Help, Ive been single for 12 years after a 22 year abusive relationship. Have 4 kids all grown up now. I moved house a year ago and am renovating the house and garden and in the process have made many, many trips to the local tip. During one trip I had to stay in a queue to get out, as the tip workers were moving heavy machinery, I noticed one of the workers seemed nice looking, then thought no more about it. On the next trip, same bloke helped me with some bricks in my car, but went to help someone else before I could say thank you. I've since been to the tip loads more, and I do catch him looking and I smile back. It's a small tip and everyone can hear everyone s conversations, how can I let him know I like him and ask him out? Or should I just give him my number? My daughter said she would come and be my "wingman" the last time I felt like this was when I was a teenager and my mates got us together, help!! I'm rapidly running out of things to take to the tip lol!!

Hi all, just got back from the tip, bit of an anti climax really, he was there, but he was in a deep conversation with another worker about their phones or something and he didn't look up.
Made it difficult to try and strike up a conversation.
So I very slowly deposited my stuff, but still no movement from him.
Never mind, thank you all for your advice, you have given me confidence and perspective and have ideas for when I go again, which will be soon and I'll try again. Silver lining is I still get to use this tip lol x

OP I doubt you live near me, but if you did believe me, I could strike up a deal here for you to take more rubbish to the tip than you could ever possibly imagine probably from now until the day you die.

Sorry it didn't work out. Another visit today perhaps with something you've forgotten....?

Maybe someone has 'tipped' him off about this thread and he was pretending to be deep in conversation about his phone when really he is embarrassed? Just a thought !!
