Can’t believe I’m onto my third thread.

Previous one here

Been packing the car to go to the tip. It’s rammed! Cat has been out for the first time and thankfully returned.

Greatly enjoyed my walks this weekend. Got an 8 miler in yesterday but the best part was coming back, lighting the fire and getting into a hot bath. Had a zoom with friends last night, touch too much red wine, but it was so much fun.

You’re all right re the petition. It doesn’t matter, he’s just jackbooting. Someone asked what I’d put in, sorry but I’m not comfortable sharing that at present, been advised to keep it to myself whilst it’s ongoing.

Geller is, however, incredulous that I’m not willing to carry on sharing Amazon Prime and Music Unlimited.

The weighted blankets have arrived so I’m just about to go sort out the laundry and the girls run. Been enjoying Radio 2’s musical weekend, but I can’t understand how Steve Wright is still on.

Tip run, then they come back. Roast chicken with bread sauce and roast gnocchi and board games this afternoon in front of the fire I think. Sounds like he’s been running them ragged, lots of walks etc which is good as means I don’t need to!

How’s everyone else spending their Sunday?

Oh. My. God.
I just read all 3 threads this afternoon.
Good god, was it deja vu! I too divorced a similar specimen. We didn’t have the potato masher saga, but wait till you get an email from him on how to date and his suggestions on how to budget. Mine also demanded access to his daughter’s room any time he pleased, because he is paying maintenance and it’s his daughter.
I’m following with interest.

Let me introduce you to the Aga city sometimes called the Aga sixty Swampy. Little rejigging required, rolls in, in a oner but works using electrickery so get some shillings in for the meter. Unless you have built in wall oven in which case as you were.

Mix56 · 11/03/2021 20:14

Found & reread an old diary from when I was 19... wow, I 'm amazed & not a little appalled at what a vapid empty bore I was, also lots of washing up, cooking for bf ( dumped causing him massive pain a year laterWink). I was living in an attic bedsit for £3.60 a week with an elec meter with shillings ( a friend fixed it so the same shilling came out the bottom & went back in again !!!) )
Those were the days eh ?!!!

swampytiggaa · 11/03/2021 20:24

My cooker is lecky do that should work @PopAyetheSailorMam 😊 just hope @StuckInPollyannaMode has ordered me the right one...

swampytiggaa · 11/03/2021 20:25

In other news I’ve organised a man to come and hopefully fix my current oven. Means I need to give it a bit of a clean before Tuesday tho.

StuckInPollyannaMode · 11/03/2021 21:40

Got you this one @swampytiggaa - a snip at £12,995. Just move house if needs be.

Don’t mention the jasmine!

Perfect 😍 I’ll just redesign the ground floor to fit it in 👍

drspouse · 11/03/2021 21:53

I have told DH I want an Aga. His response: Hmm

RandomMess · 11/03/2021 21:57

I used to have use of an aga as a student, loved loved loved it!

StuckInPollyannaMode · 11/03/2021 22:20

No need, @swampytiggaa, I’ll project manage it for you! Architect already instructed. He’ll be over tomorrow, but says he’s likely to need to move the staircase. I said that’s fine, well within budget.

@Fooshufflewickjbannanapants sorted! I’ve also asked your neighbour to pop round and trim their bush, the one that hangs over your front gate. I’ve made a note in your diary of when you need to take the bins out and dealt with your ironing pile. Drew the line at hand washing your smells but made sure I put all your work stuff in on a separate wash, just like Gellar used to like his doing.

I think most of us would have the utmost sympathy for any Mum with a child having a meltdown in Sainsbury’s; @StuckInPollyannaMode.

Adults are very fractious ATM and DCs even more so after a few days back at school.

Glad you’re sorting out everyone else on this thread, Polly. After all, you’ve not much on 🤣

SpringCrocus · 11/03/2021 22:50

I have an Aga.(runs away quick)

SpringCrocus · 11/03/2021 22:52

Spectacularly misses the point
I'm sure any parent watching would be sympathetic, Polly. I hope you are on the Gin, by now?

PopAyetheSailorMam · 11/03/2021 22:54

Me too if it’s a confessional. Too bloody damp here not to tbh. Shows crocus the secret Aga sign ( burn stripes on arm ) of allegiance.

StuckInPollyannaMode · 11/03/2021 23:06

I want an Aga.

I have Hunters and a pair of Le Chameaus and a wardrobe full of Boden.

That’ll have to do me in the meantime.

I have had wine. Only the one glass.

Also, because I can’t tell anyone this in real life...an...interesting conversation with an ex boyfriend.

SpringCrocus · 11/03/2021 23:09

Popaye yes!

And burning stuff to a crisp because you can't smell it burning?

I once, in a post birth haze of sleep deprivation , stuck a cake in the top oven (in the Aga cake baker) for a bit, moved it to the bottom oven for the night, then forgot about it and found it 5 days later, very very dried up. Blush

SpringCrocus · 11/03/2021 23:11

I had Hunters. They split. I have proper leather riggers boots now, with toe tecters and everthing
I tend to work where trees fall over, as well as mud, so useful.
Good for you for Gin, I'm on Brew cos I had a covid jab today.

SpringCrocus · 11/03/2021 23:11

Oooooh to interesting conversation! Shock

BrightYellowDaffodil · 11/03/2021 23:12

“...put all your work stuff in on a separate wash, just like Gellar used to like his doing.”

Christ, my ex liked all his clothes done separately too, so he could make sure he could hang them up “properly” but only his own clothes, obviously. Putting his in with mine would mean having to deal with my clothes which was deeply unfair to him because “You wear too many clothes”.

RandomMess · 11/03/2021 23:16

Ahem, interesting conversation you say??

I discovered waterproof socks to wear with hiking boots this winter - life changer Grin

timeisnotaline · 12/03/2021 02:06

randommess wouldn’t your feet come off with the socks after a days hiking using waterproof socks? Blush

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 12/03/2021 05:32

Interesting conversation?! Hell yeah!!

StuckInPollyannaMode · 12/03/2021 05:36

I discovered waterproof socks this winter too - for running - game changer!

Mine started to leak recently so I got in touch with the brand and they got me to try a really nifty experiment to see if they were faulty. You turn them inside out and fill them up with water. It’s pretty neat. One just held the lot and the other gushed like a watering can! Not thought of using them for hiking though, good idea.

Woken up by the rain. And DD1 nicking the duvet.
