What are you doing this valentines day?

We're not doing much of anything apart from getting food from our favourite indian restaurant on the evening and maybe watch a film if our DD goes to bed early enough Wine

In terms of gifts, we've bought eachother the same box of chocolates (Ferror Roche of course) and that's it Grin we don't need more crap we don't use round the house and we've just spent an ungodly amount on doing up the garden so I'm more than happy with the chocolate!

We're not the romantic type as you can see Grin

What are your plans?

Absolutely nothing ! My DH is on nights ☹️ he will get me some flowers and a card , I'm not buying him some tat for the sake of it so I will just get him a card

ginsparkles · 09/02/2021 10:47

Not a lot. We have ordered an afternoon tea to be delivered and have paid for a night away at our favourite hotel when they reopen.

edwinbear · 09/02/2021 10:52

Absolutely nothing. Can't be doing with Valentine's Day, it's just a normal day in our house.

Caramel81 · 09/02/2021 10:52

I’ve got him his favourite Hotel Chocolat chocs and a card. He’ll likely get me flowers. We’ll go to M&S and get some nice food and watch a film. We don’t usually do much more than that even if there weren’t restrictions

abikeindividual · 09/02/2021 10:55

We've got each other a card. Getting a Chinese takeaway and will be having some drinks and snacks. I saw a couples trivia quiz for £2 in Asda so got that cause I love a quiz. That'll do for us! :)

dREt · 09/02/2021 11:00

Nothing.

Cpl415642 · 09/02/2021 11:03

Nothing? We might get burgers. We usually get burgers on Valentine's but it's an inside joke as opposed to an 'event' really

Mrsmummy90 · 09/02/2021 11:04

Bought a £15 meal deal from Asda.
We'll be putting the kids to bed, having dinner and watching a movie.

I've bought him a cheesy gift and he's got me something.

Mochatatts · 09/02/2021 11:07

Nothing, we're skint due to covid. I've got him a card, he doesn't really do them because none of his family bother. But his face lights up when he gets one so I got him one. We'll have my kids, 13 and 9, and daughters due 11th so might have a newborn.

KitBumbleB · 09/02/2021 13:54

I'll need to ask the cat what our plans are

Shoxfordian · 09/02/2021 13:58

We have a dinner box being delivered and dh will definitely have sent me some flowers. We do cards, presents, champagne, all that

borntohula · 09/02/2021 14:13

If I can be bothered, I'm gonna bake some heart shaped biscuits with the dc because penis shaped cookie cutters are inappropriate, otherwise my plans are similar to yours. Excuse for a takeaway and a drink!

Babdoc · 09/02/2021 14:18

I will be waiting in for my replacement washing machine to be delivered, then catching up on ten days washing!
Probably one of the least romantic Valentine’s Days I’ve ever had, but as DH died 30 years ago when the DC were babies, the last 29 haven’t been much cop either, sadly.

mumonthehill · 09/02/2021 14:21

Always feel I have to explain in m and s why I am getting the valentines meal deal for 2 for 4!! The kids will want it too!!!!

Henio · 09/02/2021 14:22

I'll need to ask the cat what our plans are
Me too Smile
Needhelp101 · 09/02/2021 14:26

I'm single but didn't do much more than a card when married.

However, inspired by a poster on another thread (about happy singletons), I am going to treat myself! I have a heart bathbomb, a new pink towel and new pyjamas. I'll have a steak dinner with some lovely sides. Lots of wine and some funny films to watch and a new book. Looking forward to it 💕

LarsErickssong · 09/02/2021 14:36

We'll get a takeaway or have steak and I've bought DP a fancy pork pie, I'll probably just get flowers off him (I did hint at the weekend that I had seen an online bakery doing nice Valentine's brownies but he told me last night he went to order them and they were sold out)

Worriedhomemover · 09/02/2021 14:37

Steaks and homemade pina coladas. I bought little umbrellas and everything.

IAmBeatrixKiddo · 09/02/2021 14:39

We've got each other a gift (our favourite scent) and a card. We'll cook dinner together and then watch a few episodes of Succession. I normally hate watching box sets/TV but I'm completely obsessed with this show!

RustyParker · 09/02/2021 14:46

Babdoc Flowers

Husband making me warm croissants filled with white chocolate spread for breakfast in bed then steak for tea. Present wise he's got a brushed cotton nightshirt (he suffers from ibs so thought it will be comfy in bed as no waitband) and a big box of Maltesers. He's bought me a trinket box i had custom made and a couple of bamboo sleep caps.

MrsBerthaRochester · 09/02/2021 15:34

Watching a Burlesque show(online) Will dress up and drink champagne.

Chimeraforce · 09/02/2021 15:36

I suppose we'll exchange cards and he'll go on about blow jobs

ivfbabymomma1 · 09/02/2021 15:46

Well have an m&s meal thing, some wine & telly. We've set each other a £20 budget for a gift which we don't normally do but just trying to break up the weekend Boredum! I've got him a book He asked for for Xmas but I forgot & a tray of cakes & brownies from a local bakery & he will I assume get me a bottle of whispering angel! (My fave but I can never justify the price)

Holothane · 09/02/2021 15:48

Not much but we enjoy cards and he’s had his present baccy mine a rug which was cheap.

toolazytothinkofausername · 09/02/2021 15:50

Nothing. Just another day for me in 2021.

If it was 2019 I would leave the DC with DH, and spend the day by myself in Central London. I'd visit a museum, go out to a restaurant, then finish off with a spot of shopping.
