I've met a lovely guy at work, we chat a lot when we can and I've dropped hints that I'm single and I've found out he is too...well today at end of my shift I just wrote my number down on some paper and gave it to him saying 'if you fancy a chat' and then bolted out of the door !! Shock

So now I'm waiting to see if:-

A) he doesn't text at all to which it will be so awkward on our next shift together; or

B) he messages and politely declines which will also be awkward but hey I can deal with it and move on; or

C) he tells me he feels the same and we live happily ever after

BTW I am 49 and so is he - although I know I'm acting like a teenager but I'm too damn impatient!!

Hmm

I applaud him for not ignoring you and actually talking to you face to face, rather than texting you that he wasn’t single.

I applaud you for doing it in the first place. Don’t let it knock your confidence. Flowers

@sociallydistained

OP, I feel like this could still turn positive for you... he may realise the person he is seeing is not for him and he really likes you so will end it and then approach. Maybe wishful thinking as I thought you were very brave!
Ah well it's up to him I guess

Ah never mind op, I understand your feelings it's difficult when you work together but hey, he doesn't seem like he is going to make it awkward so just write it up to experience and carry on.

Please don't let this one negative experience put you off doing the same in the future, I think putting your self out there and taking control is a great thing to do, why shouldn't we as women be able to take the reins.

I do understand about the work thing though, I'm in a similar situ and that's why I won't be be doing what you did is this one example, I'm not quite as brave as you.

But I said it before, so I'll say it again, well done you, takes courage that and that's never a bad thing.
