Have you seen this? How can something like this be allowed

Allowed by whom? Confused

GoodToBeFree · 08/03/2021 12:11

I don't know aren't there some rules or regulations about this stuff? Promoting affairs is allowed, beats me

TeachesOfPeaches · 08/03/2021 12:12

It's not illegal to have an affair

DioneTheDiabolist · 08/03/2021 12:12

I am shocked and appalled that something like this would be tolerated by the deeply moral Advertising industry?

LastRoloIsMine · 08/03/2021 12:13

Why would it not be?
People have affairs its a dating site like any other but I suppose its more honest than Tinder as its clear what you are signing up for.

Ifailed · 08/03/2021 12:13

breaking your marriage vows is not a criminal offence, so under what 'rules' would you have the ad banned?

Choice4567 · 08/03/2021 12:14

I mean it’s not great but I suppose not illegal?

bettybr2020 · 08/03/2021 12:14

Crazy! How can this be allowed?

OverweightPidgeon · 08/03/2021 12:15

I very much doubt it’s illegal, bad taste - yes .

LastRoloIsMine · 08/03/2021 12:15

Crazy! How can this be allowed?

Because its not illegal.

FranCan · 08/03/2021 12:15

Wow :-O
a bit much

FranCan · 08/03/2021 12:17

@DioneTheDiabolist Wink

VettiyaIruken · 08/03/2021 12:17

It's bloody revolting certainly but what rules or laws make being a cheating sack of shit a crime?

BalancedIndividual · 08/03/2021 12:17

If its not illegal, then it unreasonable for it be banned.

Just because you dont like it, doesnt mean it cant be advertised.

SirSamuelVimes · 08/03/2021 12:19

Hmm. Well, if "woman = adult human female" (the dictionary definition) and "I ❤️ JKR" are considered to be sufficiently offensive by billboard companies that they either pull them down after a single complaint, or refuse to put them up in the first place, I should say this should be easy to get taken down as being offensive.

Let me know how it goes, OP.

(Joking. Obviously it won't get taken down. Because men's right to a shag is supreme, whereas women's rights to define ourselves and express an opinion are hateful.)

GoodToBeFree · 08/03/2021 12:19

Yeah, OK, I get that maybe it's not illegal then, but it's certainly tasteless. And to use back to school in the ad, what is the world coming to..

OP posts:
Choice4567 · 08/03/2021 12:20

@SirSamuelVimes not that I don’t agree with you. But technically it’s not just for men. Women are allowed to follow this advert too...

MrWendel · 08/03/2021 12:21

It is tasteless but the ad has kind of worked in that it has provoked us to talk about it. To be honest, people willing to have an affair won't need a billboard or 'no strings attached' hookup website to help them! Tinder etc all exist.

ravenmum · 08/03/2021 12:21

Better to have those who want an affair on those sites, rather than just on normal dating sites, pretending to be single. I bet they get a load of complaints & thus lots of lovely extra publicity, on top of that generated here on this thread.

GoodToBeFree · 08/03/2021 12:22

@SirSamuelVimes I do hope it does get removed. Saw it on my morning run, I'm sure I'm not the only one it's upset, and I don't think I'm that easily offended.

Pretty sure women can have affairs too...or do women not enjoy sex in your world?

And an ad that is (even obliquely) anti-trans is against the spirit of a law protecting certain characteristics, whereas there is no law against extra-marital affairs. What a strawman argument.

But you have no right not to be offended. None of us has.

😂😂😂😂😂😂
TheBullfinch · 08/03/2021 12:28

At least with Illicit Encounters, you know what you're getting.

All the cheaters on Tinder/Match/Hinge etc.. ought to use it instead of pretending to be single.

GoodToBeFree · 08/03/2021 12:28

@SerendipityJane

lol have you actually told me I do not have a right to be offended, of course I do, we all do if it offends. I don't think things like this should be allowed
