complete character flip into being a dour pensioner. He's 55, FFS! In fact, this whole series has got a weird '55 is over the hill' vibe to it that I just don't think reflects society. It's one of the many ways the show really misses Samantha – she'd be the one telling Carrie to STFU about getting old and to concentrate on being fabulous, call out Miranda for being so uncharacteristically dithery and tell Charlotte to lay off the fillers.

@MrsTrumpton agreed! i’m still wondering what is going on with Miranda’s eyebrows. i think they have been greyed out to make her look much more older than she is.

Overall I am enjoying the show's presence. Agree with the comments about Miranda. I liked the scene where Miranda met Che and went in on her for giving Brady weed. But since then she is awkward, needy and unsure of herself. I don't think Che would find that attractive.

I'm thinking there will be a plot where she is worked into some of Che's standup routine.. maybe when she surprises her in Cleveland.

Charlotte is grating too. I used to find her endearing but now she's too busy-body. The corners of her lips seem stuck in position. Antony is on form at least.
