He's been watching tiktok videos on youtube. Litteraly most of the thumb nails are of gorgouse young woman in underwear and bikinis. I know blokes look at this stuff and hes only 36 but i just find it off putting, these girls are only late teens very early 20s at the oldest. I saw his youtube feed and thought He's Litteraly twice their age.im probably just being daft but it bothered me like im litterly nothing like these tiktok woman and it makes me feel like shit and feel disappointed in him tbh. I don't know why im bothered really or why I've even posted. Is it me over reacting?

You’re not being daft.

The age difference is very creepy whether it’s online desire or real life, for me personally it doesn’t make a difference.

Have you spoken about it to him??

SummerHouse · 21/09/2021 13:45

Not overreacting. I think that's pretty seedy to be honest. I think I would have to say stop looking at teenage girls, it's grim and off-putting. Shame he has put you in that position. It's disrespectful.

BrilloPaddy · 21/09/2021 13:47

Grim.

Tell him it's pissing you off and he needs to stop.

whymewhyme · 21/09/2021 13:54

He just said I'm being daft. Obviously i don't know the girls ages but they look to me no older than early 20s. They are the classic instagram girl absolutely beautiful with amazing bodies, I wish i looking the way they do when i was that age . It's probably just me with my own insecurities but i dont know, its just bothered me.

Of course your disappointed in him. He's perving at teenages and being disrespectful to you. You're allowed to feel uncomfortable about it. You're allowed to say that it's a line you don't want him crossing. Have you spoken about it with him?

IWantT0BreakFree · 21/09/2021 13:58

Yeah that's really grim and he's a lecherous creep. I wouldn't be able to have a romantic relationship with a man like that. My skin would crawl.

Sampafie · 21/09/2021 13:59

I dont think this is a hill worth dying on OP. If you point out this is a line you dont want him crossing, where else will you pull that line? If he watches Love Island? Because those girls, by your own admission, look nothing like you.
I think its a shame hes not making more of an effort to hidw the fact that he is turned on by young women who look so much different to you, but thats who he is.

User135644 · 21/09/2021 14:00

Why is he looking at other women?

Sampafie · 21/09/2021 14:01

To clarify, I wouldnt date a man like that, but unless youre read to call it quits and leave, i dont see what advice to give you, because monitoring his internet use as if he were a prepubescent boy is not a long term solution

Sugarntailsnluvlyspicysnails · 21/09/2021 14:02

You're insecurities will likely get worse with a partner who cares more about getting off to teenagers than hurting your feelings.

IWantT0BreakFree · 21/09/2021 14:03

It's the whole premise of the 'barely legal' thing, which is what this is given that he's targeting videos of teenagers and very young women. It's about how can I legally get away with viewing sexual content of underage girls? I'll just look at extremely young women who were underage girls mere weeks/months ago. I bet they are all petite and hairless too 🤮

whymewhyme · 21/09/2021 14:04

Ive told him its creepy but I've not asked him to stop watching stuff like that because i know he wont.

OP posts:
whymewhyme · 21/09/2021 14:07

like i say they are 19-21ish not young teenagers! Also they arnt naked or anything.

@IWantT0BreakFree thats TikToks main user age group though. Theres nothing more cringeworthy than seeing middle age women doing those stupid dances on a CHILDREND App. Like how desperte must you be. I dont even understand why they use it. Theres a documentary where young social media stars say the most hate they get are from women in their 30s and 40s, the algorithm can tell who visits their profiles most. Seems both women and men are obsessed with young women, men just have a different way of showing it

whymewhyme · 21/09/2021 14:10

I won't monitor his internet.

It would really upset me, and make me question the character of my partner. Tiktok targets and shows videos based on what you "interact" with (likes, comments, or following) and shows you similar things. You're not being unreasonable.

Pinkbonbon · 21/09/2021 14:11

As if a 36 year old bloke on tiktok wasn't weird enough on its own xD

But yeah, its creepy and disrespectful to you.

whymewhyme · 21/09/2021 14:14

He was on you tube but watching a tiktok video on there. He hasn't got the tiktok app

It completely depends on what you interact with. The videos that come up on mine are lots of babies and weaning things, feminist videos and black culture because that's what I interact with on there. I never get random videos of teenagers (or adults) dancing. The fact that ops husbands for you page is showing lots of teenage girls dancing would indicate that's what he interacts with on there!

whymewhyme · 21/09/2021 14:15

Least i know im not being daft

Sorry, just reread and saw that he's watching them on YouTube. Even worse imo, because he's actively searching and clicking on them. Sorry op!

Ffs it is not a children's app.
Its fir everyone. How many children want gardening tips, book recommendations, receipes, weight lifting technique advice etc.

Tik tok is for kidsxis a myth spread about that those that dont know any better.
As for middle aged women doing dances, well to me it looks like they are having fun and enjoying themselves. Nothing wrong with that at all!!
What is cringeworthy is someone acting superior as if something is beneath them without having full information and also sucking the joy out of someone's harmless fun.

Closetbeanmuncher · 21/09/2021 14:25

That would give me the ick big time...

Proper empty-headed knuckle dragger vibes.

In relation to your specific situation I don't really know how to advise you but I do know this....

No relationship is worth sacrificing your self esteem for

Sampafie · 21/09/2021 14:26

@notacooldad
Hit dogs...

Sakurami · 21/09/2021 14:28

Well YouTube's algorithm also works the same. Suggesting similar things the user is interested in.

Tik tok isn't just for teenagers and prancing around. It is actually really funny. I get shown stuff I'm interested in (menopausal women, mums, business, artists I follow, shows I follow, 80s stuff etc)
